- Just Tell Her Jim Said Hello is one of those songs which although well made, produced and performed remains unremarkable in almost every way. It has a good story and melody and is a pleasant enough listen, but is miles way from being top notch material.
Elvis recorded the song on 19 March 1962, the second of a two day session at RCA studio B in Nashville. Seven songs had been recorded on the first day but this was the third of just four recorded on that second day. Of the eleven songs in total recorded over the sessions, only the final song, She’s Not You would be released as a single, with this song on the other side.

I was and still am a Big Fan of Elvis. It was about this time of year in 1962 I met this wonderful guy and we Married on May 4th 1963. We were married for almost 56 Years when he passed away on March 14, 2019. His name is Jim. ♥💔💘💞🙂

I agree with this persons assessment and disagree with Leon's take that it is unremarkable. The background arrangements are as good as it gets. To hear how it went from a slow beat to a faster one shows someone picked up on the fact that the faster beat was best.
What's not to like about this song - it is just awesome - Elvis's voice is just gorgeous on this beautiful melody - love it 💜🎵🎧🎶🎤

It’s a shame in the 70s his voice is not sound like this I like from 1960 to 1964. That’s where that man’s voice was the best listen to it’s now or never surrender enter it hurts me and others.
I really like this song. In the 80s as a child I used to listen to this on a 45 along with lots of other records my mum and dad had at that time. Great memories! I remember asking my dad if he could sing as high (guess I was about 8 years old, falsetto voice as I now know it as!!!)
