As a lolita: thank you for this video and being respectful towards our fashion despite fact it's way easier to just show it as something shocking and weird for views of people just waiting to see a freak show.
Also you look goddamn adorable in this coord, sometimes black girls are scared that lolita might "not suit them" so it's great to see you and your friends wearing it, i will from now on share this video to anyone who have doubts if it will "suit them" based on their skin color.
It's funny bc lighter colors fit darker skins. And the sweeter outfits (pastel) look better on darker skin.

@@annika066 I am very pale, and I find that sort of a sky blue works well on me, but I have blonde hair and blue eyes. Lavender looks good with my hair, so it works on me. Pink only looks good on me as an accent color, and other pastel colors tend to look bad. Maybe go for brighter clothing.

the lolita subculture is so inclusive. alyssa salazar is a great example - she wears her hijab and also dresses in this style, which i think is really cool. missdarcei looks really cool too.

I was always nervous to wear lolita fashion as I'm a south asian, which means darker skin tone. I always felt that people might make fun of me for trying to wear pastel clothing when my skin tone is darker. This makes me have a moral boost n hopefully one day I would finally have the courage to go out in cute lolita fashion

I’m also south asian, but I happen to be a lot paler in comparison to other people from my country. However I still have colored skin, and I found that light purples have always worked for me. :)

i went from alternative to lolita in two years. it was interesting to see peoples opinions change about me and my looks. to be honest, i have such a good time going out in lolita in britian. i get complimented, and also judged. i see a lot of chavs stare at me when im passing by, i found it strange because when i was alternative they wouldn't think twice to try and jump me. sometimes i look back at myself and reflect. i think about my style as a whole, and how its changed. i sit in front of the mirror for hours at a time, and smile. i always got bullied when i wore band shirts or gothic skirts. But at the time i was insecure, and entirely relying on others opinion. i became addicted to becoming ' pretty '. But after all this time, i worry less about my face. i think more about my health. i wore demonic eyeliner, and chokers. i over lined my lips because i saw all the other girls have bigger, nicer lips. i was jealous. and even if i changed my ways now, i still remember those times where i broke down over others words, and i recall those exact lines. " you're so big! eat a salad goddamn.. "

I hate how lolita fashion gets a bad rep, mostly because of the name. It's such a beautiful and cute style, and there are so many sub-genres in the style. Classic, sweet, gothic, hime, and many more. I think anyone can pull it off, no matter their ethnicity. I'm mixed and I own one lolita dress, but I plan on putting a full cord together soon.

it's bcs ppl mistake it for the nymphette "aesthetic" that got popular on tumblr years ago, which actually has a long history of romantcizing age gap relationships with minors and s3xualizing young girls, the reason they mistake it with th Lolita aesthetic is that the nymphette "aesthetic" was connected to a fictional character that has the same name, Lolita (the character) was in a novel that goes by the same name, it talks about a p3dophile who marries a woman just so he can gr00m his daughter, it's pretty disturbing but the main goal of it was to highlight on the topic of s3xualizing young girls, the film on the other did a pretty bad job at delivering the message, and s3xualized the character Lolita giving her s3xy adult clothes and make up, which started this "Lolita movement" in tumblr.
