I just bought a 1969 360 Sportsman 8 speed. What a fun ride. I had a 1968 250 in 1970 just before the Japanese invasion of Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Yamaha. Husqvarna went from the best to almost out of the bike business.
My dad had a 1974 Husqvarna CR400. What a beast. It was the first "real" dirt bike I learned to ride on. It was a bitch to start! But after you had it running it would be good all weekend.i remember the kick start snapping back at his leg and hearing a lot of cussing. He sold it around 1984 for $400 to a friend of mine. I was pissed and I cried. Whatever I was 16. I'd love to have it now. He had one of those old school desert tanks on it so the stock dark red and chrome one was mint.
Dial it in perfectly and really enjoy all that that machine can provide as far as riding pleasure is concerned. It sounds as though is is running a bit rich in this video. Still quite a great machine, even after 42 years! Well done indeed!
I'm old enough to have owned a couple of 400's and 450's in their time. Totally different feel compared to today's bikes. I loved the feeling of these bikes. Husky had a totally different feeling from the Japanese bikes at that time. Now, the difference doesn't seem to be so large. I don't think I was ever able to get any of my huskys to sit and idle like this one. And being 130lbs at the time, I sure didn't wanna start kicking that thing again!! lol Beautiful bike. Watch out for that tank bolt!!
Reminds me of my older brothers 250 Heika Mikola replica I love that peaky power band and that insane exhaust. I first rode that bike in the early seventies and bro still has it.
I had a major dejá vù all over again watching this. I owned a 1973 WR 250, same tank, same bars, similar noise, and when the camera angle pointed down it was a major flashback. Except I was a lot nicer to my bike than this rider is here
Je reconnais un peu! Je m'y suis souvent promené. .avec mon africa twin et 430 husqvarna que j'ai revendu par la suite! :( Tres belle moto, belle équipement, je suis jaloux!!
Thanks for your comments :) What do you mean with the tank bolt ? Also i'm having problems starting when hot now. I have to bring it back to the HVA specialist...
David Wilson hi david. What do you mean ? You don't like my riding ? (Btw : my electronic ignition was dead. I changed it and now it's perfect). Cheers
@@JeanMarieRaymon your ignition was dead but that old bike pulled the front end up. Old bikes have a lot of power. Its the handling that was sketchy lol.
there is no denying the riding was rough around the edges to put it mildly. Seemed like you were fighting the bike the entire time. You can treat it as you like, but for this posting, maybe a little less yanking and pushing would have worked out better

Back in my youth I had one exactly like it. Once you finally got it started it would go like hell. The bike was much more capable than I was. :) 🇺🇸
The fact that the bike doesn't turn is the rider's problem! For it goes straight like a bat out of hell. It reminds me of a T. Rex.
Vintage cross... Magnifique ! Conserve là bien et entretien là ne la laisse pas s abîmé 👍👍
