    Thank you Anton for producing your videos. I have enjoyed them very much. Apparently there is a Restaurant at the End of the Universe inwhich all Beings meet and enjoy each others company while watching the Cosmos end its existence. It sounds like a great place for a Christmas Party. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your Family.

    Nice! I've done some exploring of stars and planets in other galaxies in Space Engine. Maybe I'll do more tonight. I read an article last month that said that water worlds probably can't generate life due to a lack of phosphorus. Phosphorus is drawn from rocks by water and this helps to create life. Since there are no rocks on water worlds, there's no phosphorus and therefore no life, at least not as we define it.

    Congratulations on another great video. Since you brought it up, maybe you should consider doing a video on the Fermi Paradox next, using Space Engine or Universe Sandbox. What do you think is the most plausible explanation as to why we haven't found any compelling evidence of another civilization out there?

    There's one galaxy at the edge. Surrounded on all sides by hundreds of light years of void. Its a young galaxy. And at its very outskirts there's a star with a habital planet.

    Where the stars and galaxies randomly generated when they made space engine, or is it generated as you explore?

    • @half.step.
      @half.step. Před 6 lety +10

      It has to be generated, space engine's file is too small for it not to be. It might be that every copy of space engine is using the same seed to generate, though, so everyone would have the same random objects in that case

      @rgbreeding Před 6 lety +2

      That is if you travel at the speed of light, however the edge of the universe is expanding faster than the speed of light. It's not really a topic worth discussing, unfortunately.

    • @VerisimilitudeDude
      @VerisimilitudeDude Před 6 lety +1

      Peter Rabitt and all the rest... Yes, you could because of something called warp drive. There's no theoretical limit to the speed you can travel with warp drive. And yes, it is feasible.

    • @rgbreeding
      @rgbreeding Před 6 lety +3

      +Verisimilitude Dude It is not feasible, it's completely theoretical or merely an interesting idea. The proposed mechanism of the Alcubierre drive implies a negative energy density and therefore requires exotic matter. So if exotic matter with the correct properties can not exist, then the drive could not be constructed.

    • @VerisimilitudeDude
      @VerisimilitudeDude Před 6 lety

      RGB Reading SMH at the naysayers. That's why we keep pushing for knowledge about how everything works. Just recently they discovered a new type of element called Excitonium, based on an escaped electron and the hole it left behind and the quantum effects it has. They also discovered gravity waves for the first time this year. They said you couldn't go over 60 mph or you'd have a heart attack, but they were wrong. They said we would never fly like the birds in the sky, but they were wrong. They said we'd never be able to crack the sound barrier. They were wrong. Just because we don't fully understand something now doesn't mean it will always be that way. I believe that there will be a break through and we will be able to travel the stars.

    • @Jerakk30
      @Jerakk30 Před 6 lety +1

      @Verisimilitude Dude Ok let's see here... first off, the discovery of a new element has nothing to do with this discussion. Not only have we theorized it for quite some time (as well as other non-natural elements we've created in the past) but it's a moot point. We didn't discover gravity waves, we've basically known about them since the 1900's. We just were finally able to create a mechanism to detect them. So no.. we didn't "discover" gravity waves. Your claim of "they said you couldn't go over 60mph" who did? Really? Are you that absurd... we cough at around 60mph.. we've known that well before we create a vehicle that could travel that fast. The only correlation between 60mph and a heart attack is the concept that coughing (which travels at 60mph) can help offset a heart attack. It's called "cough cpr" which is total bunk. That statement alone is asinine and you should feel ashamed for even bringing it up.. doubly so for getting it wrong. As for the "they said we would never fly like birds"... yeah.. maybe in the 1400's but that was also back during the time where the church was basically hampering scientific progress.. so nice try on that one. As for breaking the sound barrier.. there was no scientific claim that it couldn't be done it was just a task of creating a vehicle that could do it.. hell.. a simple whip can break the sound barrier and we were engineering those back in... um... well before recorded time. You need to educate yourself to tell the difference between since fact and science fiction.. and also what constitutes a sound scientific theory.
