well I only was able to see him at galaxy, but was a top 3 set all festival for me, so yeah I guess you could say he was quite good haha, all my friends agreed and they don’t even really like his style of liquid.

channels like UKF and Liquicity have a lot to answer for - building a near monopoly on the online promotion of the genre and they choose to push this awful EDM bastardisation of the music. It’s such a shame. This is what dnb is now to many people.

@@ell1cs drum & bass was a scene for a long time. Once scene, in unity.
Now as you say it’s just a name to hang over a group of different scenes or “sub genres”, the pioneers have been put out to pasture. There is no respect due for people who want to use this style of music for their own benefit. They can walk right in and take dnb to make the most obnoxious, crass, cliche driven music to get the EDM festival money.
Jungle/drum & bass was the UK’s first homegrown black music genre, of course pioneered and nurtured by people of all colours in the urban centres of 90s Britain. Influenced by techno/house/rave/reggae/funk/soul/jazz.
Now that is all being whitewashed away by these corny EDM producers. They do it to many styles of underground club music, look what happened to dubstep. Chewed up and spat out.
