Ngannou just got paid more for getting starched by Joshua than he did for becoming UFC champion
Francis probably took more Dmg in this fight than he would in a few MMA fights, Plus getting knocked out that like that may cost more than 20Mil

The utter contempt that last punch was thrown with was insane! Let’s be fair, he had no right being in the ring with AJ, and that last punch showed AJ thought that too.
I sorta saw that last punch as merciful. He had to get Francis out of there cause Francis has amazing willpower and would have kept getting up if AJ didn't just utterly turn him off. Otherwise, it would have been a one-sided schlacking that would have been even harder to watch.
@@TrainwreckAtalso as a sign of respect. There was so much focus on "Francis has never been knocked out" that he put so much behind that to get the job done

His haircoloring will be knocked off and he'd go back to his brown hair.
AJ didn't even bother to celebrate because he knew Ngannou had no business in that ring with him.
Ngannou fought the Lineal Heavyweight Champion to a split decision in his first ever boxing match, nothing is going to change that, you will never see any Boxer even be competitive in MMA in their first ever fight against a top talent, let alone go tooth and nail with the best, AJ himself said it easily could've been him, they were throwing wreckless and it was first to land wins, Ngannou never recovered from the first serious KD
@@ApotheNZ cling on to the Tyson Fury fight, that's all that's left.
If we can to go with "no boxer would ever compete in an MMA fight" route... Ray Mercer in his 50's 1 shotted Tim Sylvia who was only a couple years removed from his UFC heavyweight championship belt.
Also wouldn't make any sense for a boxer to fight for 500/500k split when they earn MILLIONS of dollars from boxing, which is why MMA fighters call out boxers

@@Nemoticon Bahahahaha! "The most dangerous man on the planet", a title given to him by Muppets that have no business saying it. Not even close to being the "most dangerous" fighter. Wow, he registered the highest punch force at one point. On a stationary object, of complete irrelevancy... What IS disingenuous. Is pretending an AMATEUR level boxer thrust to the top by hype, is any match for an actual professional boxer. A world champion in WBO, WBA, IBO, IBF (more than once in 3 of them). Has both gold and silver Olympic medals. Was prospect of the year. Had fight of the year. Was amateur of the year before going pro. Has been boxing for 16yrs, and has been professional for 11 of them. Clearly, the Ngannou narrative has got people gassed up. When in reality. He NEVER really stood a chance. And isn't even close to being on the same level as Anthony Joshua. So let's stop pretending this was some great feat by him, when in comparing the two. Anthony Joshua is clearly more in "the most dangerous man on the planet" territory, than Ngannou.
And at the end of the day. None of that matters any way. Nevada picks EVERY winner.
@@Nemoticonnot taking away from AJ, it’s just that boxers are typically more skilled with their hands compared to MMA fighters
Excellent breakdown! Francis is still a dangerous opponent, however, I think people forgot that just as there are levels to mma, there are levels to boxing and AJ has been showing that for years now.
Over a decade. He has carried hw boxing
People don't realise every AJ fight since the 1st rnd of the 2012 Olympics has been on live TV, he has had to deal with huge expectations and pressure even before turning pro.
AJ made easier work of Francis than he has of anyone in a loooong time (since the Charles Martin fight, maybe). AJ's got huge power, yes, but against high-level opponents, which he generally has faced, he wears them down and usually gets a mid-rounds KO, which puts into perspective Ngannou's chin and poor defence. Look at Wallin in AJ's last fight. Wallin's maybe Top 15 and got battered, but he still hung around for 5 rounds and ended the fight on his feet. Ngannou's journeyman level realistically. Would be interesting for him to stick around, sure, but I don't think he will now his jaw's been shattered and he's made good money doing it.
Joshua's pull counter that dropped Francis before he knocked him out was beautiful.
Great breakdown by DJ! Very intelligent.

There was only 1 boxer, not plural.

I’ve still never seen anyone knock people out the way Ngannou does. Short shovel hooks that barely look powerful putting dudes lights out
I can't believe dj thinks Aj would beat Francis in MMA. He has no chance. Francis would easily be able to get a takedown. He was able to take down Cyril Gane with a bum knee who has way better wrestling than AJ
Facts said the same thing and Dj should know francis showed alot of good kicks to keep stipe in range and set him up for punches, kicks alone from long range change the striking francis doesn't have to paw with his hand all day to get aj to react like he tried to do and got koed for it
Yeah I don’t think he remembers Cyril vs Ngannou my man channeled his inner Usman and didn’t even try to strike 😂
Dj gotta be jealous of francis or something cause no way he said such nonsense.
He literally said “unless Francis takes him down”. Most of the Francis game plan happens in the stand up. That said, he would probably change that and try to do the whole fight on the ground against josh.
If he tried to exchange in striking with Joshua in an MMA match the result would probably be fairly similar outside of the clinch.
Honestly surprised why he even brought that up.
I'm glad TheWeasle pointed this out, because DJ usually has very good analysis, but to think that Francis would willingly strike in an MMA bout after what he did to Gane when he had barely one functional knee...
Even in standup there isn't much AJ could do because landing a leg kick whilst having a high guard would be likely the end of AJ as he would try to capitalize on the range and try to land a shot before falling over because he isn't used to taking a leg kick.
I appreciate your analysis!
Excellent, you have become my favorite MMA channel.
A lot of people was overselling Ngannou's durability especially with years of taking punches and kicks from MMA and Fury unable to knock him out. But, Fury was never a big puncher like AJ. He KOs his opponents by forcing his weight to exhaust them. That didn't work on Ngannou because he's big and strong. Then there's the Ngannou's punching power and Joshua's frail chin. Of course, Joshua knows this and didn't give him a chance to chin check. To he honest, I was also sold on the possibility of Ngannou's KOing AJ, the AJ's KO victory was a surprise for me. I expected AJ to win by decision with Ngannou's durability in mind.
"Let's Go Champ"!😅
Listen, There is no way in hell Ngannou could ever chin check AJ, boxers puncher more accurately, precisely and more powerful than any blow landed in MMA, this is all they do, all they do, McGregor looked like he had death hands in MMA came to boxing and looked pillow fisted.

Joshua is an Olympic medalist, he is better than people give him credit for and needed a showing like this. Poor Francis, that was really hard to watch today.
He’s the best heavyweight of this generation, but it doesn’t read that way when you look at his losses. The loss to Ruiz was odd, although he completely schooled him in the rematch, and the two fights v Usyk he was trying to beat Usyk at his own game. I thought he won the second one if I’m honest. Now with Ben Davison he’s looking like the AJ we all expected him to be. At his best, nobody beats AJ.

As an Ngannou fan who loves MMA infinitely more than current boxing and doesn't like Joshua, I'm at least glad for the win for boxing itself with everyone mugging it off as just a sport as if people's souls can't be taken like this.
Sad truth is more ppl pass away in boxing than in MMA. There has been at least 3 in past 2 years i can think of just off the top of my head. Those gloves allow for more repetitive concussive blows to the head, where as in 4 oz MMA gloves you just get KOd
Boxing is extremely dangerous. It's become less so due to rounds restrictions, better pre fight medicals and refs jumping in before it is clear that the corpse of a fighter is not coming back. Boxing is also king of the streets against multiple opponents, so there's that. In a one on one challenge match, I'll take a skilled mma guy, assuming he's good at both the striking and the wrestling not just one. Those fights are often fights of choice though, rather than how fights go down in the real world. I can say this from experience even though I am a small skinny guy. Not ONCE did anyone every square up on me. I was once sucker punched with my back turned and then other times mobbed. And that's pretty typical.
Idc what happened, the look on Tyson Fury's face after getting knocked down by Ngannou will always be the funniest thing in boxing for me 😅

At least Francis got 20 MILLION for 5 minutes of work; for comparison, Jones's entire net worth is 10 million after being in the UFC since 2009.
I mean Jones is at fault for that too a bit for getting into trouble which keeps him out of the sport and then also ducking Ngannou for 3 years nearly just to sign the papers the moment Gane was available instead of Ngannou. Glad to see an honest breakdown. Too many MMA guys dismiss boxing as just a lesser sport, with less skilled fighters. yeah we saw how pereira is absolutely helpless when he gets taken down. The same thing is probably gonna happen to a pure boxer who has no grappling experience too. but it's the heavyweight and aj is one of the hardest punchers of boxing while also being a conventional boxer, so he'd always have a puncher's chance that might intimidate some people.
Yeah as a boxing guy idk about that. He'd need a long camp to learn to stuff take downs and other stances and he's older, now if he's really in his head and/or Francis chin is gone (I doubt it, maybe there's a crack there, but I doubt everyone is knocking him out in the next few years)..... The main problem with Francis is who does he fight. If Fury doesn't fight Usyk he'll be a complete joke and no one will want to see the rematch. I suspect that Usyk with either shut him out and make him look a fool or KO him. Not too much money for the rematch then. Wilder is still very dangerous. So is fat Andy. Most of the other guys have one foot on the banana peel or are unknowns who will be great matchups if Francis had five years to wait. What Francis has to hope is Usyk loses both fights. If that happens and Fury doesn't get on whatever he was on again, I don't think he has more than a 1/100 lucky shot chance to beat him, but he can just take a decision loss probably losing every round. But he shouldn't get hurt too badly. One thing combat guys should remember is sometimes less is more. Jerry Quarry had a decent pile of cash and some businesses and his own father told him it was time to quit after a one sided beating by Ali. Quarry kept going and got beaten into Alzheimer's.
AJ got humbled by andy ruiz honestly
usyk?
Great to see that AJ was aware of and so he never got hit with one of Ngannou's illegal behind the ear/ brainstem left hook punches
As soon as Francis went southpaw I thought 'oh no'. Some Heavyweight boxers really struggle with southpaws due to a lack of experience fighting them. Joshua has fought plenty of southpaws and his powerful straight right hand is the perfect punch against them.
I’m hoping that the MMA fans that were disrespecting Boxing as a sport have learned to respect it.
I respect MMA, I would others could do the same for our sport.
