I come back to this video every year. My favorite gift wrapping video.
Aww...thank you for watching and your continued support! I'll be posting a new video on gift wrapping odd shaped items. Stay tuned and happy holidays! Hugs! - A u r o r a
Glad to know I’m not the only one that has to re-watch gift wrapping videos every December
are you back this year?
@@lailani9583 Yep
@@DawnToDuskDesigns why was your hands shaking so much while you was rapping the gift.
When I worked at Macy's, we brought the bottom crease all the way to the edge and double-side taped it there so that it looked almost seamless. We also put almost absolutely everything into Macy's boxes so that everything was easy to wrap nicely (we memorized the dimensions of different sized boxes to know exactly how much paper to cut) and so that we didn't have to tape the actual items. We also used really nice thick paper (like in the video) to prevent tearing and wrinkles and to make good, crisp corner creases. After 3 years there, I could wrap a gift in about 4 minutes, including the ribbon, with my eyes closed (I actually did this a few times).
Exactly. It’s supposed to be seamless. The ends at macys would not look like this at all.
Thank you for doing this.. Many people don't know how to wrap gifts. I do but some of my friends don't. I cannot believe people are critical with the comments below when people are nice enough to help with things they are good at... Have a wonderful Christmas and thank you...you do a wonderful job!
Hi Raechel! Thank you for watching and your sweet comment. Happy Holidays! A u r o r a ❤❤❤
I always end up with too much wrapping paper on the ends, and try cutting the excess off, and end up with a mess. Thanks for taking the time to make this detailed tutorial. Now I know how much paper I should have BEFORE I get to the point of no return. I also like the use of two sided tape.
Lots of negative nelly's on here, but I lost my mom before she could teach me how to wrap and appreciated being able to learn how to wrap like she did. :) Thanks!
"Negative Nelly's" grow up
Hi Megan, thank you for watching and commenting. I know it's late, but I'm sorry to hear about your mom. Hope you had a wonderful Merry Christmas!😊 Hugs, A u r o r a ❤❤❤
I absolutely LOVE this video! Perfect wrapping. The noise puts me to sleep
Thanks, I Love the finished look. The finger pressing and creasing of the edges really makes a difference for me. I am all about the presentation. I like the fact that you can wrap an inexpensive gift with the right technique and make it look as if you got it at a High-end store .
tbonds007 Hi! Thank you so much! I'm so glad you loved the finished look. I totally know what you mean about presentation. I'm all about that too! Great minds think alike, huh? :D. Thank you so much for watching!! All the best, A u r o r a
OMG! I used this video last year to teach me to wrap. I searched forever to find you this year. You have the best wrapping style hands down!
C B Aww...thank you so much!😊❤ You're a sweetheart! All the best, A u r o r a
The finger and thumb pressing tip is the best tip ever makes the presents look killer. Thank you.
Thank you very much! I've always had problems with doing this and spent a lot of time doing bad wraps. You have helped me : )
Steven, I'm so glad I could help you. :) Thanks for watching! :) All the best, A u r o r a P.S. I bet your gifts look awesome now!! :)
this is really the true way on how to wrap gifts this is how my mom taught me to wrap yrs ago, she used to work in a gift wrap dept. ever since I've been wrapping all gifts like this along with the finger pressing method to give boxes a more square look. best method, and very foolproof.
I liked your video. I don't understand why people want to criticize. We are here to see you wrap a gift....which you did quite well! Thank you!
about 7 minutes to wrap per gift..... I should be done with all the present by February lol
so true
Tell me about it! lol. I'm sure with practice you'll become faster at it. ;) Thanks for watching! ox, A u r o r a
I watched this years ago and now I still wrap my gift like this and it is much faster than she shows. It's slower because she's showing and making sure that the camera can see.

Dear Aurora,
I have seen this video (along with part 2-the bow) 6 or 7 times now (i had more than one occasion to wrap presents last and this year), and will probably watch it again. The reason why i enjoyed your gift wrapping technic, and not anyone else's, is because of your positive attitude towards it :) i like the fact that you are so joyful and happy, the fact that you are smiling all the way through the process, and just the way that you transfer your positive energy trans this video :)
I truly hope that we will be seing more of your happy creativity as time goes by, maybe perhaps by showing us some other wrapping technics (like for next Christmas or some other occasion) or something else, but i really hope that these are not your last videos :) please stay as positive as you were, because a smile can do so much more than you can imagine :)
Dear Lena,
Thank you soooo much for your kind and loving words! :) You have no idea how reassuring that is. I'm glad you have found those 2 videos helpful. I love your ideas & I'll definitely keep them in mind for future videos.;) Good luck with all your gift wrapping! I'm sure they look gorgeous!! Take care and again thanks a MILLION for the support!! :) All the best, A u r o r a
Lena Noršić (see above) :)

Lena Noršić Thank you! Greatly appreciate it. Take care, too. :) Warm Regards, Aurora
You deserve way more suscribers girl. You are a golden girl. Better than some of those 15 or 16 yr old girls who just fiddle with their hair and do the longest intros
This was the BEST video to show me how to wrap my gifts! Thank you!
Thank you so much! I've watched every video on how to wrap a present and I could just never do it. I got mad, hysteric and all that 😅 This is the only video that actually helped me and my present is lookin' nice

Thank you soo much!! This showed me how wrap better at gifts :D
You're welcome! I'm glad this helped. :) Happy Holidays, A u r o r a
I work in retail - nor Macy's but another store where we sell a lot of objects that end up as square packages, and I must say that although your end result is good lookwise, this would be far too slow - even if done at full speed and not slowed down to explain - to be feasible in a retail situation.
Using tape for gifts that are square is for beginners or really large and/or heavy boxes (or obviously other shapes than square). It takes too long and when you wrap about 100 gifts a day, you get the handhold very very quickly to not need tape.
I do not blame anyone for doing that though and with double sided tape it even looks good despite the tape. But please do not tape the paper onto the box inside. That is not a good way to go.
The gift did however look nice, so props for that.
I never tape the wrap to the box for two reasons: 1. I like to recycle gift boxes, and the tape would damage the box when the wrapping was removed. 2. When I'm using paper with a pattern, I like to make the pattern line up on the back. This almost never happens the first time you wrap the paper around the box - you have to tweak it a little. Taping the paper to the box prevents you from being able to tweak it. Notice how her ends didn't didn't match perfectly. It's not such a big deal with solid color paper like this, but with striped or patterned paper, it's really noticeable.
I hate it when haters try to steal someone’s joy when they are nice enough to share a tutorial! Sheesh ! Did anyone ever tell you if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all. Keep your negative comments to yourself. This beautiful lady is nice enough to teach people who don’t know how to wrap. If you are already such an expert, stop watching how-to videos, and go teach a wrapping course at a retail university and shut up already! ✋
Nice job and I like Santa Baby. It's after Christmas, but I have a boat load of Birthday presents to wrap this week. Id like to them more personal.
Thank you for your sweet comment. :) Best of luck with your birthday presents! All the best, A u r o r a
This was a very good demo of a simple approach - just what I needed...Thank You
I know this video is old, but I just wanted to say THANK YOU for folding the very end pieces It drives me insane when people do not do that and just leave it "triangle" shaped! I had just watched a video before this one that said "Wrap like a pro" yet they didn't fold their end pieces they left them flat and it looked horrible!
Hi Kelli! Thank you so much for watching and commenting! I'm glad you found it helpful. Have a Merry Christmas with your loved ones! 😊❤ All the best, A u r o r a ❤❤❤
Thx. Hun. Imma a left handed person and sometimes I forget how to wrap a gift 🎁
You make it look so simple; but it's really not. A good job!!!!!
This is exactly how my mom does it! Thank you!
When someone sophisticatedly say " don't cut your hair off" I love it
thank you so much for this video!!!
BEAUTIFUL AND EASY...

Hi Dana! Thank you for watching and commenting! Hope it helped you. Hugs from LA! - A u r o r a ❤️❤️❤️
@@DawnToDuskDesigns it sure did help ❤️
On that first fold to cover box why not just bring that crease all the way to the edge for a seamless appearance. Thanks!
Hi Princern! That's a great suggestion. Thank you for watching! All the best, - A u r o r a
I just want to know your nail polish color and brand lol. Beautiful
Thanks so much!

Thanks! I enjoyed watching but prefer the seemless version of gift wrapping!!
Now isn't Christmas, but I'm still gonna watch this coz CZcams recommended 😂
Hi Madhu! Thank you for watching and commenting! Had no idea a Christmas wrapping video would be recommended during this time. lol 🤣 Thanks! I and hope you enjoyed it! All the best, - A u r o r a

+Ferraribabe126 Hi! Thank you for your sweet comment & for watching! :) All the best, A u r o r a
+DawnToDuskDesigns i love you
Thank you!
I love when you said it isn't rocket science. I laughed so hard
Am I the only one who hates when people put tape on the gift?
+Natalie Cross how else are you supposed to secure the wrapping paper.....
***** By taping only where the wrapping paper overlaps. If you fold the paper in the correct places and keep one hand on the overlap, and then place the tape, taping the paper to the actual gift is not necessary. It's not very difficult. Give it a try? 😃
siotorres209 Why bother with holding the paper to the gift as you're folding it, when you could just tape it. And even then, it's so easy to remove the tape from the gift. All you need to do is peel and voila, tape is no longer a problem.
Yup
You can just use magic tape to secure the paper to the gift, that way you don´t damage the box, and you can use regular tape or double sided tape in the rest of the wrapping ;)
Thank you!!!!
10 minutes video to show me how I always wrap my presents - that creativity tho
Awesome thx!
She said "You also need some scissors but make sure you don't cut your hair off" why would we cut our hair?
She does have long hair....
but how will she cut her hair shes cutting below her hands not even close to her hair
Actually, that thought goes through my mind every time I pick up scissors, which is everyday, because my hair is down the bottom of my butt. If I didn't pay attention it would be very easy for me to cut my hair off. You must not have long hair or you would surely understand this...lolol. ;)
I have really long hair like the lovely lady in the video and I have to continually think about where my hair is (if I haven't tied it up) when I'm using scissors. Sometimes you get SO into whatever you're doing (making a video tutorial actually takes a LOT of concentration) that you forget about your hair. I've "trimmed" my hair on many occasions whilst cutting fabric, and even once whilst wrapping a present! :-) I appreciated her reminder :-)
I personally liked the fact she referred to creasing the paper as "using the Finger Pressing Process" SMH
Love this video Aurora - so helpful and gets me in the Xmas Spirit! Roll on December!
A lot of times it looks nicer if you fold the extra bit over instead of cutting it. Lends itself to less possible paper cuts too
(I work in a toy store that does free wrapping. Christmas' pass have made me pretty much golden at wrapping. Not bragging, just establishing credibility)
So, if any store wrapped any of my gifts, putting tape on the actual box, i'd immediately ask them to give me a new one. The mere chance of the tape ripping into the box is too high.
Ok now do a tutorial with all the other sizes as :Round, oblong so on and so forth.
Lilly C Hi there! Thank you so much for watching and your GREAT suggestion! I'll definitely make a video on gift wrapping odd shapes. I can't believe I didn't think about that!🙈 You're genius!! Happy Holidays! Much love, A u r o r a 😊❤

"Crease" is the word you're looking for. "Crease the paper".
Hi there, thank you for watching and commenting! Yes, crease is the word. lol. Hope you had a Merry Christmas! All the best, A u r o r a ❤❤❤
Doesn't seem like she was looking for that word.
Perfect!

What kind of paper is that? It looks like a tough wrapping paper but nice....
Hi Evelyn! Thank you for watching and commenting! The gift wrapping paper is a little thicker than most (not sure if there's an actual name for this type), but very manageable and easy to wrap. If I recall correctly, I got it from either Marshalls or Burlington. They have beautiful quality paper there for reasonable prices. :) Hope you have happy holidays! Hugs! - A u r o r a
really nice !(:
Your awesome! Thanks (:
Alondra Espinoza Thank you Alondra for your sweet comment! Much appreciated! :) All the best, A u r o r a
you should rename this tutorial : Stating the Obvious. Now lets see you wrap a ball
do your finger pressing, do your finger pressing, do your finger pressing here. Ok we get it!! Lol
I was about to comment about that lmaooo
Yet, it’s still lumpy 🤔
Sticking the paper to the present is a school boy error!
Garth Exactly.
If she just skipped the first piece of tape and just overlapped the wrapping paper and taped it down, she could move the paper around the box in such a way so as to bring the seam right up to one of the long edges, thus giving the gift a truly "seamless" appearance (the seam would be hidden by the edge of the box).
Thanks Indian lady... helped me out.
Rick James was it really necessary to point out that she's indian?
Obviously it was
loooool yeah, I agree, it was necessary.
I think she's latina though (Rodriguez)
why does it matter though?
it doesn't lol
That is all very well for a box but what about irregular shapes?
+james hodgkinson I think Macy's put's every gift into a box first. I get my boxes at the Dollar Tree.
I am not spending any more then I have to on presents
THANKS ALOT
