These are so cool. Unfortunately, no matter what the bldg. is repurposed as, these will likely get modded.
I love San Antonio, Texas. But I’m from Alabama.

What’s here now?
From what I could gather online, there are plans to convert the building into housing and office space.
This is an amazing set of elevators, and i've never seen these before, i thougt there were only the main bank of elevators and the service, but i guess i was wrong, the elevators are really cool tho. @DieselDucy
The "Touch Tubes" were supposedly all done away with due to the fact that they are not ADA compliant and will "false fire" under certain conditions (not good while in "Fire Service Mode"). How they are still in use is beyond me?....Great technology for their time. Otis was truly @ the top of Elevator technology game until the 1980's.. Thankfully for us young apprentices who entered the industy in the 70's & 80's there were still smart "old timers" around to tech us the intricacies of keeping a "analog electronics system" like these in proper operation. Many of these guys were war veterans who learned their electronics skills in the military in radio and radar units. Thanks to all those guys👍
