    The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny Demo. Did anybody expect “new” Mr. Bungle? Did they expect it in this form? Well, SURPRISE! The iconic guitar player and composer breaks down playing and recording songs written in high school in Humboldt with thrash heroes like Scott Ian and Dave Lombardo. Flexing different muscles on the lost Bungle “thrash record” and relearning those songs. The difference between the architect/director of a band like SC3, vs JUST being the guitarist. Repairing non-standard/esoteric instruments on the road. Time signatures that are not actually odd. Ches! Danny! Orthodox Theology and Byzantine Chant.
    Oh yeah, and King for a Day… Fool for a Lifetime by Faith No More too.
    All that and some high minded concepts, ideas and conception about composition, tones and what is and is not paint by numbers.
    Listen in to THE GRAND INQUISTOR (Conan Neutron) break it down with Trey.

    Trey is the nicest person in music I have ever had the opportunity to meet. He snuck be in the back at a Secret Chief's show after I was kicked out for sparking a d00bie. So I got backstage and still got to see the show thanks to him, Trey rules!

      It’s appalling how few people have ever heard of them. Bungle on the other hand everyone knows about, and in my opinion Bungle sucks. It’s got Mike Patton all over it.

      The ironic thing about the longhorn elektro-saz and neck breakage is that the genesis of the hybrid instrument was to repair a nice acoustic Izmirli saz bağlama that fell over at a gig and plumb broke in two. The body might have been repairable but I (the owner) thought of it as an opportunity to electrify the original instrument. So I bought a Dano lipstick tube pickup and hollow longhorn body from Fatdog at Subway Music in Berkeley and had a luthier in Alameda assemble it.

    On the topic of orchestration and "fun" sounding Metal - I wonder what Trey would think of Plini and Intervals
    Although maybe they are much more akin to "Fusion" than Metal, arguably.
    And on the subject of dissonance - I know what Trey means - but I'm guessing that people who say "dissonance is beautiful" , in certain songs , are probably improperly talking about how you can get a beautiful arrangement from using a dissonant chord but resolved with a harmonious chord. It's not the dissonant chord in itself that's "beautiful" but the fact that you can create an interesting harmonious arrangement that includes that dissonant chord.
    The weird concept of "ugly chords" is going around nowadays, and I literally just watched yesterday a video about it, by Paul Davids but he names it "Ugly vs Spicy" czcams.com/video/Cqos-GKSfNg/video.html

      First of all: It is very clearly LINKED in the comments the different feed for the superior audio. Bitching about it (something FREE I might add), only shows your lack of reading skills. At the time of this posting they were different feeds, since rectified. Also "suffering through"? All your favorite musicians love talking to me, the fact that you don't know who I am and ascribe my lack of fame as lack of quality is not my problem, dirtbag. You have the choice to put something cool into the world, or to spit vitriol. Be better. Also, let's hear your show. I'm sure it's FANTASTIC, and you can and will produce almost 300 episodes of it.

    • @ProtonicReversal
      @ProtonicReversal  Před 7 měsíci

      @@chrisslooter2825 That's pretty hard to do without multi track audio available... there have been almost 400 episodes of this show. I assume you didn't see the previous comment and description that there is a slightly superior audio feed available. Just rushed to comment and give your opinion. it's pretty clear. When you work in this format sometimes you end up in situations where it isn't ideal. For some reason that always seems to be when people are only doing a drive by for. Your condescending statement is wrongheaded and not even remotely welcome. I guess i'll update the link that none of you dudes read to point explicitly to that. Next time: say nothing.

    Really great insight into Trey’s perspectives. Umm Jimmy Protonic - wayy too loud, too much nervous annoying laughter, too many interruptions and too much about you bro. Let the man speak!

    • @ProtonicReversal
      @ProtonicReversal  Před 3 lety +6

      First of all, I was around and doing things far before the Jimmy of which you speak... secondly, I addressed the sound issue already. The youtube feed has that problem more than the proper podcast, which is linked in the comments. None of the laughter is nervous, I know what i'm doing. Can't speak to the annoying part, if you find it that way it is on you. Lastly, this is not a strict question and answer show. It is a conversation, if you don't like it... plenty more conversations out there. Thank you for listening.
