  • In November 2021 it was 12.5 years ago that this concert took place in The Hague, the Netherlands.
This performance in "Het Nutshuis" was organized on May 30, 2009 in The Hague by Willem Leeuwenhoek and Peter ter Horst. Willem invited Ricky Koole to sing along for this performance.
This video was already on CZcams in a lower image quality and had already been viewed 80,000 times in those 12.5 years.
You will see two songs: "Let them in" and the James Taylor song "You can close your eyes".

A friend of mine played this song as the memorial video for her father who died. He was a Korean Conflict veteran. She didn’t know about the song but I did. She said it was the greatest gift she ever received. John Gorka should know how far reaching his talent goes.

It's a hard job being surrounded by beautiful, talented women, but someone has to do it. By God, the man can sing though.

"Let them in" has a purity, depth and beauty that is so uniquely Gorka.

I’ve had this particular version on my “most played” play list for years now…it’s exquisitely beautiful…at certain times, it almost feels like a prayer to me.

I'm watching and listening to this on Veteran's Day, and as a Vietnam era Vet the tears are streaming down my face. Thank you John for sharing your beautiful voice, your quirky sense of humor, and your brilliant song writing. I've seen you in concert twice at Wolf Trap and can't help hoping for at least one more opportunity to see and hear you in person.

I'm also a Vietnam era vet and I used to enjoy John's concerts at the Ark in Ann Arbor, Michigan...the longest continuously run coffee house in the country. Thanks for the music and the wit, John.

Let Them In was the first song of yours I heard, John. I was waiting for my kid to get out of his grade school (he’s 35 now) and it came on NPR. I’ve been a fan since then. Best wishes to you and yours. Hope to maybe see you in Grass Valley again. Take care.

Well, "Let them In"! Singing that in Western Europe in very brave. The US has been involved in so many wars/conflicts in the middle-east, North Africa, Afghanistan and Ukraine which has unleashed an estimated 10 million refugees on to Western Europe causing so much unrest in those countries. But, let me ask, How many of those 10 million were welcomed into the US?" Sing that song in Washington DC and not over here,
