Yea...sad that he didn't feel brave enough to go for it and win the 500k. No guts no glory, as they say. So many people keep thinking "oh well you shouldn't risk that money if you're not 100% sure of the answer" but if every contestant played that way we would never have a single top prize winner not named John Carpenter. Not that you should guess at such a high level but if you're reasonably confident in the answer like he was you should go for it; you're only in that seat once.
@@markymark443 Yeah it wasn't even really a risk because early on he calmly worked out the answer, he just spent the next few minutes letting the doubt creep in and he ended up talking himself out of going for it.
@@saintjimmy456in fairness, when you’re not sure when the other prime ministers were in charge, It does make the doubt bigger. It’s easy for us to say this in the comments but when there’s £218,000 at risk. The pressure must be immense
@@jackbutler3594 I think the way the show is, is ultimately fairer. Lots of game shows are endorphin pushers, like slot machines and scratchcards and timeshare propositions. I think the tense music ultimately saved people more money than lost them money they were spooked out of going for. It's why I think the show keeps coming back after being pronounced dead often, the only issue it ever has is exhaustion.
It's crazy how the old "Millionaire" used to work. Not only there was no need for "final answer" but in some cases they just mumbled the answer and the host was like "congratulations, next question"!
the 500 pound question was the closest to atrick question i have seen.. tradegy was obvious bee gees but you win again was a single by the bee gees but a more famous hit was so you win again by hot chocolate which was option d... good call majella
