As far as production, I think I’ve learned something different in each unit. Even though they are all the same, moving the buttons has caused me to approach, think and explore different avenues of the machine and my work flow.
My MPC One sits in the closet for backup, now that I have my MPC Live 2. I honestly should of bought the Live 2 first, but it was my first MPC, so I took the small step and got the one.
I have both mpcs as well. The 37key is perfect! I feel like I make the same amount of music having both but when I travel I can take live 2 to cook up wherever.
🍻 😎 But do you use them hooked together in anyway? I've got to look into to getting them to sync up. I failed here. Thought I'd be simpler.
Funny that this came on my timeline as a week ago I had the same idea and midi’d my X to the 37 key so I could have more plug in sounds in standalone.
I think I've done it that way reverse of what I'm trying here because the usb midi exists in the 37 but for some reason I wasn't able to use the 37 as a controller for the live here.

Hey bro! Great content! I have a question... I was big on iOS mobile producing and was shrinking my studio to just fit around that.. but , I got back into the big boy lane and got a mpc live and a key 61 because the 37 was back ordered so long.. my question is.. I have a lot of drum kits that are just random samples with no organized na e to them. in the iPad I could drag a folder and load all the contents to all the pads at one time. Is there a way to do that on the mic instead of loading each sound to each pad or using something like Kitmaker that requires sometime of file system (Hats, Kicks, Snares, etc..)?
You'd probably have to use kitmaker. I believe there is a way to load a whole folder, but I don't think directly to pads. I'm not super positive though, I never been concerned with it because I rather not work that way. I just load the samples I'm using into a project. Having all those samples on a program is just going to save replicas of your samples in every project you use those progarms in. Will eat up your storage and seems like a pretty cluttered way of working to me. BTW you can preview samples in the browser before loading while you play your sequence back in order to find the right ones that blend well.
