    oh my gosh that’s INCREDIBLY frustrating, and your feelings are so valid. i’m so sorry this is happening to you đŸ„ș fairyloot has become such a frustrating company as of late - there’s so many issues and the quality has gone way down in general. I hope you receive all of your packages safe and sound! I always look forward to your unboxings đŸ€

    Holy sh** ! I had no idea that it was so bad for Fairyloot subscribers in Denmark ! I have heard a lot of complaints about Fairyloot delivery problems but I have never had a problem with it so far (I've been a subscriber since last September). Well one book arrived a little bit damaged because of the rain and Fairyloot don't protect their books enough.
    Though I must say I've always had issue with their shipping rate to the EU. It is way overpriced. I literally live on the other side of the English channel (Northern France), and I know perfectly well that it doesn't cost 11ÂŁ or 14ÂŁ (fairy trove) to send ONE book there. Most UK based book boxes has a shipping rate around 7ÂŁ. There is no justification for that difference. Well there is one : Fairyloot is making money on the back of their foreign customers so the UK ones can continue having special editions at a cheap price.
    That, added to their very poor handling of other issues raised by customers, made me distrustful of the company as a whole.
    Since I'm interested by the July and August books and my skips are renewing in September, I will unsubscribe as soon I run out of them again.

      I also don't understand why their delivery prices are higher than IC, who are also shipping from the UK (to the rest of Europe). Never understood it đŸ€·â€â™€ïž
      They use the same delivery company when it arrives here in Denmark, so it must be the prices they set for the UK part of the travel, but... it doesn't make sense to me. Go look for a better deal or something 😂
      I haven't trusted them since they did that charity thing with As Long As the Lemon Trees Grow, where they just raised the price of the book from 23 pounds (which it originally was) to 24 pounds to donate 1 pound per sale. They're not donating anything, they're making the customers do it lol
      Rubbed me the wrong way for sure...
      And yeah, only sticking around until my skips are up and I'm going to be very picky with which ones I end up getting as I am soooo done 😅

    Yikes, I'm so sorry this happened! t's ridiculous that they expected you to go to a city an hour and a half away to get your package! I had a similar situation once where my book got sent back to the UK with no explanation (I'm in France), but it eventually made its way to me. Still, I didn't hear a thing from Fairyloot about it, and eventually had to email and ask about it after a month of this book being lost in the postal ether. (They were nice in their response, but it was basically along the lines of "haha we don't know what's going on! lol love you!" Okay, that's great, but shouldn't you know something? 😂). And I've also received a few damaged books from them.
    Fairyloot's lack of transparency is such an issue for me, and honestly I might cancel my subscription soon. They can't control the post, but they can control how they address any potential issues, and how they treat their customers. Recently, there was an issue with extra duties and fees in various European countries with The Broken Binding that we normally do not have to pay. They kept us informed about the situation consistently (and not just through vague social media comments that are impossible to find, but actual emails) and they provided detailed yet easy instructions to get a refund once we we had paid the extra fees. They started the refund process within the hour after I emailed them my receipt.
    Anyway, the point of this long-winded rant was: damn Fairyloot, it's really not that hard to provide good customer service. Other companies do it all the time.

    • @ImRosaYT
      @ImRosaYT  Pƙed měsĂcem +1

      That’s the thing - they know and have confirmed this is an issue that’s reaching people outside of Denmark as well (they confirmed this to me and made it sounds like that’s why they’ll look into it
 finally), and they have a huge social media platform (specially IG), why not write something or acknowledge they’re looking into it??
      It could probably result in fewer support tickets opened, and lessen the load on their customer supporters.
      There’s zero transparency publicly which sucks, but then also on top of that, as someone who’s paid for my April book, but haven’t received anything about it yet, am being left in the dark privately regarding that situation too.
      Transparency isn’t a bad thing and it’s okay to acknowledge publicly that they’re aware of certain issues. No business is perfect, no reason to pretend they are either 😅

    I can’t believe fairyloot haven’t addressed the shipping issues and that they’ve put your subscription on hold without providing a solution! Their customer service has gone downhill recently!
    I’ve also had issues with fairyloot recently. I asked where I was on the YA subscription waitlist and their response was “we have removed you” I then asked why they’ve removed me and where they were up to on the waitlist and they said “ We removed you because you asked and the waitlist is up to November” I subscribed on 20th November so I was so close and their only recommendation was for me to add my email back to the waitlist again 🙄

      @@ImRosaYT Yeah! I’m not sure if they misunderstood my email but I wasn’t willing to argue over it when I got the romantasy subscription when it was released 😂 I’ve just watched another CZcamsr called “Welsh Reader” and she’s said that fairyloot didn’t respond to her email about doing a 2nd month in a row skip so the money was taken from her bank and she’s now got the book! It seems like everyone has got customer service issues with fairyloot at the moment 😭😂

    did you ever get the book with the shredded pages replaced? i forget which book that was but remember gasping when you showed it.
    it’s very odd to place your subscription on hold without speaking to you first.

      @@ImRosaYT that’s quite petty of them. if it’s a kind of damage that isn’t obvious when unboxing the book and can basically only be noticed when reading the book, or flicking through all the pages, exceptions should be made. at the very least a refund or store credit is in order. what a horrible service đŸ„ș

    That is so frustrating! I definitely feel like their customer service has gone down hill this year. Several of my books have come with big damage done to the spines and edges and they just say nothing can be done.

      I'm still super bummed because of my Foul Heart Huntsman edges. I can see 3 layers of the motif unaligned on top of each other, and it's making the edges super blurry.
      They wouldn't replace it though 😅

    I'm an international subscriber as well and I have shipping issues with FT from the very beginning (since 2020). I'm living in a block of apartments, so I need to have a building's and a flat's number in my address - they (or their fullfillment centre) ALWAYS miss one or the other. I've written soooo many emails and the issue is still not resolved in 2024 xD Illumicrate and Owlcrate can somehow deliver (almost) undamaged books to the correct address - Fairyloot? Never. And their shipping is the most expensive.

    • @ImRosaYT
      @ImRosaYT  Pƙed měsĂcem +2

      Illumicrate ALWAYS, no exceptions, delivers to the pick-up point closest to my home. Every. Single. Time.
      The address is written the exact same way on both their websites and the delivery company they use on arrival here in Denmark is the same one, it makes zero sense.

      @marcelinochlebiwino3354 Pƙed měsĂcem +1

      @@ImRosaYT Illumicrate uses Maersk and FT uses Evri - I think that might be the cause of the problems. The final delivery company for me is always DPD with Illumi and at least three different companies for FT's books xD With two of those I am generally able to redirect parcels to the pick up point, but if the parcel goes with the third one - it's just pure luck whether a postman has a lazy day and just leaves it at a post office to collect or delivers to one of my few thousands neighbours xD The other problem for me is the packaging - boxes are too thin and cloth bags are just not good enough for the international transportation. But the saddest thing of it all is, that I will still buy their books, becaue they are very beautiful and I suffer from fomo issue ^^

      Where do you live and how much to you pay for shipping for Owlcrate if you don't mind me asking ? I'm thinking of switching to them...

    • @ImRosaYT
      @ImRosaYT  Pƙed měsĂcem +1

      I can only speak for Denmark, but as far as I remember I paid VAT through their website, so it doesn't have to go through customs with the extra fees here on arrival. And I've never had issues with any of their books arriving damaged or anything like that to be honest.
      You can find info on their VAT here help.owlcrate.com/en-US/vat-for-products-shipping-to-the-eu-113397

      @@ellyra412 I live in Poland and pay usd 26 for the shipping of a YA book and goodies box plus usd 8.00 of vat at the point of purchase. The box goes through customs, but all I usually pay is the handling fee of usd 1.50. When I preorder single books the shipping is usd 15.00, but if I want to buy a book that already came out from their store the shipping goes up to usd 37.00 xD But I keep in mind this box needs to travel half the world to get to me. In comparison, when I preorder a single book form FT I pay gbp 17.00. Also, recently Owlcrate books tend to be stunning, always hand signed by authors, there are unlimited skips, so I think it's worth to just get one box to check them out.

    Fairyloot are being ridiculous! You have every right to complain... And you should probably send another email to remind them of the missing book they charged you for! 😅 I'm in Sweden, and while I haven't had any issues with Fairyloot in the past, they always take ages to ship and they use a courier company I don't like. Pickup points are at least in my town (I feel bad for you Danes though), but not very close to my house. Illumicrate boxes always arrive at the pickup point down the street, and Owlcrate makes it all the way to my mailbox! I'm not subscribed to Fairyloot anymore, because I find it strange they pretty much charge as much as Owlcrate does for shipping, even though it's the UK vs US đŸ€·đŸŒâ€â™€ïž

    This is ridiculous. They are so stubborn about replacing damaged books (they really need to improve their packaging as well), and they keep presenting special editions for pre-order, getting people to splurge their money, then months later saying 'due to xyz these features have been removed or changed' - Fourth Wing was supposed to have a signature, they didn't even say it wouldn't before sending the books out. And now Howl's Moving Castle - no longer a pearlescent finish and is instead holographic due to them being unhappy with the print. Wouldn't that be tested before putting something up for order? It seems ridiculous for a well established company.
