      Do you have the new emtf or the old blank. I just ordered the 2018 after watching this video but now am concerned that it's not a single hook application blank as discussed in this video.

    • @THPFX
      @THPFX Před 5 lety

      Ryan Michael the new emtf is a treble hook rod, the old emtf is a single hook rod. Although the new emtf will work for bottom baits as well

    Picked up the the 2018 spec r, took it out the same night I got it and the rod tipped snapped about 3 guides down on a hook set. Working on the warranty now and can’t wait to get the replacement and I’m hoping it was just a dud! Love the videos as always!

    which model should I get for throwing lipless cranks?

  • @ScooterBlia2
    @ScooterBlia2 Před 5 lety

    I kind of wished the Versatile was a little longer. Fishing mostly California deep reservoirs, I've grown used to using longer rods for farther casts and to help with them hook sets that are way out there. Megabass needs something like the Enforcer but in a baitcast model for those 1/4oz to 1/2oz texas rigs and shakey heads. Maybe something a bit less powerful than the Braillist.

    The new EMTF is said to be softer for treble hook baits and is supposed to be replaced by the Braillist for single hook applications, do you still believe that it's good for single hook baits?
    I just assumed you were speaking to your past experiences with the older EMTF and not the new one and I would like to know for sure because it definitely has my interest.

    • @BigBassDreams
      @BigBassDreams  Před 6 lety

      The new version is a bit softer but we feel it is still an option for SOME single hook applications. We are excited to get our hands on the new Braillist to compare and contrast.

    Which one do you recommend for throwing 1/4oz shaky head/chatterbait to heavier jigs/texas rig? I want a versatile rod that’ll cover treble hook/single hook applications. I bought the tour versatile thinking it’ll be the one but it is on the heavy power side and too stiff.

    Would the Megabass Levante F3.5-70S Shaky Head rod be good for 3/8oz big hammer lead heads w/ 3" swimbaits and would it also be good to throw the Duo realis spybait 80 ?

    • @BigBassDreams
      @BigBassDreams  Před 6 lety +2

      Yes, the shaky head special will fish the 3/8oz heads really nicely. It should throw the spybait well since it has a softer taper.

    • @BigBassDreams
      @BigBassDreams  Před 6 lety

      The USA Destroyers are faster than the new XX overall. Great for soft bait and jig applications. The XX series is quite versatile with several having softer actions that lend well to fishing hard baits with trebles.
