A really great performance by the Swedish women's team - especially by Frida, Ebba and Jonna! Svahn obviously had some problem at the ski change, but was probably pretty tired by then. I fear that Linn and Jonna won't be able to recover enough for Tuesday's sprint in Drammen. We saw what happened in Lahti last week, and Drammen suits the heavier Skistad even better. Hopefully Maja Dahlqvist is strong enough atleast to give Skistad a fight. Or Emma Ribom maybe?

I wouldn't expect Diggins to be competitive in a 50km classic race, I guess they were bigging her up for the American audience.

  • @user-yg2xo6ec8f

A wise decision by Jonna Sundling not to participate in Drammen. That track isn't hilly enough. I can't see anyone else but Skistad to win this race. Svahn will probably be quite happy with a spot on the podium to secure the sprint cup title, and to reduce the gap to Diggins, who by the way will struggle to pass the prologue. That's the most interesting thing about this sprint. I believe Maja Dahlqvist is the main Swedish hope on Tuesday.

Björgen was build like a Man so I don't think a women like these could do the same?

Yes and that could of course happens, and I'm sure she is still in a very good shape, but for how long time? Anyway, now when Norway finally got an international top class footplay player, like Haaland, in Swedish Håland, maybe their effort to win every Cross-country-skiing-competition, will eventually slow down? 🙂

This video didn't show what happened AT ALL during this race, and the announcer lied about events that took place. This women's race, taking place on International Women's Day, was marred by multiple violent, drunken brawls among the fans, who then tried to storm the fence separating the stands from the race track. Frida Karlsson was then booed, as she approached the finish line, so why is the announcer claiming that that she made a "fantastic entry into the stadium?" Stop trying to cover up horrendous incidents like these.

International women's day was yesterday, not today. Holmenkollen has always had... issues with certain audience members. The skiers saw (and smelled) very little of this, thankfully. Frida being booed by the disappointed home audience is sad, but definitely not unique. Home audiences unfortunately aren't always the most supportive towards the competition. It wasn't personal. Generally Frida is well liked in Norway, and got greeted and congratulated by members of the Norwegian Royal Family after the race.
Frida was very happy and looks forward to racing in Holmenkollen again.
