Treyarch used to make gun sounds non realistic but so punchy , satysfying and iconic. The aug was a slightly worse famas but I preferred it because it had such an amazing sound to it
Pre patch it was worse but not post patch. Post patch each had a couple advantages over each other
@@FreeSpeechAbsolutist7 AUG has the same TTK as the FAMAS post-patch but the AUG has a better reload, lower (but less predictable) recoil, better hipfire and sprint out time.
Every gun in Bo1 was viable. Nothing was balanced. Just required more skill than others. What makes bo1 so special.
@@CoDSucks I agree cause I loved the MPL, Spectre, Stoner63, HK21, Aug. I used the meta guns but it's more satisfying to use the slept on guns and murk. MPL was just too sexy of a gun.
AUG has some better recoil control, and when you’re as bad as I am, that goes a long way lol
This was the last CoD game that gave me the fizz. Look how crisp this shit is. You can actually react when you see someone. Every CoD after this for some reason felt like everyone else was a second ahead of you, it's so weird how consistent that feeling was after Black Ops 1.
Mw3 and bo2 were great games though
Probably my favorite thing was the visibility of your enemies. Bo2 did a good job too because the sharp bright colors

I think ghosts was where it all went downhill. I dont know if it was the next gen consoles or what but every cod game from that point on never really had the cod feel to it.
This is a really strange take since bo1 had the worst hit detection of any cod

This game deserves a full remaster. I know Treyarch wants to do that but Activision doesn’t realize they would make more money doing that than making new games
They could make a boatload just doing an exact remaster of MW, WaW, MW2, and BO1... But they're stupid, so they won't.

Yeah man cod went from a war arcade shooter to avengers g sliding down corners spraying you down. I mean it was nice to have a cod that felt like it had some identity and bases behind reality. Cod was never a milsim but cod sure was in a better place when the game stood true to whatever setting the title was based off of. A game that's just my team vs the enemy team has no identity. War games need factions simple

When I was like 8-9 this was the gun that got me obsessed with silencers as a kid. So much to the point that I even copied the WMD loadout from the campaign exactly with the same camos, acog, silencer, suppressed 1911 and all. Damn the memories!!

AUG with the Acog is actually the Rifle they use in the Austrian Army to this day! Even the dot in the middle is kinda accurate as i can remember.
That scope on the AUG used to come built in IRL back in the 80s. It was a 2x scope, I believe. Now AUGs just come with picatinny rails to mount optics
The magazines are gold, but not the receiver in spite of both being polymer 🤔

aug with dual mags was my go-to in this game (even though famas was probably objectively better). usually played domination. always ran flack jacket (instead of scavanger) and hardened instead of sleight of hand, so dual mags worked out well to replace those perks in a game mode where stealth mattered a little less

I was so into the campaign I remade the aug with sick black dot as acog and a suppressor oh and an attic camp of course. I had a clip of me pulling a clutch 4v1 search and destroy on Array with it. One of my favorite moments but with my ps3 being destroyed a while back it’s lost in the cosmos

I like using Warlord Pro, and throwing the ACOG and silencer together on the AUG.
A lot of the old CODs had great sounding guns. Like modern games have very eh sounding guns. Some try to record real gun sounds, but it never translates to the same effect in video games. But the OG CODs had guns that just sounded prime. Famas, AK47, MP5, and Commando for Black Ops 1. ACR, Barret, SPAS-12, RPD, and UMP45 for MW2/3. But if you put a silencer on these guns, then it's just supreme. Nothing else like it.

Call me crazy but I actually preferred this thing over the Famas. I remember it feeling smoother. And the iron sights are perfect in my opinion.

It’s undeniable that the Famas was literally just a better AUG in this game. Famas and aug had a similar sound esp suppressed, the Famas seemed to shred more, and you get the Famas sooner then you get the aug that’s why I never got into the aug but never minded using the Famas 0.5
