  • The YZ250 now runs like new! We tried several different jets and could not get it to hit the top end rpm just right no matter what we did. It would bauble and never hit the power band and was running a bit lean. We eventually looked inside the cylinder with a camera and found that it has been bored .050 over . We then decided to get a Lectron carburetor and holy smokes are we glad we did! It is like a brand new machine!

Try rich her up as much as you can. put the biggest pilot & main jet in her that she can possibly take. She can take a lot more fuel than that. There is hardly any smoke coming from her. it's best to see a bit of smoke

That’s not necessarily true. A good, complete combustion leaves very little smoke, especially with synthetic premixes. Ideally a 2 stroke with a low ash oil would leave almost no smoke when on the pipe if jetted correctly.

No it's not actually, my son wasn't 100% proficient at shifting at this time along with the poor rear tire on the dirt road it just spins the rear wheel. I have since put Shinko 520A tires on it and it hooks up much better now. The 520A tires are very hard but perfect for where we live. Thanks!
