You can snipe vehicle while Jarmen kell is on the bike. The only disadvantage you have is inability to use demo charge if you are demo general.

The GLA successfully kicking the U.S. out of the Mideast in the Zero Hour campaign seemed pretty outlandish at the time--but watching the fall of Kabul in real life, it's downright eerie.
That's the problem with these games. They were never meant to be taken seriously at the time they were written but instead they become near prophetic. Aside from Kabul, who knew Hong Kong would be under civil unrest that needed Beijing to respond with the PLA?
The Taliban didn't push the U.S out of Afganistan though....We literally where packing up to leave when they decided to go on a major offensive after we beat teh shit out of them.
GLA also suceeded in taking over all of Europe....Europe comprising of superpowers well capabable of defending themselves.
So yeah, Generals lore isn't meant to be taken seriously...at all....

@Ryan Storm Actually, the current Taliban ideology is exactly what GLA is in both Generals and Zero Hour. They combine anti-imperialism and religion to create their ideology.
However, when Generals 2 came, their ideology shifted to lesson the religious influence in order to get recruits from Europe (as they will now fight the European Continental Army at that time)

I got to give GLA engineers/arms dealers some credit for their ability to modify a simple RPG-7 to shoot down USAF'S F22 and PLAAF'S J20(MIG1.44).
Do not understimate the good ol' RPG-7. Ask Iraqis insurgents, they were able to even defeat Abrams tanks with them
If you know when/where the self destruct fuze goes off, you can use it as crude flak especially against helos.

@@user-ie4tt1xp7j sharkweek is an example and another national geographic show I forgot the name of, EA is also referenced the GLA soundtrack in sims 4 where you can hear it playing while a sims watch a knockoff indiana jones movie. alot of natgeo shows uses the usa soundtrack. it's hard to give you a specific example when they use the soundtracks during the episode while explaining something

Which is why they talk about Tunnels a lot!
Converting a Combat Cycle into a Terror Bike makes the the Combat Cycle slower!
Fun bonus bit: If you're Demolition General and get the Demolitions research, the Explosive power of the Terror Bike is larger than its supposed stats, this is because it's also applying the Demolitions effect, making a second explosion on the same frame.
An Upgraded Demolition General SCUD Storm is the only superweapon in the game that destroy other superweapons and command centers if all of the missiles connect properly.
What Jarmen does isn't actually unique when he's Garrisoning structures, the USA Pathfinder does the same thing. This is because both units are tagged as 'STEALTH_GARRISON' units.
The Cash Bounty power applies to any kill from any source. Base Structures can also gain the cash bounty and even the SCUD Storm can gain money. But not the Command Center's Special Powers because the Special Powers aren't actual weapons on the Command Center object while the SCUD Storm has 'ScudStorm' directly on its weapon slot.
This segways into the SCUD Bug, and it's that reason why the SCUD bug happens, it's because the game thinks it can fire the SCUD Storm missiles as a normal weapon because it's weapon is directly referenced in its object entry.
The other two superweapons don't have this as their weapons work the same way a command center does.
Scud bug is cool, even though I only just learned of it!
Group Scud with a unit, tell unit to move, and while unit is moving use the force-fire to rain down endless poison missiles! If I made a mistake, let me know!
Last time i put my pathfinders in the building the enemy instantly saw my pathfinder, i dont think they work the same with Jarmen Kell ability to sneak in building.
Toxin general can also destroy enemy super weapons in one strike due to his missiles using anthrax gamma, the missiles explosions leave the building with very little health while the anthrax leftover will chip the remaining health and eventually destroys it.
@@nogisonoko5409 I think they saw your pathfinders walking to the building because unlike jarmen kell who can move while being stealth, pathfinders can't and so they get detected whenever they move

I think he never went in to battle personally, he just has a steady supply of guys who look sorta like him that he sends out.
I think Jarmen Kell is just a title, like black rose, but to give it the impression of an impossible to kill mercanary, any time he dies, they just pass the persona to a new person. So there is no singular Jarmen Kell, giving him the IMAGE of an immortal fighter who can never be pinned down nor killed.

Did you know that RPG missiles have a max range? if an aircraft manages to outfly the missile, the missile will run out of fuel and fall out of the sky and explode on the ground.

@@thecrank4572 It does. I'v had my advisor scream at me alot whenever one of my aircraft carried a RPG back towards the base and had it hit one of the defenses. Doesn't do much damage, but damage is damage.

The scrap upgrade system was so cool. I loved upgrading my quad cannons to wreak havoc at everything.
I really enjoyed watching this video and I look forward to the other factions being discussed. The production quality in this video was very surprisingly high.
On another note I do hope that one day we received a remake of Command&Conquer Generals, the games feels a bit clunky to play after playing moden RTS games. It has such a good vibe and faction design.

The biggest improvement though should be to the AI. In skirmishes against the AI there really is only the early game since the AI won't spam resource buildings. Once their stash runs out, they're done.

They are based on the T-34. which the USSR shipped in massive numbers to Arabian countries during the late 50's and early 60's during the Israeli wars. After all the T-34 was already obsolete against the western powers and they already had massive numbers of T-54's. One way you can tell is the lack of a drive sprocket which is something the T-34 lacked.
I don't think so , the chassis is too different, they however resembled WW2 italian tanks like the P26, which took part a lot in African theater. Even if the Soviets did suppiled Africans with T-34, it will not be the standard T-34/75 but the T-34-85, the ones with the bigger turrets.
The GLA has a pretty good postal service for a terrorist/revolutionary organization. Rain,sleet,or 120mm APFSDS nobody can stop the mail.

The GLA was the most distinctive of the 3. The GLA holes and no power made the vastly different from US and China.
GLA units may be weak when in small numbers or individual. But they're strong and OP when attacking in large numbers.

What a perfect timing! Taliban conquered Afghanistan and this video got recommended.
No power plants and cheaper units is what makes the GLA fun to play as. They aren’t bound by to many restrictions and thus can be a thorn in the side if left alone for to long.
It's good to play GLA is yeah you can to anywhere and best of us you don't need to get power but getting power is btr for glad can faster production and can overwhelmed them by numbers.
The only disadvantage they have is if they are in the long game.
Some people who have not played Command and conquer generals (I ask why. If you do not like the modern setting, its game balance and set up is amazing) The shoes are great because they will move much much faster. WAy faster than the other resource gathering vehicles.

@@johndexterzarate6663 probably just a game limitation caused by the fact that this rebel in the back is a part of a vehicle (or you could explain it as "gla uses advanced automatons that serve as the gunners on their vehicles, idk)

The scorpion tank is a mix of old soviet t70ies and italian m13/39 tanks and have some variation aswell, some looks like they are based of the soviet t-26 and us made m3 stuart light tanks
There is a big similarities between building design of gla and that of north African architecture especially algerian and marrocan ones and there tactics reminds me of GIA tactics in the algerian 90's civil war

Now that you mention it, I definitely see them now. I just assumed they were some other non-weapon related pieces.
in fairness, I don't think you ever actually see the Patrol Boat in a situation where there's a hostile ship to engage that wouldn't demolish it with its point defenses alone. Thus, not using the torpedoes.

Yep. Scud Launcher is my favourite unit and GLA is my favourite faction in C&C Generals.
What I really love about this video was that... the "loading bar" is constantly moving as Jethild narrates the story behind GLA.
Imagine if Westwood Studio, may the Lord bless it in our memories, had Jethild doing this for them in every loading screen and we can listen to them while the game loads, and if the game has finished loading we get to stay in the loading screen to continue listening to the video or click to skip the video and head right into the mission. It'll be sweet.

Since P26/40 was an extremely rare tank(sadly for italians), I've always seen Scorpion as combination of WWII era medium tanks and its concept art aka heavily weaponized M113. So to me Scorpion represent all AFVs saved from literal piles of scrap, be they improvized like adding a turret to old APC or something like Sherman or T-34-85.
Marauder on the other hand seems like a casemate SPG on chassis of tank that GLA couldn't fully repair. The way stock one looks with its gun, hull and tracks reminded me of Centurion with 20 pounder so that's what I viewed it as - a collection of SPGs based on Centurions, T-55's, T-62's, Type 59's and various M46-48's. And I guess higher levels of upgrades represented strapping MODERN weaponry salvaged from other tanks to those hulls. That's why they don't have rotating turrets - turret rings of old tanks were too narrow thus necessitating the use of casemate to mount modern 120-125mm tank guns.
P.S.: I also regarded Crusader as M-60-2000 or some other modification of M-60 while Paladin is basically M1A3.
No idea what Overlord can represent:(
Overlord is a pretty much hypothetical design since her dual cannons are located at the sides of the tank and are significantly distant from eachother;
I assume accuracy would be the main issue of such design and others like recoil control (forces being applied to the sides instead of the center of mass) , stabilization, etc.
@@sinaa8652 the only reason I can envision Overlord's existence as a very, VERY rushed job to get more powerful canon on a tank. Let me explain in too much detail.
Battlemasters are basically various Type59/69/80/88 models and variation depending on upgrades. They are armed with either a
1)knock off of soviet 100mm D-10T2S from T-55A with a bit of tech from 115mm U-5TS from T-62 sprinkled on top OR
2)Norinco's clone of british 105mm L7.
In the face of new western tanks with 120mm guns and soviet/russian with 125mm ones that's a bit lacking. Remember, the game was designed before ZTZ96/99 entered production, service and even became public. So PLA is in a bit of a pickle. And then suddenly GLA enters the field and starts using stolen soviet equipment en masse. Who's to say that they won't roll out T-72 next?
China needs to answer, at least for propaganda purposes!
And that's where Overlord comes into play. Remember, it first appears on Beijing parade mission. It was a tank likely made solely to calm the population and be used for propaganda. But then Beijing got nuked. With no way to finish ZTZ96/99 on time, they pushed what they had into service. And that was Overlord. Weird compromise that survived nuclear attack and drove GLA forces back.
As to what Overlord is:
I believe that it's two Type 88's welded together with twin power pack and with heavy naval turret on top. Remember, they didn't have 125mm gun and autoloaders ready yet. So they took the best from what they had and that was 130mm AK-130 gun. Autoloader for it was too big for a tank so they opted for manual loading and turret that was heavily inspired by british DP 5.25" and 6" QF mountings.
Once again it's a rushed propaganda tank that became a surprise powerhouse and wouldn't be in service had Beijing was intact... and majority of PLA high command dead in same attack by GLA.
But that's just mine way to invent logical reason for twin barrel quad track superheavy tank to exist.

Anyways, I still remember how amazed and excited I got the first time that I saw the Overlord in the parade back when I was a kid lol.
And I remember I got really sad when it got nuked out of existence and I couldn't build it afterwards; Then I uncovered those 2 surviving overlords somewhere in the south I literally got goosebumps as if I had found the ultimate easteregg/secret.

The GLA reminds me in some way of the Yugoslav Army, back in WW2 and Cold War Era, they do use similar tactics to the GLA, albeit with less terrorism and more defence of their territory, in fact at the time it was the 4th largest standing Army, were also one of the earliest in modern history to use more radical and revolutionary Guerilla Hit & Run tactics, Sabotage, Espionage, Non-convential strategies and preferred to pick their fights in a non-confrontational manner, using whatever means to route and confuse the enemy, and with shock and awe, forcing them into a sense of over-confidence, catching them off guard, and capturing and use whatever they leave behind in their ambushes, even whilst under heavy occupation during WW2 by the Axis, they even used to have mandatory conscription and military service, state/civil programs to train civilians for self defense purposes for when under siege or under foreign occupation, using their own knowledge of the terrain, their homeland to their advantage, when to fight, hold out and evacuate civilians away from danger.
Tunnels and camoflauged AA and ground defences was also commplace, the use of decoy tanks similiar to the British in D-Day, structures and garrisonable structures rigged with booby traps and explosives, defenses and light vehicles also sabotaged if captured, and actual units and defenses were scattered and or hidden inside mountain side tunnels (cos the Balkans is very mountainous) and bases, ready for ambushes and enemy deception, also used to send false intel and information to enemies via captured radio comms and other forms of communication, further giving the military and resistance fighters an advantage.
