  • Ex-Dakar Rally Racer and Adventure Rider, Jenny Morgan, gives us a detailed rundown of the new bolt-on Adventure Kit for the BMW G310GS from UK-based Rally Raid Products. The kit includes everything to transform the budget-oriented Baby GS into a more off-road capable and better all-around adventure bike. As part of her role as a test rider for Rally Raid, she’s been instrumental in developing the new adventure kit. During our discussion, she describes some of the weak points addressed in the stock BMW G310GS, improvements gained, differences between the ‘Level 1’ and ‘Level 2’ kits, how the bike compares to the Rally Raid CB500X Adventure and more! Have a feeling we're gonna be seeing more of Jenny lol there's no denying that what she did with the G310GS in the amount of time (or lack thereof) we had to wait to be able to get these kits for the G310GS is nothing short of incredible based on how small of an operation shes running (that is the impression I've gotten anyway).. Meanwhile she personally has put a few thousand miles on the G310GS lol talk about living and breathing Adventure bikes, this is a truly rare and impressive display of individual effort made here. No doubt in order to snatch up an entire lucrative markets worth of products in one fell swoop and I bet theres gonna be a lot of these kits going around and not much of else on these bikes

    This is what my G310GS wants to be when it grows up.
    I wish BMW made a G310GS Adventure, with a larger fuel tank, spoke tubeless wheels, engine protection and upgraded suspension. All of that is available in the aftermarket (thanks Rally Raid!) except the larger fuel tank, and for my old man adventures, that's the feature I'd most like to have.

    Excellent detailed review of the different upgrade kits available for the mini-GS. Jenny really knows her stuff and explains it well. The tracks you show demonstrate its broad capability. I'll bet many riders here would think twice about tackling them even on an enduro, much less a 400 pound ADV rig. Lighter ADV rigs will bring more new riders into the industry at a lower entry cost and they can gain confidence before moving up to bigger bikes, if they so desire.

  • @norsefalconer
    @norsefalconer Před 5 lety +4

    So, around $8K+ all said and done? There's the price point you need to come under with the 390 Adv, KTM. Of course, there's always the RE Himalayan, with most of these upgrades already included in the sub $5K pricing, as well as a larger fuel tank. Yeah, it's heavier, but add $3K in suspension and motor upgrades, and I think the prop bike would pale in comparison, maybe the orangesicle too.

      The best way is to go to a dealer and sit on it - ask them to put the bike up on axle stands so it is level and not tipped over on the side stand. Or have someone hold the motorcycle from the front to keep it level and you sit on it and try the reach to the floor.

    • @ADVPulseVideos
      @ADVPulseVideos  Před 6 lety

      Yeah, the seat height is reasonable but if you want it lower Rally Raid also offers a shorter ‘low’ version of their LEVEL 1 shock which immediately reduces the original seat height.
