  • If you’ve already conquered the task of screen printing t-shirts, what’s the next step? Designing sneakers of course. To aid in this challenge Jon Tang, creative director of FRONTEER, explains the intricacies involved when designing and making a sneaker from scratch. With help from fashion designer Mike Cherman, the pair examine the necessary steps from initial ideation and sketching to the accompanying “Tech Pack”-a factory legible translation of the freehand sketches that contains the necessary data when it comes to scale, all the angles and views, a material map that lays out the foundation for textures and make up and more. Jon continues to share his advice when it comes to starting the project you may have in mind, along with some words of wisdom to help tackle the albeit daunting undertaking.

      TheSteelSplinter That s probably a PANTONE color book. Architects, grafic designers, interior designer, painters use it too. It looks a bit expensive but you will use it your all your life if you're going to design, its a good investment.

    • @brodwords7669
      @brodwords7669 Před 6 lety

      Yes, that's all we need! Taking someone else's shoe and copying ANY part of it in ANY way gets you sued once you manufacture the shoe and try to sell it. I saw where Converse just sued 31 different shoe manufacturers!

  • @overseasmusiccartelomcarte3611

    Go find a brand you really like, go work for them, and learn all you can learn.
    That was the advice of person who don't know sh!t about making shoes. You could have gave better advice than that. Like getting a job at a shoe company is really that easy.
    I like the designs on the table but that advice, ole that non encouraging advice.
