- Is this Vietnamese breakfast better than the classic banh mi we all know and love?
We headed out in Saigon Vietnam to try Bo Ne or Bánh mì chao which is kind of a deconstructed banh mi served in a sizzling plate!
These places are super popular here in Saigon we've seen them everywhere and I have to say it was pretty delicious.
The special cost 55K VND and the owners were extremely friendly as always in Vietnam!
Ho Chi Minh City is ridiculous there are too many places we want to eat at and not enough time! 🇻🇳

Spicy beef noodle soup 😊.
@@bachtuyetnguyen4943 Oooo delicious!
Sticky rice topped with brown sugar and minced " coconut flesh " . Cheap breakfast for poor people but quite good .
The Happy Cow cream cheese wedge is always interesting in Vietnam 😂 You can't go wrong with a sizzling breakfast or sizzling anything or meat on a stick 😂 Just knowing a few words really impress them. The kindness you show always comes back to you ❤
Your right! ❤️

Hello from Haiphong city Vietnam. Wellcome back Haiphong city
Hey thanks! So happy to be back 🇻🇳
Watching this makes me so hungry, yummy yummy 🤤
Thanks for watching, the food here is too good
The stir fry beef looks tender . Have a nice stay in Vietnam and don't forget to eat spring rolls .
It was so delicious vietnamese food is amazing 🇻🇳
My friend. The NG in Vietnamese sounds exactly as the NG in SiNGing.
Yes I try my best still learning how to say that at start of the word!!
Cheese = Pho Mai in VNmese, actually stemmed from Fromage (French for Cheese)
Similarly,
VNmese "Bơ " stemmed from French "Beurre" = Butter
VNmese "Ốp La" stemmed from French "Au plat" or On the Plate or "Bánh Mì Chảo"
"Chảo" = Plate (hot metal plate), or wok
Thanks so much! 🙏
HaiPhong number 1
We love Hai Phong 🇻🇳
Phomai is basically based on the french word for cheese fromage , lots of similarities with french words due to french colonization
Ahh interesting cheers!
Great upload! Love this part of the city!
It's a well nice part mate don't think we met a single person who wasn't lovely
Your Vietnamese pronnunciation is good! Your pronunciation of cheese was spot on. It's cool that you try to learn some Vietnamese words during the video. Well done...Yeah the ng- pronunciation at the beginning of a word can be a little bit hard to pick up. Someone commented a really clever sentence in English on one of my videos that basically produces the proper ng- Vietnamese pronunciation but I can't remember exactly what it was at the moment...right now I'm struggling with differentiating the t- versus th- sounds at the beginning of words because they sound quite similar in Vietnamese. Really friendly shop owner. That was really cool that he gave you a little peek in the back. As far as I know the salad is just seasoned in vinegar but it might have sugar as well. Which district was this in?
Hey mate I try to pick up as much as I can from speaking to people, if we stay longer term at some point will learn properly! The Ng really does me over. I respect anybody that speaks any asian tonal language, Vietnamese imo is so difficult more so than Thai anyway.
We have like 10 videos coming from the Tan Phu district of Saigon was a top area so much food and people were lovely!
@@EllisWR ah awesome I’m looking forward to seeing them. Are you guys still in Vietnam? Btw your English pronunciation of words like “tasty” reminds me a lot of one of my best friends here in Vietnam who is from Manchester, England.
We're from Blackburn like half an hour away from Manchester both Northern accents. Not there now but when we're back will bell your channel let you know.
@@EllisWR sounds good man take care!
Very nice video. Got BigTime commenting too. Awesome!
Pho Mai came from the French word Fromage (cheese) . The Vietnameses never ate cheese and butter (Bo) before the French colonization . That fish is sardine
Thanks appreciate the info! 🙏 Do you eat Bo Ne much?
I love Bo Ne but I rarely eat it in Saigon , but only in Da Nang where it's originated from@@EllisWR
@@hungcuongnguyen293 We have to try in Da Nang!
Bún bò huế opposite is really good, you should try it!
Thanks for letting us know we'll have to try it for sure! Cheers for watching 🙏

vietnamese food is the best
Yeah it's so good
Ngon quá😊
Yes so tasty!
Lien Hiep Vuong Quoc ( UK ) is the official name of England used at the United Nations Organization (To Chuc Lien Hiep Quoc ) . Not many people in Vietnam know that name .
Ahhh I see!
Enjoy Vietnam guys?
Love it here!
Nuoc means country and also water . Nuoc Anh or Anh Quoc is England . Nguoi Anh is English citizen . Tieng Anh is English language . United Kingdom is Lien Hiep Vuong Quoc ( Lien Hiep = United , Vuong Quoc = Kingdom )
Thankyou! Your teaching me Vietnamese!
Sounds great
It's tasty!
@@EllisWR are you serious? Thank you very much for introducing my VN to the world
We love your country and will keep showing how great it is 🇻🇳
@@EllisWR Before 1975 Vietnam was divided into two regions the South speaks English, the North speaks Russian and French From 1975 to 1995 there was an embargo so poverty and the generation born from 1965to 1995 only those studied at University can know a few foreign languages but the generation born from 2000 almost 70% can speak ENGLISH, I was born 1974
Great vid again 👌🏼
One question. Why are all the seats like primary school size & tiny tables in most places?
That's Vietnam for you
Good answer. Cheers😁@@EllisWR
🤤
So happy to be back Jim!
You have a good stomach, accepting all kinds of food, not picky ones.
Yes we eat anything at all! cheers for watching
Cheese is “phô mai” in n Vietnamese , came from french word “fromage”.
Thanks for explaining!

I think is sardines too
The salad sauce ingredients are vinegar, sugar, fresh water, fried garlic. Vietnamese is not that hard, there are 6 tones, I could help you guys with it.
Ahah 6 tones is difficult for us English speakers. I can learn but I will have to study and stay for a while! 🇻🇳🙏
@@EllisWR well I could help you guys within 20mins if you want to, After knowning that 6 tones you can read any words even you dont understand them, I saw that you could pair the words good together. It is great
"Bò né" means "Beef on a hot plate" because we have to avoid burning our hands ."Né"= "avoid "
Ahhh I appreciate you teaching us thanks!
Nếu Bánh mì ít bạn cứ gọi thêm.. ở VN nếu bạn muốn thêm cái gi bạn cứ nói chủ quán họ sẽ mang thêm cho bạn và chỉnh tính thêm chút ít thôi m
Thanks my friend 🙏
Keep in mind when eating in VN...all uneaten greens, herbs and condiments get recycled to the next customer. Bon Appetit!
thanks for watching!
crusties
Eh?
Personally I like bo ne with just beef and egg. The rest of the protein like pate, sardine, cheese and the el cheapo sausage and others just ruin it for me.
Will have to try it like that next time just the standard classic then!
