Geoff I absolutely love Dreamland Margate, been going there since the late 1960s and yep there's been some changes over the years, good and bad. Let's hope Dreamland keeps going on for like ever 👍

Yes definitely Ricky. I remember going there when I was about 4 years old can you believe, to me they were all gigantic toys. My Dad worked on various rides when it belonged to Dreamland First Leisure, He was an engine driver for the Miniature Railway, he also worked on the river caves and Sky wheels too and that was in the early sixtees, but left in the late sixtees. It has gone through many changes over the years, I remember a period where most of the rides had been removed leaving lots of empty spaces and removing all the magic athmosphere that we once had. So it was so good in 2015 when they started a new project and filled a fair amount with rides and attractions. I would like to see that top section crammed with rides and attractions once again. Thanks for stopping by Ricky. Hope all is well with the family and roll on when all the lockdowns do finally come to an end. Regards and best wishes. Geoff

Amazing video Geoff, really enjoyed and displayed a lot of good footage in there, good to see Dreamland with a mix of both vintage, classic rides & coasters alongside modern day attractions. Just hope this is something they do again in future? But guess will for now have to wait & see? Think it could do with more modern day coasters, an indoor area that remains open all year with a lot of themed indoor attractions and rides aswell coasters. Think it would be amazing for this park to have both an indoor area aswell big outdoor space. But again, will have to wait & see? Saw you suggested on your Dreamland Planet Coaster creation about a Rapids water ride could be added? Agreed 100% think this is something I would love to see? If not a log flume a.k.a water chute? With a unique theme? Who knows? Apparently they do have big plans for future, so will have to see what they come up with. But cheers for filming, uploading and sharing. Saw Pinball X in video, rode that ride in Hastings weekend just gone & filmed two POV's for that which will be uploaded at some point in the future. Found it a bit jolty, but it was all good. Cheers again. 😀👍

Thanks Daniel. This was probably my first ever visited Amusement Park as I used to live about 5 minutes awy from it. During the 60s and 70s it seemed a fantastic place to be, but as the years went by there became less and less rides, especially the large static rides like the River Caves which was really popular. It's good what they did to it in 2015 and improved each year right up to 2019. Then the pandemic came for 2020 and the park stayed closed all year. When it finally opened it was only certain times, missing out on major holidy periods. Through all this time they sold a fair amount of rides but still appear to open now and then. It sems that 2019 was a point reached and has now gone backwards, hopefully they will be in a position once again to get back on track and take it beyond the 2019 point. Take care and thanks for stopping by. Regards to you. Geoff

I was writing to say hello and I hope you are doing well. Have a great day. By the way, the job is going well and it’s great here in South Carolina.

I'll have to go to Dreamland one day, so many lovely rides. I'd like to know if there is anything where you are in your stockingfeet like a Fun House and trampolines.

Great footage !! I love this park and every time I go it has changed since it reopened in 2016, just wish it would stay open, it was the only park in the UK that didn’t open up after the Covid pandemic
Just wondering when this video was filmed ??

I filmed this one back in 2019 and then like you pointed out the only one not to open after the pandemic. I think it opened for a few weeks last year and has re-opened on the 29th May 2022. It opened that late due to the park and cinema building used for filming. Sam Mendes has been Producing Diecting etc, Olivia Colman stars, Colin Firth, Toby Jones and others. The Movie will eventually hit Cinema's under the Name of Empire Of Light. They changed the wording on the Cinema building from Dreamland to Empire, so hopefully we should see the seafront and parts of Dreamland ina more proffesional Hollywood style which will be interesting.
Back to Dreamland and you'll be sad to learn that a great deal of the rides have gone. I think it's called the Dreamcatcher in the top end and those flying planes Gone. The Full sized Helter Skelter has now been replaced with one of those smaller ones that are often at the end of piers, I'm not sure about the Twister but I do knoew that he Wild Mouse Coaster is gone. I'm hoping they will eventually re-fill the park with more rides again. There is a couple of good concerts coming through the summer including Simply Red. Well thanks for stopping By I do watch a great deal of your own upload. Best wishes. Geoff

It is quite a fun place to go Ashley. It's been through many changes over the years but was first built back in 1920, prior to that it was a circus and zoo park further back into the late 1800s. Have a great weekend. Geoff

I went today with the family and I’m sad to say dreamland is not like how it appears in this video, this must be old footage because all the rides shown such as the scenic railway and the jets was closed in fact the jets wasn’t there, as of COVID dreamland only have a few rides open and some temporary rides for this event they got at the moment called summer social. It is a shame and hope things go back to how they appear in this video shown.

Hi Josh. Yes I also visited this year and as you just mentioned only half the area is open and some of those rides appear to be missing altogether. I did read that they may have sold one or two because of the extreme loss of Money due to the pandemic of 2020. They have promised replacements and more once they start to re-cuperate their losses. I remember it so well back in the 60s and 70s where it was crammed with many rides in the top, side and bottom sections, it would be good to see that again. Check out something I did as a re-creation of the 1960s park a how it once looked. czcams.com/video/9S5tDOdP09Q/video.html Best wishes. Geoff Dean.

I last went the year before the Covid outbreak and the Caterpillar wasn't there then. I asked a ride attendant where it was and he told me the first day it was in operation it broke down and they were never able to get it working again. So they scrapped it. And if you walk round the park you can see some of the carriages from the caterpillar here and there for seating.
