You mentioned a sightseeing trip in AK. When you come back to Seattle, try Kenmore Air for a flight over Puget Sound/San Juan Islands. They’re seaplanes that fly out of N Seattle/Lake Union, or north end of Lake Washington.

Alaska seems like a lot of cargo planes ✈️ possibly sea food pick up
They mostly stop to refuel
Anchorage is known as "Crossroads of the World" and is a stopover place for a lot of traffic between Asia and the Eastern part of the USA.
Previously it also was a stopover for passenger traffic between Europe and Asia, but less so now.

I've been to Anchorage & Ted Steven's many times as a Mate of mine who lives in Sydney has A Fishing Lodge about 30 minutes away from Lake Hood by Floatplane
Peter I don't know if you realise The Lake Hood Float Plane Base is The Biggest in The World which isn't far from Ted Stevens
