Mentally he was still there but the stroke robbed of him speech. Same thing happened to my Grandma. She understood every word we said to her and the only way she could communicate was nodding her head.
My dad had a stroke on exactly the same day as the actor when I was 17. He is just as badly disabled by it but alot younger. This moment in eastenders was nearly impossible to watch because I know I'm still waiting for this day. When tv touches your life its very poignant.
😢😭 whenever Eastenders plays that theme tune whether it sad ending or a happy ending, it makes me cry without fail. Even just hearing the tune in my head makes me emotional 😭 (I’m always emotional I really hate it, I’m even emotional at Christmas or when I see/go to a Wedding, and even seeing an advert for animal charities, children charities or even Disneyland or Disney World makes me cry)
"Life imitates Art far more than Art imitates Life", Oscar Wilde once quoted. John Bardon had the life experience of being paralysed and was able to express of his emotions for real. That makes this scene even harder to watch.
Well 2007 was when John Bardon had his initial stroke. But yeah, I guess it feels like he'd been gone since like 2003 cuz Jim was his funny old self up until he had his stroke. After that, he just wasn't the same anymore.
I suppose that he could no longer get the comedy, after he suffered the stroke. The scene, when he accidentally sucks the baggie up the vacuum cleaner is now classic and has been included on the 30th edition DVD of EastEnders.
I know he had several strokes in real life but after the first stroke was he acting in 2009-2011 or did his stroke really make him this way ? I meant the first stroke, not the second and third
Probably cuz Jim wasn't an easy father. Max certainly didn't bother going after Jim gave him a good belting as a child and thought it was him who locked him in a coffin but later found out it was actually Derek. And Jim didn't exactly give Carol his blessings when she married Alan as he was more of a racist back then. As for Jack, I'm not entirely sure as he doesn't appear in these scenes despite appearing in this episode as his name's in the credits.
The fact John Bardon still continued to appear was incredible. Legend
Mentally he was still there but the stroke robbed of him speech. Same thing happened to my Grandma. She understood every word we said to her and the only way she could communicate was nodding her head.
R.I.P John Bardon and June Brown
This is the most emotional Eastenders exit I've ever seen. So subtle. So real

I hope your dad is doing a lot better :)
“I’ll still be here Jim”
now she has gone.
Jim was a very funny man, cracking me up with he's one liner. God Bless.
This is so heartbreaking to watch 😔😢

Was sad seeing Jim going through what he went through. Such a good character
Jim was a racist prick this scene is only sad because john bardon wasnt acting but his character deserved worse
Jay Cartwright He WAS a racist prick. He was a terrible man in his past but he became a better man.
Jay Cartwright he was acting .
@@pandogstudios1512 which is what matters, that he became good in the end
@@gilesscanlon2586 For real

RIP Jim 🥺😔🤧💐😇
R.I.P Jim Branning and Dot Branning
This was Jim's last appearance on Eastenders.
Yes it was mate :)
No shit
Christopher Drennan yes that's why it says Jim branding leaves with Julies theme (26 may 2011)
Thanks for informing everyone, cause no one could tell by reading the title 🤦♂️

RIP JUNE BROWN LEGEND
2:18 I’ll still be her Jim, made me cry
Was so sad coz he wasn't even acting he really was ill
RIP both of them
And now dot is with jim up there in heaven. Forgot how sad this was. Wonder if that was a real ambulance taking him to his real hospital or home??
Hmm, I don't know if they would've allowed that to have been filmed for an EastEnders episode even if it did look realistic.
It's even sadder because John Bardon wasn't acting
I miss Jim and I miss the actor
No he wasn't 🥲
He was acting .
In this scene
@@gilesscanlon2586 no
I don’t wanna get old
Don't know what it is bout that tune everytime I hear it I burst into tears 😢
RIP Jim 😔😞🥺😇💐
All I wanna do is give him a cuddle 🥺❤️
And I thought Skaki’s funeral was hard to watch, this is so sad 😩😭
I agree mate! :(
Agreed! I'm surprised Patrick wasn't there, though!
@@alexanderjones9572 Yes that was a bit off, Patrick not being there.
@@alexanderjones9572 He might not have wanted Patrick to see him in that state - men can be funny like that, especially from their generation....
Patrick was at his funeral

Rip john bardan and june brown now together at last x
goodbye jim
Poor Jim
Feels longer then 2011 when Jim left feels like his been gone since like 2003 or somthing
feels like last year for me
Feels like forever for me

@@filmsforallnations Oh yes, I remember that. That was kind of sad and funny at the same time.
Goodbye Jim Branning
Ruined not by Dot but by the broadcaster in the credits blathering on
I was just thinking the exact same thing
Wasn’t even real acting. What we seen was actual emotions. RIP Jim Branning & RIP John Bardon !!!
R.I.P. To June Brown as well.
R.I.P Jim Branning
Ironic that Max was the only son there for Jim in the end. Jim treated Max like shit his entire life
This proves Max isn't as bad as people say
Max even tried to make the effort of turning up to his 75th birthday in 2008. Although Dot Rudely turns Max away.
Same goes for carol he was terrible to both of them and yet they were the only ones who were there for him
🥺🥺
Oh poor Jim. He did not deserve that.
Can you upload a clip where Carol tells Sonia that Jim died
They say people don't return after the theme song yet Ronnie Mitchell return after they played it when she went to prison
Yh but Ronnie was different. John Bardon had to leave because of his health.
Max branning got it and he is still alive
Poor Dot 💔
I liked him - Sad 😞
🥺🥺
Both actors and actress gone now 😢
Patrick hijacked that Ambulance you know, drove it off a cliff
You'd have to take me out if I got to that point. Pretty depressing.
Poor Jim when his stuffed with a struck 😰😥
Putting him in the ambulance was a bit ‘Crash, Bang, Wallop’.
I know he had several strokes in real life but after the first stroke was he acting in 2009-2011 or did his stroke really make him this way ? I meant the first stroke, not the second and third
He was a horrible character
Despite this being real and sad
He deserves it after the way he treated his family
:(
Can I have a shoutout pls
Sounds like Chewbacca
Not very funny that, this was for real as he really was this bad (he wasn't acting)!
Not really funny as he wasent acting he was seriously ill
peter beale sounded like chewie.
Get fucked you melt
That’s not funny The actor that played Jim actually did lose he’s speech and most the use of he’s legs
Why didn’t at least one of them accompany Jim to the hospice?
Probably cuz Jim wasn't an easy father. Max certainly didn't bother going after Jim gave him a good belting as a child and thought it was him who locked him in a coffin but later found out it was actually Derek.
