      Thank you for watching and channel. I'll be releasing more videos you'll see if you are subscribed. A lot of people can't afford Winning, while the Phenom isn't cheap it is half the price of the Winning FG-2900 and almost as good

    I have the Phenom Headgear and it's my favorite Headgear so far. I was thinking of getting a white Headgear and was comparing these 2. I have the winning Headgear with bar in black and it's really nice. I get my nose bleeds in the nonbar Headgear cause I have a big nose, lol. Good video bro.

    Hey Wingo, appreciate the review and comparison. I think will just spend the extra money on the winning as I feel like at 189 bucks, I might go for the real deal. I already have a great headgear from New Sporting that's a little heavier, so I wana try the real deal next.

    amazing review! i have decided to abandon all pursuits of a fg2900 cheaper alternative. i have a fg2900, but i wanted to have more than one head guard. all of the people I've seen that had to adjust their fg2900 didn't properly adjust the guard to their head.
    you're spot on about tucking your chin and head guards only protecting you from cuts/bruises.

    • @wingoreviewsboxingandmma3667
      @wingoreviewsboxingandmma3667  Před rokem +2

    • @nb0616

      I've been using a cheap knockoff of Winning called Shuder Mastige. I believe they're a Korean brand manufactured in Pakistan. I switched the laces to Winning because I think they're nicer... it's an all leather construction, which is nice as it stays in place (always for me). The back is a near exact copy of Winning (lacking the extra material the Phenom has) cut perfectly (like Winning) for easy full range of head motion. Where the $50 cost shows itself is in the size and padding of the front. The foam is very dense... to the point of occasionally transferring more of the impact than absorbing it. The thickness also contributes to the wideness of the headgear. The size is the only thing that impairs your ability to tuck nothing more than your chin under your shoulder. The wider a headgear is, the bigger target your head becomes... so I get partially connected with shots that would never touch me in a pro fight.
      I know 1 year ago I made a commitment to just shell out for the FG-2900... BUT... boxing boots and gloves are the most important thing to me... and Mizuno boxing boots and Winning MS-300 gloves (occasionally Grant... but that's only if I'm stipulated to wear horsehair gloves... which, as a club fighter, I find ridiculous. I make 100-200 bucks a fight before taxes and everything on average. I only choose Grant because they, IMO, are the most protective horsehair glove you can get that's widely sanctioned... they're still overpriced, awful QA, shit IMO.)
      An extra thank you for pointing out the back closing flaw and the crap forehead inner material of the SHG-250! I'll take a look at MK1 or whatever, and if it's got a difference, I really dislike... then it's time to shell out for an FG-2900. I've been putting this off far too long. I spar too much or get paid to be a sparring partner to not have quality headgear.
      I'm disappointed as I had high hopes because I love Phenom's foul protector... even though it's simpler than headgear, there's so many companies that can't get it right.

    I think the extra padding on the chin and back is what makes it 2/3 oz heavier but the winning headgear is 10oz not 8oz (still the lightest on the market

    So I just got the phenom headgear, but found a winning for a decent price.
    Do you think it's worth it getting the winning ones for some extra hundred bucks, and maybe selling my phenom's?
    I enjoy the idea of soft and lightweight headgear, only thing is, I sweat alot in training and was thinking the phenom would be better to avoid slipping.
    Im thinking about the longterm game in terms of impact protection, would you say the impact protection is noticeably better than the phenoms, and do the winnings slip around noticeably more?
    Thanks again.

    hi wingo, I'm writing to you from Italy, I have a problem with my phenom, during sessions where I sweat a lot the helmet doesn't stay secure and moves, ruining my sparring.
    I know that a new microfibre model has been made, do you think it can solve this problem? Is the internal material of the winning the same as the phenom? Grazie mille

      Yes they will take out the suede part and replace it with the rest of the inside lining on the custom. I know because I called them and I asked them about it, they yes they will do that on the custom of you ask them

    23.5 inch head not sure if i should get large or medium. All my larges fit perfect like adidas and my old winnings at medium FIT but way too small vision wise. Cleto reyes medium fits perfect. The only reason im debating medium is because of the Reyes and everyone says these are sized up and bigger than normal.

    Lol when at the end of vid you were talking about rather buy from the guy because you can call him and have good customer service, I felt that because buying from winning USA that Kazamichi guy is so rude. I called the phone and he answered the phone saying “why you call me” I said I want to purchase a glove and he said “ why you call me” again, and he said don’t call my phone , and I said well if you don’t want people calling your phone then why do you have a phone number attached to the business on google. I hung up and spent more than I would with him with another website just so I wouldn’t put money in his pocket. There’s no reason to be rude to people that are trying to spend money with you. That’s what happens when you have a product that there is more demand than supply. I promise if he had a tough time selling his gloves he would be more respectful to potential customers.

      @wingoreviewsboxingandmma3667  Před rokem +2

      My head is 22.5 inches and I found the medium to be just a tad to large for me. Call my friend John at Box Up Nation 214-516-9519. He may allow you to try the small and if it does not fit properly he may allow you to exchange for the larger size. You can also pre order it on the color you want from him and he should be able to get it within a couple weeks.
      I just ordered the Phenom Gp240 high cut groin protector from him but I'm still waiting on it to give a review. I also bought a pair of Phenom Sg-210s from him I'll be releasing a review on soon.
