Those sounds are actually all throughout Halo CE’s campaign and multiplayer maps. Subtle hints that not everything is right about this giant hula hoop with evergreen forests and vast deserts.
When I play halo flood missions when I had 5,6,7 years old I was terrified by the flood, now I listen that I was terrified just like during my childood
The missions before this are awesome, you get pumped AF as you watch your allies get closer and closer to Truth. Then you barely have time to feel bad about him escaping. Suddenly you can hear all the soldiers you just saw put it all on the line, who you fought alongise, screaming as they get consumed like wheat in a harvester. Even better? The countless brutes you just killed? All of them are fresh Flood soldiers now!
It’s a woman getting infected, those screaming echoes you hear are people slowly getting infected, the screams become more frequent as you go deeper into the city
@@LucifersAngel-mu4mw you know the children in the choir you can often hear singing sadly, like when you die at the end? that's just a pitched up bungie employee, I forgot which but I believe he was namedropped in the developer commentary for reach.
I like to think the shrieking is actually a human being being infected and the roaring is them slowly transforming from a human being into a combat form, fully aware the whole time as the Gravemind crushes and absorbs their consciousness leaving nothing but the Flood's raw unrelenting hunger, their last strangled, desperate shriek mangled into a vicious inhuman roar!
Here’s an interesting fact, when you go to the flood engulfed high charity, you may wonder what you’re stepping on right? Well it’s actually remains of the different covenant species that used to inhabit High Charity. It’s pretty damn disturbing
Imagine on halo infinite you and your team slowly walk through the mona lisa, on a mission to retrieve data or rescue survivors and all you hear is this shit playing...
I have a guess as to why. At 1:10 you hear what sounds to be a woman screaming. And as the track continues, the additional screams become more deep and animal/monster like. Implying that the woman was being turned into a flood combat form or maybe even a carrier.
Woah, so, 2:06 - 2:50. Those sounds would mean that all of the roaring you'd hear outside of Hang 'em High in CE are actually the Flood. Creepy
More than likely now that I went back I heard it myself
@Dancing Swords Amazing callbacks too
Damn... you re great
Yas. I comfirm. There are the same flood screams

@@SavorySoySauce Where do you hear them in the campaign? I can't say I've ever noticed them.
Now THIS is scary, halo did so many things great, I'm surprised they haven't done a horror game. I would pay money to play something like that
Infinite is likely a horror game.
@@kevins7065 Aged like milk. They want that teen rating.
I'd say the halo 3 floodgate ambience and the halo 2 high charity ambience is genuinely spooky.
For reals especially High Charity😱

Don't remember these sounds on Floodgate but remember them on Cortana.

1:10 thats either a human or bobcat

Knowing how halo sounds were made, this was probably Marty making those noises and messing with them in post.
can't hear those kids on reach the same, swear i can tell it's just pitched up guys now
@@NotALotOfColonial_SpaghettiToG There were kids on reach!?

impossible, the mona lisa got destoryed by the red horse during the war why would it appear post war era?
Would be amazing if theu did add it, but maybe some day

The Flood are absolutely terrifying. No wonder ONI kept all knowledge of the Flood secret to the general public!
