    Header wrap is one of the best things I've ever done, saved my hands and legs more than a few times.

    At the hot rod shop where I work we fabricate all of our headers from scratch, sandblast and use that silicone heat paint on the steel before and after wrapping. Good quality materials make a huge difference, and thanks for the excellent tutorial

    Wish I would’ve seen this before burning my arm so bad last night with the go kart.. is the temp paint necessary or can it be skipped?? Big difference with/without it?

    I did that about a month ago to the race kart. The heat was uncomfortable on longer rides. The stuff I used wasn't fiberglass but looked the same. It had volcanic rock in it. I still used gloves ;)

    Just a heads up. Soaking the wrap in water makes it weaker and you should wear gloves because its made of fiberglass

      Why do the header wrap manufacturers tell users to soak it in water then? Dying to hear your explanation.....

    • @Wilson_Racing
      @Wilson_Racing Před 2 lety

      @@davecarnevale8017 so it breaks apart sooner and you have to buy more of their wrap. Everytime I've seen someone soak some, it doesn't last near as long as someone who wrapped it dry

      That's actually a good point. I meant to wear gloves but in the process of also shooting it slipped my mind. The little fibers are super annoying and I definitely wished I'd had the gloves
