The booktube community is wonderful. I use washi tape to tape I thank you notes in my gifted books🥰. Well I didn't in the beginning, but now I do.😅

I feel a lot of series are started to adapt the hunger games theme: Red Rising series, Serpent & The Wings of Night duo-logy, The Grace Year, Powerless series!!

Dance of Thieves is a duology that comes after a trilogy, The Remnant Chronicles. Kiss of Deception is the first in that world. You can read the duology first but most of the world building is in the first trilogy. Sort of like Shadow and Bone and Six of Crows 😊

Omg I didn’t know there was a trilogy before the duology!!! 🤯 For some reason, I didn’t even think about the possibility of more books in that world, but now I’m so excited 🥳 I’ve only read Dance of Thieves (haven’t had a chance to pickup Vow of Thieves yet), so I’ll have to backtrack to The Remnant Chronicles 🙏 Woohooo, thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Hey Ash! Just stopping by to tell you: don't be scared of Sanderson! He's so approachable. Granted, I've only read Mistborn Era 1 and Warbreaker but still. His writing is really cool but easy, even though his world is very in depth. Super recommend it. There are a few recommended orders to read The Cosmere and in my case I started with that trilogy you're holding and I absolutely LOVED IT. I hope you love it too ^^
Anne of green gables is such amazing book and an easy read!

If you enjoy the series I would suggest Elantris or Warbreaker next before his massive Stormlight Archive series

I just finished reading The Serpent and the Wings of the Night. It was so good! It has action, romance, fantasy, and tragedy from beginning to end. You may need some tissues, but you’ll love it!

My in person book club is reading A Winter in New York for our January pick. Hopefully we all love it!
Can you tell I’m leaving comments in real time? 😂 the Mistborn series is my all time favorite (behind HP of course!) for Sanderson, I’d say start either with Mistborn, OR Tress of the Emerald Sea! Mistborn is a little confusing for the first 50ish pages, but so worth it!

Caraval series is AMAZING.
10:34 if you’re intimidated by Brandon Sanderson, read his YA books first! His YA sci-fi is called Skyward and it’s one of my 6 star books! Highly recommend
I believe Sanderson recommends starting with Mistborn, I started with storm light archive without being aware of how big he is. Got me into reading fantasy. Can’t go wrong, he creates such incredible worlds. I haven’t read mistborn yet but hope to get into it eventually.
“Divine Rivals” was excellent! You will love it! It’s in my top books of 2023, with ACOTAR, Spy Family manga (super cute and if you want to venture into manga, it’s a great series to toe the line), Legends and Lattes, the Infernal Devices, everything Stephanie Garber wrote (glad you got the Caraval trilogy), Strange the Dreamer, Keeper of Enchanted Rooms and Age of Myth by Michael J Sullivan. Mistborn is an excellent start for epic fantasy and Brando Sando. I’m excited to see what you think of it. I love Anne of Green Gables. I grew up with the Meghan Follows adaptation, it’s super sweet and charming. You’d love it. Finally, your wishlist is still showing some books you were gifted, unless my stuff isn’t uploading correctly haha. YOU ARE AMAZING and you and Ian deserve all the love. You two are just so positive, fun and vibrant, you’re both amazing additions to the BookTube world. Happy New Year and enjoy your new reads 🥰!
Hi Ashlynn, found your channel through your husbands recently and got to say I'm loving the content so far. As for Brandon Sanderson I hadn't read nothing of his until this year either. But I have just finished Tress of the Emerald Sea, which I believe is a Cosmere novel. But as I said I haven't read anything from him before. I didn't feel like I missed anything or was unable to follow it because of this. Will definitely be looking to read more in the future. But maybe look at Tress of the Emerald Sea if like me you're intimidated

You should put the notes the person sent you with the book in your book review in your readibg journal if u have one. Then you can remember it was from a person who sent you it and the note with it❤

I have the audiobook of the sequel Ruthless Vows on hold on Libby. if you and Ashlynn like nonfiction books on theology then you can’t go wrong with other books by C.S. Lewis I learned about this from another CZcamsr Haley Pham. Also I have The Throne of Glass series on tbr, I am finishing the Harry Potter series and Winter from the Lunar Chronicles but as soon as those are done it’s TOG time‼️ I am hoping to read more nonfiction books on 2024. Also thanks Ashlynn about the book “None of this is true “ but I might give Belladonna a chance but it’s on a fine line 😅 I had to stop the audiobook of Malice after 32% or chapter 26 because I couldn’t understand what was going on. Truly Devious is amazing I still need to get the last book but I love this series 💯times better than a good girls guide to murder which I only liked the first 2 books in that series.
I would like to recommend a book for you And Ian (it's a series but just start with book one). It is call "Wizard's First Rule" by Terry Goodkind. I have not seen anyone on Book Tube talk about this book. I believe you will love as much as I do. I have read this book about five times.

Brandon Sanderson is so misunderstood! His writing is honestly super easy to read I think that’s why he’s so popular it will be some of your fav books of all time! I would 100% read either way of kings or tress of the emerald sea first, in my opinion I think it’s better to read Mistborn once your already a fan it’s his older work and I think he has better stuff currently but just my opinion a lot of people read Mistborn first and love it! Way of kings is my favourite book of all time and I have read 100 books every year haha
