SUGESTÃO DE VÍDEO
Minha sugestão para um novo vídeo é como é passo a passo na formulação dos preços de venda. O que levar em conta, fatores que podem variar e como adicionar uma boa margem de lucro, além dos custos contabilizados.
Can you make a video on how you first started selling. I’m also new to the channel :) I love ur videos
can you make a video on grow room ventilation , how much fresh air needs to be exchanged and things which helped you guys to keep mold and fungus away . thanks
give us price lists for "per oz." microgreens you sell?????????? eric.soprano@yahoo.com
I'm about to set up something in the family barn. Are you restricted to local restaurants? Which lights do you use? Would microgreens not benefit from hydroponics? More nutrients, shorter time to grow?
One thing I’d really love to learn about from those of you that are successful already is how do you approach restaurants, local Whole Foods type stores etc. to ask for their business starting out? I totally realize that once you have a few shifts really like you it’s kind of easier from that point but how do you present your products to a chef when your brand new
Farmers market in the morning like really early right when they open chefs go to check out the local produce and stock up for the day just offer a small sample
this is key, I'm so excited but I want to get a hold of how to make sure I'm addressing restaurants w/ professional stature.
Next question is, how much produce does a grocery store typically expect every week or month going forward now once you agree to terms?
Thank you so much for your content! It’s so informative as I learn about the micro greens community and doing it for myself
I respect and love people like you who aspire for greatness and put in the work
This is beautiful
This is great! We’re growing rapidly as well!! We just started our initial conversations to start the business January and made our first sale and invoice April, since April we’re now up to 8 restaurants so this is crazy! It’s so great and awesome to be seeing others doing well! We grow together!
What a rush! Great work. Keep it rollin'!
Happy for you guys, wish me luck too 🙂
What is most popular?
Awesome I am so happy for you and your success Michael! I hope to be right there with you some day soon. Nate you rock thanks for everything. Amazing stuff and great information. 👍😀🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌹
Awesome, keep the videos coming! I enjoy your channel!!!! I’m a future microgreener in the making:)
I love to grow and I’m liking this idea it’s a great start up business with very little risk you just have to find the clients and sales are my speciality now I need to fill myself with knowledge lol
Hi. I am just wondering has it worked out for you?
I always subscribe when a homesteader or farmer (on any scale) says "crushing it"
Hey! Thanks for the great information really appreciated the tour. I was curious if there was any discussion in collaborating with the future grow operation for product distribution?
I absolutely want to join your mastermind group! I’m in Louisville Kentucky. I hope to hear more about the group coming up
Man great little farm, thanks for the content Nate!
Good stuff man, love the content
I’m super curious on the very first sales you made. I really want to start a high school micro greens fundraiser but I can’t figure out how to make the first few sales
Thanks foe the video, what lights are you using??
I'd love an update on how well your operation is doing!
Cool man, I accept all interesting information. I thank you for your help.
What would you recommend as greens to start out with?
Amazing tour Michael. I appreciate it
Thanks for stopping by!
@@MicrogreensFarmer I like your Rack system, these aren't easily available in Mumbai.
On microgreens, is it better to grow inside a building with grow lights or in a greenhouse with natural light?
This is what I want to do on the small island I live on. We are packed with high end eateries and resorts that have a demand for microgreens. I'm pretty good at growing cannabis (it's legal here), but want to expand into sprouts.
Awesome. I am very interested in this for sure
what kind of lights are those; standard fluorescence bulbs? what are thoughts about red/blue lights?
What’s the spacing between the different levels on those racks?
Hi am real impressed with micro green business am in Africa in Tanzania I want to start this business very soon
In answering one of the questions about what medium you use I see you're now going to switch to hydroponic. Does this mean you will be updating your course so that people have the best information. I was thinking of purchasing your course until I did more research and decided that hydroponic was the way to go with microgreens
Which plants are covered in plastic on the germination rack and why?
Thank you.🌸
please share what bulbs you are using. a link if possible. how many you daisy chained to one power source!! thanks
For once and honest walkthrough, thank you
Great video . Thank You.
Sweet setup! I'm curious how crucial having 2 lights per shelf is versus just one for optimal growth? Also what sort of health regulations are you dealing with growing indoors? Thanks for the info y'all excited to see more!
also curious to know this, i was thankin the same thing (also what brand/models are the lights and racks?)
Brick that you put on plants.how much does it weight?
See you at the webinar tomorrow!
I don’t know if it’s because this video is four months old and I’m just now seeing it but there are no links connected to the video. I’m really interested in the master mind
Hey there, future microgreen consultant, I am currently in school for Operations Management and I noticed a simple way to increase your production just by watching this video and hearing the future of what you want to do with your grow space. turning the whole allotment of your grow shelves from facing at the camera to being aligned with your germination shelf will increase your production and streamline your process and will help flow your process better from germ to grow to harvest. I don't see linking on your shelves but that would help with moving more at a time as well. Best to you guys. Newb microgreen grower here but experiment 4 is underway.
Thanks for your assessment. There are electrical/space restrictions that force us to do things this way. We had to conform to an existing space versus building a space to fit our grow. We are currently in a new space that is much more streamlined. Also, rarely, if ever do our racks get moved so linking them is not a project worth pursuing at this time.
How long does the crops last in the freezers
How do I go about starting this business?
Will I need a license? Are there classes I can take to learn more about growing the plants?
I want to see how you are watering in your system?
May i ask you what you charge on average for a pound of microgreens or 8oz to restaurants
can you recommend grow light ?
Found you through Donny Greens!
Thanks!
what kind of seeds are useing?
Very interested...what are the products that you're selling
Do you ever see differences between the bottom tray's (in germination) vs the top, different pressures etc.?
Minimal to none. We generally throw heat loving grips on top ie Basil.
Michael, just wondering what microgreens you started out with when you first started selling to restaurants? Thank you
Pea tendrils, mild mix, red garnet mustard.
Just watched your workshop the picture of you and your daughter is too cute !
Parabéns pelo vídeo.
Falo diretamente do BRASIL e estou prestes a iniciar minha micro produção verde.
Vender bandejas verdes micro completas?
Parabéns pelo canal
what sort of lighting does he use?
Awesome thanks

What greens are most profitable and easy to sell?
noticed they use two light tubes per rack level, whats the wattage on each tube?
54watts per bulb. We’ve since switched to a single tube per shelf on our original grow racks and invested in a new LED configuration for a portion of our grow.
Nice set-up. Thanks for sharing.
❤I am so thankful for you 🙏
What are the best lights to use , There are so many options, was wondering if you know the best type of lights to use.
That’s the million dollar question. We’ve done just fine with a basic t5 light. But also see merits in LEDS red vs blue etc.
Dear Sir. I am from India and good to know about this as a food technologist
Nice farm! It would be great to hear which microgreens you sell to restaurants and how that decision is made--whether you offer only a selection of fast-and-easy growers, or do you take custom orders. Thanks!
I was wondering that also, should I contact restaurants in my area first to see what demands they have before I start buying seeds? or just start growing what most restaurants use only later to find out that there is a new fad in some other microgreen.
What's the growing medium? Coir pith?....
curious what you do with the soil.after youve hrvested the greens?
We just signed a lease on a 2.5 acre farm. We will attempt to implement a compost program. Currently it just goes to the landfill. (An unfortunate spot for it currently. )
Are there some good alternative packaging materials which are transparent and not made of plastic ?
Absolutely.
Hey there, I have a question. I live in South Florida and I am getting started with my first batch of micro greens. I’ll be doing lettuce, radiche, broccoli and eventually will get to peas and other micros. I live in an apartment that gets about 4-5 hours of sunlight per day, and I have a balcony that I could put a grow rack on. The problem I see is that it rains almost every day down here (which I could get around) but it is VERY humid and hot (like 85-95 degrees this time of year). I don’t have much room to grow or have a grow rack inside. Is it possible to grow outside in humidity, and if so what recommendations do you have for me?
mark alexander same. I’ve been wondering the same questions. I live in Orlando Florida. With same weather
mark alexander watch seeds of xanxadu on ig he does it outside. My recommendation is to put plastic up on the balcony if allowed and use a dehumidifier to thwart the humidity. I also live in Miami and I’m considering doing this when I get a new shed in my backyard. I’ve been trying to do outdoor growing but our weather is total trash for it. My end goal is to do market gardening and sell at Aventura mall during the farmers market
They have rebates for LEDs for all commercial growing. Don't overspend without looking into them!
I saw an app that may work for sourcing growers called Huggery.
Cool!
hello! amazing video! Are these soil based microgreens?
We compressed peat moss with added lime, perlite, organic powdered nutrient. Thanks for the question.
Great video 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!
Do you spray the tops of the trays at the germination stage?
Yes. After the trays are seeded they get watered. Then stacked. Some crops don’t get stacked but get humidity dimes instead.
Is there a link for the racks that Michael is using? What are the dimensions? Great video thank you
We purchased the 6shelf shop racks from home depot (4ft long). The brand is "Trinity". They are superior in cost and quality than others we've bought. And they come with casters. I dont have exact dimensions off hand.
***My apologies, our racks are the Trinity racks from COSTCO. We used to buy from Home Depot but Costco's were superior in every way.
Thats awesome guys.... im curious what a restaurant typically pays for greens and what greens you typically sell to places.
NiftyFiftyFour great question
I have some restaurants pay $80 weekly and others that drop $1000 weekly during peak months. We have a mix of 10-15 different crops at any given time.
@@TPSDmike impressive....I'd really be interested in learning more about this and doing it in my own area. We have a small valley a lot of fancy restaurants, lots of outdoor farming around us
how about a master price list for the 10 most grown microgeens??? for us newbies
Put some work in and find out for yourself 😊
what is the medium you grow the Microgreens in?
We currently use Organic Promix but are in the process of switching to a hydro system for many different reasons now that we've reached a higher scale.
Would you mind letting us know the rack dimensions please?
4' wide, 18"deep and a little over 6' tall
I will do the same as they are, but also harvest algae spirulina
how did you get the restaurant's to buy herbs from you?
We studied what a high end Microgreen looked like. We grew to the best of our ability focusing on flavor, color, size, consistency and shelf life. We took the best samples we had and walked directly through the back door of the restaurant kitchens. (No appointment or anything) We’d ask the first person we’d see where we could find the executive chef. Then, showed them our samples, told them why people have been choosing to work with us and asked them if they’d like to as well. It took some practice and some nerve to get over but it is extremely effective. Not once have I had a chef question why I just helped myself through the back.
How do you approach restaurants for sales?
Michael told me he has around a 90% close rate for new restaurant clients. I can't wait to hear exactly how he does it on the mastermind meeting. I hope you can join us. Maybe that will also be a topic for a future video.
I do have a "selling to restaurants checklist" that comes with my course training, and I also go over making your first sale to restaurants in my free quick start guide available at microgreensfarmer.com Cheers!
3k a week from tht small garden wow!!
How long does microgreens stay good after harvest? How long can it stay in the cooler and what temp should it be?
In which country and city
MANJIT BHATT California, USA
How long can you store the microgreens in the fridge?
Shelf life varies per crop. So far we’ve tested up to 3weeks
What is a good soil to grow?
Organic Promix has done very well for us.
is microgreen farming different then vertical farming?
Microgreen farming can be done vertically as well as on a singular level plain.
@Runner Farmer what lights do u use ?
Thanks!
We have several different varieties all of which produce different results. I have not found "one best" solution. Many/most will work. I've used shop lights, grow specific lights and LED. All do the job. :)
These videos are a great intro to microgreens and get the creative juices flowing but I never seem to see any videos on how to get the business startup going. I NEVER see anyone talk about the health regulations that abound for any type of production in the food chain etc, these are types of real information that newbies need - not just wow you can make $3000/week. Also is that $3000 net or gross - $3000 net is still only about 75K/yr. so unless it is just you doing everything and no one else 75K isn't much... What are his weekly hrs invested and his costs for warehouse, supplies, utilities, delivery etc.
Imagine saying that 3k a week equals 75k a year. You must be good at maths
Whats keeping the BIG growers not to do this if there is money in this market?
Whats the nutrition difference in traditional grrens vs these "micro". Any documented numbers?
There ARE big growers doing this. Google will provide you with the answers you need regarding nutrition
How much does it cost in electricity for your grow lights?
That will depend on your local rates and what and how many lights your running. I recommend these low cost LEDs that I recently bought: amzn.to/2XMVrv4 (affiliate link)
@@MicrogreensFarmer
Thank you
Last month's electric bill was $256.00. We run our lights 16hrs a day.
How do you approach a restaurant or store ?
we walk in the back door of the restaurants and ask for the head chef.
What is the temperature of the whearhouse?
It fluctuates between 72and 80 degrees F
Hi I wants to learn more about micro greens
I know he talks about ski town but where is this located?
It's in Orem, UT - he sells to restaurants in park city
Thanks Nate. I was in the webinar today. Great stuff!
how do you start, how do you find customers?
Start by growing test trays. Get consistent in your grow and then pound the pavement.
Are micro-greens more profitable to grow? Maybe you could make more growing something else? Did you do a market reaserch?
More profitable to grow than what? Maybe you could make more growing something else. Yes, we did a market research.
Is $3000 a week the profit or does it. It include cost of production?
Gross. So, not very impressive when you factor in expenses.
What insurance do you have in order to sell to businesses?
$1,000,000 from farm bureau
i like to move to sw colorado and do this but i need a partner, sir,im just a disabled dude in wheelchair, looking for employment, then i watched a video simular to this making money growing microgreens,ya know food shortages/crop loss will come to the USA eventualy ,doing this is a great thing, again i need a hook up.
I would like to join the mastermind group.
What temperature must be in such room?
We try and shoot for 72-75 dgeees with 60% or less humidity
@@TPSDmike
Thank you!
what lights did he used?
4ft T5 High Output lights from @PowerGrowSystems
how much is the profit % each week
Not even 20% at the moment. Scaling is a bitch.
How do you water ??
We water from the bottom by hand. It's extremely inefficient once you get to a certain scale. We are starting to feel the pain/waisted time doing it this way. A more automated system is currently in the works.
