It's very rare for a simple trailer to make me cry really hard. This one is one of those. It's not just Walt the dog's inner dialogue, but the fact that the poem talks about all the main characters, their goals, and the underlying subtext that it sounds like they are going to die in the war. Having followed the game and getting to know these characters makes it even more emotional when coming back to this trailer.
After beeting the game this trailer gets like 10 times more emotional.

This might be the saddest Video Game trailer I've ever seen. Although when it comes to making things heart-wrenching I'm pretty sure using dogs for emotional leverage is cheating.

I just finished this game tonight, and though I know you developers or Ubisoft may never read this, thank you. From an active service member in the Army, thank you for emphasizing the people who go into the hell of war, rather than the action and excitement of war itself. This brought a tear to my eye and I am sincerely thankful for this story you created.

A dog will wait and maybe die at your grave when no one else will. This trailer got something the game industry forgot a long time ago. a simple but life changing game dedicated to letters soldiers wrote in the first World War.
Just finished the game, was never interested in WWI games, but this one hit me different... and this trailer gave much more context after we beat the game... You're always by my side dog, and I'm sorry you had to watch all of it until the end.

Never seen a game, worth the money, and worth the tears. Never was so engaged. Always will remember this game, and the valiant hearts of the characters inside. To me, they all seem too real. Never will forget this, neither should anyone else.

vlad the impaler The game as a whole is not a tear jerked per se but very moving, but that ending makes the walking dead ending feel like a crash bandicoot game, specially when you realized is based on a true story
daniel delgado game would of been better if they took that evil German General out of the picture. Really made it feel comic book stereotypical for a good chunk of the game. It was super serious early on then just weird, then super serious around the end again when mr baron von douche bag finally vanished.

When Ubi made games with their hearts.
I remember when I first played this game and I found it comical at the beginning as if this was some cheap ww1 game, but things got worse and darker every chapter I played. There were moments that made me scream out for the protagonists to keep going and to not give up, I actually showed sympathy and emotions for a video game like I was there. As I got closer towards my goal this game brought me to so many tears that I literally cried as if I lost someone close in real life even though it's just a story that I wasn't a part of. I couldn't believe I was emotionally crying about a video game, it goes to show that this isn't some random money snatcher, it's a story that shows you the true nature of war and separation from your loved ones who you wish you could still be with.
This game is totally worth every damn cent in your wallet to play, don't even think twice about it, just play and witness the story for yourself without the internet being by your side.
Reading your description and hearing this video at the same time make me cry alot.

So dramatic, extraordinary hillarious stories, i'm not haters of Battlefield series or compared BF1 with this game, but this game deserve the best in the Stories. Media is always so caught up with the violent video games and how 'evil' they are. They act like they're the only games out there and when games like this come out, they turn a blind eye. I haven't even seen big youtubers play it besides jacksepticeye. It's really disheartening.

This game was amazing I will play it again in 2021
What I love about this game is how they treat the memory of those who fought in the Great War. Its not about the political and diplomatic issues which subjected Europe to misery, but the show of human tact and strength, so beautifully portrayed by the vivid characters which you control in this game. The compassion which is showed by Anna, the resolve showed by Emile. They aren't your orthodox war game characters. Finally a game which treated the conflict the respect it deserves.
I never thought I say this since Assassins Creed 2, but well done Ubisoft.

This game is an example of art. It is a wonderful presentation of what happened during the WW1. I'm glad there are still war games, that actually present a story instead of SHOOT TARGET, CAPTURE A, GO TO B.

there have been more than enough World War 2 games. The Great War was too Horryfying for it to slip to obscurity - It was a war without glory. Without a Definitive Good or bad side, it didn't have swift battles or highly mechanized confrontations. Just a trench, knee deep of mud - and your own despair keeping you company.
