This is actually so dope I LOVE THIS UNIRONICALLY! Even though it’s a test the beginning with the game and running shoes, X losing patience and talking about violence is AMAZING! I can tell it was scrapped because it was obvious it was Sonic.EXE during the game line segment. So good!
I also can’t be the only one who likes the second segment better, it feels like it was mixed better with its intensity. The other phase 2 in og felt too slow and just off.

Okay, so I get that the main point here is the joke vocal test in the fakeout part, but I want to say that the tempo change in the final version of Obituary at 2:57 is, like, the best decision ever because it sounds like X stops playing and starts showing the real rules of his world with the whole change of tone and instrumentals. While in this version, the instruments and the tempo are the same, which is why it sounds rather emotionless. I'm just so happy that this song ended up like it is right now. The current version is probably better than every other exe related song not composed by sturm(maybe Final Escape is an exception) - it's literally a masterpiece and that, it would seem, insignificant change has made it like that. I will say again, this and the current faker part- ah, screw it, the whole song is the best decision ever. Bravo
