Kinda off-topic but a brazillian fan made a theory that the size of the diamonds is actually related to the amout of colonies/planets they have. The more colonies they achieve, the bigger they get, as they are "extracting" the nutrients from the planets. So that would explain why White is so huge and why Pink is so tiny.
It sounds kinda crazy but it does make sense, if you think about it
But Blue and Yellow have pretty much the same size despite having a different number of colonies.

Once Blue mentioned that White, her and yellow laughing about the silly things pink did. And also she mentioned something about White thinking that they needed Pink to complete them. I think they have some type of a weird relationship. I also think she wasn't mentioned by Rose/Pink just to make us curious about her.
Symbiotic relationship I guess, they all need contrast, Yellow needs blue, pink is a knockofff version of red and Blue needs her, White needs all of the diamonds simce there is also a theory that while making the diamonds, she projected her emotions unto them for the need of being perfect.
Before it was revealed that White Diamond was indeed her own entity, I had a theory that she was just a fusion of all 3 primary color diamonds. Since their bodies are made of light, their combination would make white, so without Pink, she couldn't exist. I thought the entire reason for Yellow & Blue missing Pink was because they missed being White with her and couldn't stand to be apart, since it left them on their own to deal with their own problems without relying on being a fusion. Sort of how Steven now wants to be Stevonnie forever instead of just... lonely ol' Steven.

You're seeing an absence of color and light. Something that is white is reflecting all or most of the light away so we're seeing all the different colored wavelengths bouncing off of it and into our eyes.
Our eyes work by seeing light bouncing off objects and hitting our eyes. Green objects are green because they reflect away green light wavelengths. White objects are all colors because they reflect away most or all color wavelengths. Black objects are the absence of color because they reflect away little to no light.

What if the reason White Diamond isn't around is because she has a big project that she needs to finish. Now don't hate, but what if she's making another Diamond... Okay hear me out, I thought this maby because resourses are so low on home world is because the Diamond their making requires so much energy to finish formation. That's why gems like Peridot don't have as many powers as era 1 gems. And that's also the reason gems like Aquamarine and Peridot require mechanical enhancements or items to do what they were meant for.
Another thought, maby the "reason" she's making another diamond is to replace Pink Diamoned so they have four diamonds again but an uncorrupted diamoned.

Well, remember the way PD was talking in that scene? It sounded so mature and old (to me anyways). I have a feeling White will mirror Pink in everyway but the exact opposite. Where PD symbolizes impulsiveness and youth, white will be Mature and calm and wise. If this really is the case and she tried to talk white into letting the colony go her starting the rebellion makes more sense.

Her nickname is "Starlight", and there is a star on Rose Quart's design, and she said "Yellow and Blue don't care." I also remember that really creepy conversation about how "pink makes things worse; white makes things better." In other words, I think Pink really loved White but was probably really creeped out by her because White was a psycho control freak. Feelings were complicated, and Pink did NOT want to talk about it.

I agree most with the fourth option - I saw the hierarchy of the diamonds being like pink - yellow and blue - white. Yellow and Blue are like the big sisters who would try and cover Pink and give her a chance, meanwhile White is busy being the most powerful diamond and doesn’t think Pink is a big deal due to underestimating her and any cover from Blue and Yellow. However, at the end once Pink really becomes a threat, White tries to put an end to her with the diamond attack

I thought pink diamond was smaller bc she was younger and had more “growing” to do. But I like the theory about she was defective and hence smaller. I like the idea that, since white diamond is all about control, she wouldn’t want anything to do with pink bc she was defective and smaller and “off color.” But overall I really like pink diamond’s mystery. There’s a lot I don’t know as I wasn’t able to finish the very last season and I haven’t seen anything other than the original show
I think it’s a mix of 2 and 3.
It could be that WD is just too busy to deal with ANY of the other Diamonds. She’s obviously the big boss, in charge of literally everything. As far as we know Yellow and Blue don’t interact with her much either.
Maybe White is like a loving, but too busy, always working parent?
YD and BD BOTH attended the trial, someone had to keep things running. So it would fall to White. Pink needs help to fight a war, makes sense that the next in charge would help her, instead of EVERYONE stepping in.
White only seems to come into the picture when Yellow and Blue can’t handle it.
And maybe Pink did see White as this amazing gem to look up too. And she wouldn’t want to bother her by asking her anything. Maybe Pink thought she would be a burden if she did.
But even if Pink was defective and off color (which I personally believe was the case) I really doubt White would have hated her, maybe she would have been displeased, but not enough to ever shatter her.
I still like to think of YD, BD, and PD as sisters. And when the older ones can’t help THATS when they go to mom (WD).

I speculate that the attack they launched that corrupted the crystal gems (which, by the way, we know they didn’t intent to corrupt them from the promo! They meant to destroy them) requires a great sacrifice on the part of the diamonds who initiated it.
White either also started to become corrupt so she hid herself away, or maybe she poofed and is still recovering thousands of years later.

The diamonds have different grieving methods, Blue's is crying, Yellow's is bottling her emotions, White is just, a Mental shutdown, hence why she stays in her head for a majority of the time. So it would make sense for her to be dormant
White is probably so powerful and so "perfect" she only deals with kingdom threatening matters. Say Yellow is poofed and Blue turns good. White will step in and give the crystal gems a run for their money.

Pink Diamond is assumed to be a younger diamond so she mostly follows what her gut tells her hence the reason her diamond is located there. Next, Blue and Yellow Diamond are perceived to be older and they think using their "hearts" and strongest emotion, thus their diamonds are on their chests. Blue Diamond is deeply saddened so she acts and leads in order to seek justice for Pink Diamond. The same is true for Yellow Diamond but, instead of the sadness she has anger and seeks revenge. These two both act according to their feelings and do not hide them well. Lastly, White Diamond's diamond is located on her head (or brain). Assuming White Diamond is the oldest she thinks with her head versus the other two alternatives. She may not be getting involved because she already knows how this will likely play out due to past experiences. I believe that White Diamond has experienced thinking with her head, heart, and gut; Yellow and Blue Diamond have experienced thinking with their hearts and guts; Pink Diamond has experienced thinking with her gut. Side note: Each of the Diamonds' diamond is located on their body according to the hierarchy shown when the four diamonds are placed together.

Based off of your 3rd and 4th theories, blending them, what if THAT'S the reason Pink treated Pearl the way she did? White probably felt, even though she wasn't ready to her, that Pink would at least need a good start. Not only providing her with the moon base, but also ships and gems to start off with, permanently providing her with one of her Pearl's that she'd let Yellow or Blue probably use (because of the colors on her clothes), and because of not wanting her help, she low-key resented Pearl's existence (like a spoiled child when they get a Nanny) cause she reminded her of White babying her, but learned to get over it (in a way), learned to care for her more while having her way with her as a Diamond, and encouraging her to do things that would be beyond reason that would make Pearl happy and make her uncomfortable? 🤔

I think another reason Diamonds are unique is that they probably aren't born fully understanding their purpose in life. Pink Diamond faced some real characterization that other gems don't seem to face unless they start to question their existence (which they aren't supposed to do). They have a unique programming already, and as leaders that create life, I don't think they themselves program each other to be like the others.
I have a few thoughts on the “off-color pink diamond” theory. As we can see blue and yellow diamond are primary colors, so what if they “created” pink diamond as to be “red”. But she came out pink. And as we know, from kindergarten knowledge, red and white create pink. So what if white diamond did something to pink, to make her “defective” and she couldn’t handle the guilt. Thus, never being mentioned or even seen. I don’t know, it just sounds so mysterious in theory.
