Has Graham Brady received the requisite number of letters to trigger a leadership contest? Rishi Sunak may be in a no-win situation and call a general election that he is going to lose rather than be ignominiously kicked out. I dare say he is packing for California regardless.

This feels like that. I'll believe there will be an election when it's announced, not when there are rumours or there's a lot of stuff going on in the Tory part

All the signs are there more than any previous time. Just this morning if you said "oh there's a rumour of an election" my reply would have been "oh like the last 20 plus rumours in recent months that fizzled out?"
But this time around there are several factors that Marr highlighted as well as a bit of a 'tease' in response to Flynn at PMQ's where Sunak said 'spoiler alert: second half of the year' which isn't the way to rule it out as we come to the final days where a July election can still be called. Quashing it then and there would have made sense on the same day where an election being called IS actually the best possible time the Tories might actually have with the economic news. But instead people are talking about an election and forgetting about the news already. And he's visiting the King... why? Why today? Why so suddenly?

Sunak fears the rise of reformUK, who have taken 1 in 3 of Tory GE24 voters & indirectly assist Labour. As per people polling the best pollsters.

The British Prime Minister appeared in the middle of the rain wet, apparently there was no umbrella there to shelter him and announced the new elections for Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, called for July 4, 2024. In the middle of the embers, it may make sense to hold on to a burning nail. Rishi Sunak has taken advantage of the drop in inflation in the United Kingdom last April to 2.3% to clear up the great political doubt of recent months. The British Prime Minister announced this Wednesday an advance of the general elections - until now scheduled for the autumn - for July 4, 2024. While the polls give a comfortable victory to the Labor opposition, there is a general consensus in the country in around the increasingly real possibility that Keir Starmer will be the next tenant of Downing Street. Sunak's movement, sheltered by economic data that predicts a meager improvement in the country, is rather interpreted as the way to put an end to the final agony of more than 14 years of Tory governments, as the Conservative Party is commonly called.

      IMO
A Labour Government under PM KS
      WILL be worse !
      Sir KS has already announced
      "There will not be borders"
Sir KS will move closer to The EU
on the subject of illegal immigrants.
      Recently reported,
      The Daily Express front page
      "Under a Labour Government
      expect
      250,00O extra illegals EVERY YEAR ! "
"I do not intend to announce any policies.
Too many previous governments have made
Manifesto Pledges which have not been upheld"
Sir KS is asking The British Electorate
to vote "blind" for a future
      Labour Government.

What's going to change under Labour for young people?
Their wages will continue to fall against inflation.
Their taxes will go up to keep paying for pensioner's triple lock.
The services young people use will continue to be slashed in favour of those which serve the elderly.
