HI George.. I am using Photoshop elements 2019. I want to be able to load a gradient onto a brush to paint. The only vid I could find on it uses photoshop cc. Am I able to do that in 2019? I am familiar with gradients, how to make a custom, but when I switch to brushes menu, I am out of gradient mode. From what I've learned, I can access gradients by Layer style-style settings-adjust stroke-? Or, New Fill Layer-gradient fill layer, but that is only a layer. I do not get any box, left or right, to make adjustments to my brush or layers...? What I am trying to do is shade using a gradient, or is it more practical to just use manual shading with blending colors? Seems like a lot of work to set a gradient, but you can store them. Do you have any good videos to recommend on shading, shading with elements, how to paint with gradients? Another topic would be how to paint with elements. Thanks!
I have a question. I'm trying to use the gradient tool on a solid color background with a baby and every time I do it, it goes on the baby and then if I use my selection tool and outline the background and baby it only goes on one corner? I'm a little confused at what to do.
Lex46290 Hi Lex, I am guessing that you want to replace the background behind the baby with a gradient. If that is the case the best thing to do is to use the different selection tools and put the baby on its own layer with a transparent background. Then put the gradient on a new layer behind the baby. That also gives you more control to adjust or change the gradient as you see fit.
Hi, the first thing to try is to reboot your computer. If that doesn't help then try holding down the ctrl+shift+alt keys while the program is loading. That will reset all of the settings back to their default state. If that doesn't work I would recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the program. In most cases corrupted files need a reinstall. You should also give your computer a check as there was a reason the file became corrupted, could be a hard drive issue. George

It says my eiditor gradient file is gone bad or corrupted how do I fix it
