SWF 300 Subscriber Contest Fly

- Thank you everyone for helping reach 300 subscribers. It has been a blast. I have gotten so much great feedback that I think my tying has gotten better since starting. The contest will be the same. We will pick a a subscriber that leaves a great comment and send both the flies featured. For 200 we could not decide so we put around 10 names in a hat and my wife pulled out the winning name. I ended up sending the fly from the video plus a bonus fly to Portland Oregon. The contest will end on August 31. We will reach out to the winner and let everyone know where we sent the fly when we hit 400 subscribers. Thanks again for watching and good luck catching, SWF

Congrats on 300 subscribers 👏 black & purple is always awesome color in low light or dirty water,use a black & purple Clouser Minnow for bass & do great,this is a great place to sub out the purple bucktail with faux bucktail by Fish Skull a little stiffer & make a great prop for the rabbit strip😊
I'm really gIlad you like the fly. I love the black and purple when im fishing in Chockoloskee on the west coast of South Florida. I learned to use that color combo when I was visiting a friend that lives in Louisiana.
I actually have a few flies that I tie with Faux Bucktail but I try to not push too many brands. I tie some streamers where I blend colors and I find that the Faux Bucktails is great for blending colors. I blend it with enough natural Bucktail so that the flies have some good action. I can definately see how it would work great on the contest fly. I'm going to need to order some. Thanks for the tip and for watching the video. Good luck catching, SWF.

I agree, the yellow eyes look great, but I always have some with red eyes. For some reason I think I get more bites from Saltwater species with red eyes. I might be a little supersticious. Thanks for watching, Good luck with the contest, SWF
I love flies that are simple but effective. I can't wait to try this in a smaller version for speckled trout and/or redfish here in Louisiana.
That sounds great, remember to use a heavy enough hook so that the fly keels correctly. Don't forget that the zonker needs to be completely wet for it to sink and swim for you. I would love to see a picture of your creation and some fish pics would be amazing. Good luck catching, SWF.
