This is perfect I just bought a pots and pan set from Walmart and it came with a free gift consisting of 1/4" steel plates a welder machine press and a bunch of other metal machinery tools I wasn't sure what to do with but now I can make a DIY home made chainsaw right in my kitchen when I make biscuits and gravy this Sunday morning thank you so much for this awesome video

No kickback protection, no oiler, no chain catcher and no proper handle or operator position!
I agree! This is a dangerous fool hearty saw.
As If someone would care about that, doing a HOMEMADE chainsaw. If you want protection, buy a real one or build the protection yourself.

great idea but one thing is mising , oil system is needed to supply oil to the chain path while in use with no oil in the chain path, it will create fractions and will cause it to heat up.

No provision for the chain to be oiled constantly along the bar.
No grease on the nose tip.
No chainsaw chaps, or indeed ANY kind of safety gear.
An almighty accident just waiting to happen.
Hope your still around. I looking at doing this on a 40 or so inch bar. How long can a person take the bar. Its going on a planking system.
i give you 5 stars for DIY , but, you need chain tensioner, oiler, protection, and handle. This type of grinder has too much resistance from such big blade. Conversion to chainsaw, on this kind of grinders, should be limited to small blades, 30cm max. If i had opportunity i woud put even smaler blad.
if I could,maybe 20cm. Its for cutting smaller branches, not cutting wood.
