Love the Southern Rock bands. The Outlaws are still my favorite. Two or even three guitars in harmony and those amazing solos and riffs. I still listen to them all the time. Thank you for choosing such a good style to teach.

Another great video! I remember learning so much from just jamming along with the end solo section of Freebird for hours and hours. I still recommend that my students do this when they’re first learning to do rock solos.

The licks sound great but can you explain them in a bit more detail? For instance the bluesy part after the first pedal steel bend in lick 2. Also might help if you zoom in on your fingers/fretboard.

Greetings and thanks for the feedback!!! I think I tried to cram too much info into this video and got going a little fast maybe??? It's a learning process and I'll try to be more thorough in the future!

So you're saying we're using two pentatonic shapes in G major ( shapes 1 and down to 5... minor equivalent shape 2 back to shape one in E...correct?).

@@CharlieLongGuitar I just want to say I like your teaching style and your direction in music. I'd love to gain more insights on bands like Blackfoot, Outlaws, Skynyrd and ZZ Top as well. Subbed!

Dickey turned Duane onto Davis and Coltrane. They were heavily influenced by their approach to soloing and Dickey's songs are emblematic of that influence. No one like him. I know Duane gets all the hype, but he wrote a single song on his own, the beautiful "Little Martha". Heck of a time to grow up with so many amazing guitar bands. Thanks for the video.
