  • The Atlas Touring Coach is our most luxurious touring coach to date. It’s a Class B RV built on the legendary Mercedes-Benz® Sprinter van chassis and inspired by our trailblazing Airstream Interstate series. In fact, with its power slide-out, richly appointed features and finishes, and understated automotive styling from grill to bumper, we affectionately call it a Class B+. A new standard has arrived for those who believe a well-traveled life begins with the best.

    I ordered this new RV Last year with the E1 package. It is being produced at this time and I will receive it in late April or May. There was never an option for the Starlink system hopefully it will be included. I have a 2019 Atlas now and travel in it all year round in the Northeast USA. It is awesome but generator, needs oil change every 100 hours Propane last about 4 days with furnace on and finding a center to refill is sometimes a hassle. I believe the toilet is still plastic. I have air connect now through AT&T and listening to music through my Sonos speakers is sometimes sporadic. I winterized my Atlas this past winter and enjoy Planet fitness everyday to exercise and shower. Instacart is great for all my deliveries. Well worth the money. Much cheaper than hotels everyday. I travel daily for my work duties and have no issues about full time stay. One thing I’ve learned is to not use the slide out when it snows as you won’t be able to close it fully unless you have a way to remove the snow which requires a ladder. Happy to answer questions.

    They need a couple more floorpans SOOO bad. I can't believe they only have one when every other B+ has like 4-5 different floorpans. They have some great stuff on here too, the E1 package is awesome, just give us a couple floorpan options, maybe a bigger kitchen....

    Great summary, thank you! With "normal" use how long does the lithium system power the Atlas? Given it's larger and has more electronics (bigger TV, sofa, electric raise on TV) wondering how it performs for daily use (beyond just the AC question above). * Also how long does the system take to recharge off the alternator-does it require a certain rpm to charge?

    That's a beautiful coach and, as is to be expected with Airstream, the craftsmanship is the best to be found. I enjoy watching the videos of the higher-end Airstreams, one reason being that it gives me a glimpse of what might be in future Airstreams. In watching videos of old(er) Airstreams, it's interesting to see what was once an item only to be found on a Classic is now standard on a Bambi.
    The down-side to the Atlas, for me, is that I need a dedicated bed so that I can just plop down at nap-time, without having to lower the murphy bed, and take my daily afternoon nap. That's the reason I like the Ridgeline best of all the Airstream coaches. 🙂

    Thanks for the best look at the E1 package that I have seen so far. Some questions I have:
    - For how long can the Volta battery power the a/c unit on a single full charge?
    - I have a Girard continuous hot water heater in my 2021 AS 30 Globetrotter. Lots of water is wasted when the hot water tap is opened as you wait for the heater to produce hot water. It essentially makes a hot navy shower impossible and is therefore a useless water heater for boondocking. Does the timberline system on the Atlas provide instant hot water (to help conserve water when boondocking)? Can the timberline heater in the atlas provide continuous / limitless hot water when you have full hookups?
    - the Globetrotter propane furnace with electric fan is noisy and makes sleep difficult as it cycles on and off at night. Does the Timberline furnace eliminate this issue?
    - was the atlas in the video equipped with the hydraulic leveling jacks? How well does this system work? Does it auto-level?
    - soon, airstream will run out of 2022 cut-away chassis and will switch to the 2023 4cyl diesel. This chassis is available as a 4x4. Will that option be offered on the Atlas (I can see the higher curb weight of the 4x4 creating a payload issue. But you never know…)?
    - the new Mercedes chassis is also available as a 4500 4x2 which improves the GVWR of the chassis and may be more suitable for the Atlas. Heck, it may make a porcelain toilet possible! Any news trickling down about using the 4500?

    • @ChadsRVReviews
      @ChadsRVReviews  Před rokem

      Thanks for the comment!
      - From what I've been told, the A/C can run continuously for about 8 hours on a full battery.
      - The timberline does continuous/limitless hot water. To fix the wasted water problem, you'll want to add a Showermiser. The Showermiser will fix that problem!
      - It's noisy on the outside of the motorhome. It wasn't that noisy to me. The 3200-watt inverter is noisy.
      - It does have the auto level and push button auto level. Easy to use!
      - My understanding is that at some point, Airstream will have which to 2023 chassis, and they will have the new 4cyl. I do have a few Atlas that will have a big V6 that I can still get a hold of.
      - Airstream doesn't offer the 4x4 option on the Atlas. You can get that on the Interstate. I think you're right about the curb weight
      - I haven't heard anything about the 4500 chassis, but I like the way you are thinking! I think it will be a few years before they do make a change if they do use the 4500.

    Great review, love the new interior color, I am buying one, the new E1 option convinced me... Does it still have that lame plastic toilet? Or did Airstream finally install a real porcelain toilet in the Atlas? At over $300,000+ with the E1 package, I hope so.

    • @ChadsRVReviews
      @ChadsRVReviews  Před rokem

      Believe it or not, they do you still use the plastic toilet on the 2023 models. Would be an easy upgrade to the porcelain. Hopefully they’ll make that change for the 2024 model year! I’d be happy to help you buy your Atlas! I can get you the best pricing and rates available!

    • @TheBigWanger
      @TheBigWanger Před rokem

      Can someone explain what the big deal is about the plastic toilet? Clearly plastic is used for weight considerations. Does the plastic break? Does the plastic toilet not function correctly? What specifically is the issue operationally or maintenance wise? I suspect it’s just a preconceived bias to heavier porcelain. I’ll take the weight advantage myself. I don’t plan to live in the toilet.

    I just hate how with this package you go from a double burner to a single burner. That makes zero sense whatsoever. So basically you can make one thing on the stove at a time. If you’re making spaghetti, then you have to heat up your sauce separately or in the microwave which makes a huge mess. It just really makes no sense and is the one reason why I would not want to get his package. The double burner is actually quite useful.
