Truer words. Most of the people were young people making generic statement about someone famous.
Ask just what he said in last season, when was the last time he choked up during a show when a contestant wrote something rather than an question.
I bet no-one will know, alot of nice guy and national treasure.
So. Yeah it saddens me, People don't know him but trying to make a quick buck.
I betcha lot of stuff showing up on eBay or marketplace.
Who am I to judge.

My grand dad passed away at 94, he asked all of things to go to destitutes.
My father couldn't bare to part with his walking stick and some glasses.
All uncles gave away everything and kept gold and silver.
And lectured us for giving it away as it belong to him.
My father reply, "we all are also his, should I give you all away as you are younger to me. "
So we keep what's precious, everything gets left behind it's a sad truth of life.
His life is celebrated and he is past immortal because of his show.
We can keep watching him again and again.
That's what I like to keep.
I would rather honor his memory by just reminiscing about how much we miss him and the years he gave as host of "Jeopardy".
Can't wait to see all of this stuff on Ebay.

That bible might go for a lot, it was his personal bible with his name on it. Some rich religious jeopardy fan would pay a lot for it.
I couldn't bring myself to purchase anything he owned...ever. He was one of the rare celebrities worth celebrating.
And why do you think theyre buying it? Theyll go sell it at a pawn shop and get money for it. Its not something new when people go to SALES!

It is odd that people find this offensive. It is a very common practice for the rich and the poor to have estate sale companies help them to deal with a lifetime accumulation of stuff
I don't see anyone offended.
It's sad when you die you don't take nothing with you just a casket and a huge pile of dirt, all those years of hard work and struggle for what so that your family sells everything you work hard for it doesn't make sense. Like the old saying nothing lasts forever and life goes on.

I remember an interview with Alex at his home and how personal his items were to him as he pointed some out and said his house was filled with memories. Why would his family do this? Maybe these are the least personal items? Seems strange.
My sister and I did this with our parents home before we sold it. We spent months going through their stuff taking that which was important to us and them. But we couldn't take everything. It wasn't about the money. We also donated their collections to museums, libraries and universities. Hopefully this family was as respectful and did the same.
Why are people hating on the people going to his estate sale. Do you not now ppl have estate sales all the time. If your angry then you should be angry at Alex Trebek family for having an estate sale. Maybe Alex had so much stuff that his family has no use for it. I’m sure the family kept the real valuable stuff.

I bought a drill press from an estate sale down the street and someday it will be sold again. We don't own anything we just borrow it for a short time.

I don't have a problem with the fact that they will flip these items. It's their pretending they cared about the man. They're not even dressed respectfully. And it shouldn't be on the news.
Peoples’ affection for celebrities goes deep, it’s just the way people are in the age of media. It’s just a shame that so many of us are lonely when celebrities are suffocated with attention. Instead of pestering celebrities so much we should pay a little more attention to the people that few pay much attention to. They’re the ones who could actually use it
