I had this on my previous bike and intend on getting another for my current St1300. I definitely agree it's a worthwhile camera to have. Footage is clear enough for what most people will be using it for (considering these use the same sensor as most other £300+ bike dash cams) and even for capturing runs on nice roads when not using a GoPro. My major gripes with the system were the instructions (at least when I bought mine over a year ago) were mostly correct until it came to the controller, it didn't mention you can take pictures if you hold the button down for a second, so you can accidentally take a picture if you go over a bump saving a clip; the app is pretty shite and won't save the audio (think that's more a limitation of the file type); and the mounting hardware is a bit weak, but not unexpected for the price. My best advice for mounting is to mount high and slightly off-centre. Why I say that is to minimise loss or clarity/damage to the lens via spray/kick-up from the vehicle in front. For the money, it is the best option for a permanent/semi-permanent dash cam

Thanks for the review! I just started riding and am shocked at how unaware car drivers are. Think i'm gonna have to get one of these because I can imagine in the event of a fender bender, this will make life so much easier.

The reason I started riding with a camera is because I got hit and had no proof it was their fault.... Definitely worth having a camera of some sort 👍🏻👍🏻
      Safe riding mate 👍🏻

@@michael1968-m9b Definitely worth having a camera. You just never know. There are way to many distracted drivers nowadays. Worth every penny.... Plus you'll probably get loads of CZcams content 😂👍🏻

Thanks for that. Insurance companies want dashcam footage now. I didn't have a cam when someone reversed into me then lied 9 months later saying I caused £3000 of damage. I said it was a scam and took him to court. I knew he didn't have a cam as it would have proved his guilt. It went right down to a court date before he folded.
Get a dashcam, front and rear, and take photos even if there is no damage. I was told they can claim up to 18 months after an incident, so write down what happened as well.

That is a proper stress Lily 😳.
The reason I originally got a camera was after an accident on my V Strom 650... I didn't have a camera at the time, 3 years later it is finally all sorted but if I had a camera, Life would have been so much easier and would have proved them a liar too.
Even at work if it's our fault, we have been told to say it was their fault... World has gon nuts.

Great review Scotty. That's one thing I haven't fitted to the bike but all my cars have had cameras since 2014 and fortunately I've never had to use them as evidence

Thanks for the review. I'm retiring to Philippines and looking for something cheap to put on my 160cc scooter down there. This should do fine. I just need to find a way to do a semi-concealed mount of it.

he put this on a huge heavy cruiser bike, thats why the image is stable. you wont be able to see anything on a lighter bike, especially on philippines "roads"

So how does it handle vibrations? I have a big thumper (Honda XR650) and I would like it on either my bike or helmet

Sorry for the late reply.... It handles vibration very well but don't crush it under the seat like I did when there was no space for it.... I had to buy another one but It was my fault.

Really good review. Been using mine for over a year and the quality is v good. Question, how do you playback both front and rear footage synced at the same time as you review shows? Cheers.

Is the wire for the rear camera long enough to reach the rear window of a car from inside the dash, like if I mounted the DVR unit in my glove box of my car for easy access? Good review.

I cant find video of my rear canera, although video stream live in mobile app gor both cameras. I have same model

      @scotty_beast_rider  Před 9 měsíci +2

When you go into the app.... First it will have all the front footage but if you look at I think the top left corner, you will see a picture of a camera with two arrows, click that for rear camera footage 👍🏻
      Hopefully that helps

Can it be powered by USB? My bike has a USB slot that apparently works well for them, looking for something that will power up and switch off with the bike easily.
