I like to imagine Sal has a giant Pacific Rim-esque countdown clock in the office that says "Days until Ultimate Spider-Man Back Issues" that's set at 30 days and counting until someone asks about it and the clock resets.
No matter where we were raised. No matter how we were raised. No matter what our background was, how far apart we are, or how different we may be...we can always laugh at a good fart joke.

Here to comment that years later even with a brand new Ultimate Spider-Man series penned by Jonathan Hickman that has NOTHING to do with the original USM series, Brian Michael Bendis's USM book is still a part of Back Issues everybody and their cousin looks forward to on Comic Pop though its primarily a once or twice per year treat.
See you all in 2029 when Sal and friends maybe get to the Miles Morales segment of USM (2000) while simultaneously being pestered to cover the 2024 series after enough time has passed.
Personally I like the idea of you guys doing every volume, even if some are less eventful than others. Even the less important ones have character moments to talk about.
Comic pop could talk about filling out tax forms and I would still watch.

I remember reading this volume during my high school days. And that cliché of how dramatic teenagers make out of everything, that letter that MJ wrote to Peter and gave him, I shit you not, I had that exact similar letter given to me by a girl. Just take the "getting-thrown-off-buildings-and-bridges" part outta there and basically that's the gist of the letter I've gotten. And I had no earthly idea how to respond tho her. My heart jumped and skipped a couple beats. LONG STORY short, this volume of Ultimate Spider-Man is one of my favorites.
Oh yeah, also the Aunt May characterization at the end was amazing too. Can't wait for more in the future.
I don't normally laugh at fart jokes these days, but that running gag got me good. Wonderful episode as always, guys!

Funny thing, in the Ultimate Spider-Man video game, if you go to Peter’s high school, you’ll actually find that “Geldoff Rules!!!” Is spray painted by the entrance.
Sometimes the episode of Back Issues talking about Aunt May going to see a shrink can be the most touching. Never worry about the comic not being interesting - you always make them great!

Oh my god you’re finally doing it, this was the trade that got me into comics, I remember looking at the cover as a kid and seeing X-Men and Spider-Man so I thought this would be the most worthwhile one to get and I haven’t looked back since, this is gonna be such a treat
I love *Back Issues* so much that I paused my binge watching session of *Back Issues* so I can watch the new *Back Issues* . Now I'm going back to binge watch *Back Issues* .
I don't think there is any other show that is roughly an hour long that I can sit down and watch all the way through. Pure entertainment.
Hell yeah!!!! This arc is pretty good, I like Peter’s interaction with the X-men and how he tried getting another costume. They even recreated the scene where he saves the lady from the muggers for the video game.
First time on this channel. Guy makes a pretty good story teller.
The only consolation i've had when the series got cancelled is that atleast Peter and Mary's story ended with them running away together. Still hoping they made it to 616 somehow, just a couple of college students in a remote town somewhere.

A great episode. I never knew that the only thing missing from Ultimate Spider-Man was farts, but I sure do now.
Kinda cool that the robbery with the thieves using avenger's masks from this was used in Homecoming. It even had the explosion at the end.

When Gwen dies it it revealed that Flash wanted to talk to Peter about Gwen.
Honestly this is my favorite story from the Bendis Spiderman run. Its the most human, most grounded and undistracted by whatever fantastic evildoer, its just some dumb kid being wreckless and dangerous. Great stuff

It's so sad that aunt may has this fear of peter dying and then Peter dies later in the series, this was such a sad comic run until the universe ended and none of this mean't anything anymore since the ultimate universe is back and Peter never actually died

The Aunt May therapist issue is definitely in my top five favorite Peter ultimate Spider-Man issues
I've always felt bad for Aunt May. like bless her for taking in Peter when she did, but then she loses her husband, only to then continue to raise their nephew from then on alone with so many money problems. she tries to find move on from Uncle Ben multiple times, and each one is unsuccessful. whether it be because they'd die, or because they are actually super villains. she deserves a lot more than she's been given.
Will you ever be doing episodes on any other Ultimate Universe stories? Fantastic Four and X-Men would be cool!

I love how character driven Ultimate Spider-Man was. I miss that in comics sometimes. It’s fun seeing Peter with the X-Men, but it’s the Ultimate X-Men so it’s a downgrade lol

I was really excited when Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson got back together in Ultimate Spider-Man #41, although I wish they never broke up!
That bit where sal goes on about how people think petes character is that he's always going to unsuccessful, kinda seems like a nod to the modern Spidey writers who fundamentally don't get the who Spiderman is.
