i believe you are thinking of his "Studebaker Erskine"... I went with him for that one but he had this before I met him... and you're right. he done good!
It's funny to me that people so frequently bother you about "leaving things alone" or leaving them original. The entire essence of your work is changing things. Whether it's Grafting, Assemblage Art or the Rat Rods It's all based on change and is irregular in nature. Taking something obsolete, recreating it and allowing it to be repurposed. It's amazing to me that you guys can make a hotrod come together like that. As always, Too cool!
thank you so much! Yeah.. we get beat up quite a bit.. I was told that I "ruined" the pickup that made my Rockabilly but in reality I SAVED It! it was all in pieces and destined for the scrapper.. same with Kerwoods rig.. impossible to restore because as a four door... it was missing the right front Door, where are you going to find a door for a 27 studebaker.. SO Kerwood in his infinite wisdom.. removed the remaining front door and pulled the cowl back to meet the back "suicide" doors and you would not believe how well the body lines lined up! Appreciatcha!!
Thumbs up for Kerwood’s hat!!!! The car is awesome!! Wouldn’t want it to cause an accident, but it’d be fun to see just once, in video, the front left tire lifting.
Maybe make your front spring spacer plate from armor plate? Two inches of 6 x 6 armor plate might start to put enough weight up there to keep it on the ground. Heck, 6 x 12 might even fit in there. What a GREAT CAR. Thanks for sharing the ride, that's just awesome. Linda and I send our best to you both.
As teen agers (in another millennia) we called those "Doodle Bugs". Bought a 63 Chevy Impala brand new (right off the showroom floor) that looked just like yours in late 63. Wasn't the SS like yours. Just a Impala, 283, 2 barrel, powerglide, with radio, heater, power steering. 3K out the door !! Sold that car in 68 for $1400.00 and never saw it again. We had just bought a used 67 SS396 Chevelle. Wich I still had both of those cars. Unfortunately, at the time, the only way to buy a new car was to sell the existing one.
Good morning Waylon. What a great way for me to start my day. Checking out Kerwood's new ride and going for a spin. You two remind me of my Buddy and I when we get together in our shop. Tell Kerwood that he did a bang-up job on his Rat Rod. Awesome looking. 👍👍 for Kerwood and 👍👍 for your video. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you ,for the song Who wouldn't fall in love with that Impala, sure nice to see the neighborhood green up Really like that studi lots of detail and thinking goes into making them look tossed together, very glad to see your friend he looks well, it's been a while, I said this before, " I am a hood and fender type, so much beauty in the flowing design Thanks for the visit always a pleasure Central California watching
@@mrbakerskatz I have drag raced all my life pretty much. My oldest son has been with me all the way and now races professionally. When he was about 6 or 7 one day after church, he asked me if slicks would bite on streets of gold.... I smiled knowing he was listening in church and also at the strip. I told him I was pretty sure they would bite just fine!!!!!
Love that long body and my first thought was “ man I sure would like to see it carry that front end down the strip ! But now I’m thinkin it would be great on the new turnabouts ! Thanks Ken
Great job Jim. You'll be doin good at the car shows ! RPeek has the classy & Jim has the sassy. Shame you two can't do a drive 'round . Tks for the video Ken. 👍👍
Love the cars, BUT what a beautiful place to live, love the trees. 63 iMP. is a treasure I have a 63 Ranchero, been in 4 car magazines so far, it looks like it just came off the assembly line. It was just in the center pages of DRIVE magazine.
Well done Jim and a hearty congratulations from Western Australia, I'm sure you will have plenty of happy miles ahead of you if in that beast. Tony from Western Australia.
A nice addition would be some of the old ‘thick spoke’ spindle mount MT’s for the front. Might be hard to find originals, but I think there is a knock off version now. Love this build.....!!
I'm new sub got up this morning you was on my CZcams man them hills are beautiful I'm so tired living in city cool rod there buddy keep on keeping on much love from Minnesota God bless 🙏
Love the car JIM, old Glory is a nice touch!!. i wonder if a 32 ford repop rad & grill would fit your needs?. thanks for the show KEN That Impalas lookin Fine!!!!
thanks for watching .. and it came with a flat head 6.... over the past couple of years well over 100 people have suggested the v12. not going to happen... for many reasons but the v12 weighs 1490 lbs with only 250 hp. it would turn his hot rod into a slug and probably twist the frame with its 630 ft lbs of torque. he built the car he wanted
@@1963impala2drWaylonWire yes sir I remember the weight of those dinosaurs it's a very interesting design I've heard the V-6 was claimed to be a million miles motor, would that make the V-12 good for two million? Lol Central California watching
They make an insert that is slightly larger than the pins on the emblem that grab the pin when pushed into them . I would add 4 or 5 inches to the rear fenders it’s an easy modification. She’s looking good so far 👍😎
So, under the Studebaker script, Jim needs to install a script "Scout", from an International Scout :) I think Jim needs to install some X bracing and maybe a Front Sway Bar!
Im a new follower and I build a ratrod out of a 4wd 94 silverado not as pretty as yours are but hoping to be on your level someday and great videos Ive loved everyone Ive seen so far :)
I mean I'm not say its should be it's name but if head has put that much Time, Effort, and Love into it how could it much else and from watching Kenwood on here it has alot of his traits. ........LOL

Kerwood did a great job putting that Studebaker together. A lot of really neat fabrication ideas throughout. Two thumbs up Jim!

That is one gorgeous '63 Impala. And I am a sucker for red with a black interior.
Those barbed wire spark plug wires were so cool. Ive never even imagined that something like that could exist. They're so at home on a rat rod!
Love the double clutchin intro! Great job Kerwood!
