If the fight comes down to heart and grit and guts...no-one beats Volk. He's got that sewn up. Super strong mind and self belief. But you *really* don't want to be the smaller and lighter opponent to an elite Dagestani wrestler...who is used to throwing around, holding down, and dominating larger heavier guys. Volk has a very narrow path to victory in this.
weight doesnt even play as much as a role as people make it out to, islam vs dober was about the same as every other dagestani beatdown and dober weighed in at 183lbs on fight night

There’s a reason there are different weight devisions and it’s not because of striking differentials it’s because of wrestling.
Everyone knows volk can strike and is very fast but at the end of the day it’s a guarantee that at some point the action will go to the ground. volk has not competed against anyone on the level on Islam, Islam made the submission king tap VERY FAST.
T city was able to lock in a tight sub and is no where close to the level of Olivera’s offensive sub game, when that happens with Islam he’s not getting out there’s levels with wrestling and grappling here. Volks only chance is to get a lucky clip and knock Islam out which every UFC fighter has but if he’s not lucky it’s going to be a quick one
