And though I had to go and develop two other relationships a large part of my heart still belongs to her ..
I managed to re-establish contact her some 6 years ago ..
She is happily married and though we've caught up for Lunch on two occasions
And we remain in contact by text and the odd emails
She now lives in a different state ..
And with the China virus still with us I've not seen her again these past two years ..
My dilemma is though my feelings haven't changed towards her ..
I can't in all aspects tell her how I still feel

We could have been in the studio telling our story when they wrote this. I lost my beautiful Laura on Dec 3, 2023 after 15 years of a fairy tale. About the last conscious thing she heard before slipping away was me softly singing this in her ear.
I love Clay Walker & Gretchen Wilson. They both have AMAZING voices & so much talent! Both of their versions are so beautiful. I honestly think that they should make this song into a duet between themselves! It would be absolutely beautiful! Thats just my opinion though...haha

I've been trying to figure out, since I heard it on Leno last night, why this song makes me cry every time I hear it. Then I realized, it reminds me of my parents. It was the second marriage for both, after divorce and young widowhood, and they were each other's last love for 56 years until their deaths four months apart in 2006. They would have loved this song. Miss you, Mom and Dad.

I'm the survivor of Domestic Violence (my daughter's so-called father tried to kill me while I was pregnant), and there was a time I was so scared to let my guard down that I failed to get close to anyone and my now husband (we were best friends in school but no fault of anyone lost contact after graduating) found me again on Facebook. He asked me questions that only I would know. We picked up where we left off, him showing me how to love again, even loving my daughter as if she were his.
