So I watched your video three times and followed your instructions closely about pushing the latches forward that are in the truck on the sides. But that lid that holds the convertible cover/top won't open, it seems to be locked down somehow by some mechanism. I bought the car this way so I have clue how to fix it. Any tips??

    Hi, Great video, thanks for the time and effort.
    In my case:
    I’m having a top open/close issue. My vehicle is a 2008 SAAB 9-3 2.0T Convertible.
    I’ve checked for leaks all about, and all is dry.
    In my case though, I began moving the car from a parked position very very slowly, @3mph or lil’ less, while holding the top-down button. I know, the big No-No.
    Result has been that the top no longer fully closes into the trunk/boot, on its own w/out a little manual help.
    Similarly, in the reversal in that the top-up activation (from a fully open, top in the trunk/boot) I (w/another’s aide) must manually pull the top out of its pocket (in the trunk/boot) until it’s out about 10 degrees angle. The top then takes over and close on its own.
    Any help or info reference would be greatly appreciated.
    Spring is just about here in Central Indiana (USA).

    Unfortunately i keep getting a notification light saying to fully open or close the convertible top. Pops on Everytime i stop n go, just loke every few min at least. To the best of my knowledge, its locked down properly. Its now winter time so i would like to lock it all back into automatic mode. But im having trouble finding the directions of how i do that.. i figured those to things in the trunk get pushed in or pulled out but that doesnt seem to be doing the trick.. im not sure what im missing. But yeah to sum it up, i unlocked it months ago because i had the leaking hydrololic as well and it wouldnt open and close by pushing the button after a while. So i either pushed or pulls the things on both sides of the trunk, then unlocked the parts on both sides of the top in the rear seats areas. Then unlocked the one above the windshield. When o closed i locked both parts on the top near both sides of the rear seats. Yhen locked the one in the front middle above the rear view mirror. And ive been getting the alerts in the info area in middle of dash saying "Either fully open or close convertible top" or something like that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Great informational video! Thank you for making it. I have 2 questions: 1. How did you manage to loosen the two side flaps of the top, in order to have access to the hex holes for locking the window down? I tried, but couldn't get the flaps loose. I had a hell of time seeing those holes, and had to approach them at an upward angle with the hex driver, because those flaps were so tight and close to the trim, as to be barely lifted up. As a result, I did finally get the window locked, but only after the hex driver popped out of the hole several times on each side, because it could only get a solid hold in the hole at the bottom, from that angle.
    2. Even though everything (top, window, cover) are secured, I keep getting a dashboard alert chime and a message stating: "Complete soft top operation." Every time I stop for a traffic light or stop sign, and resume driving I get it. I was holding the electric switch to raise the top when it stopped working (it's an electric/hydraulic one). Apparently the computer thinks that the top is still only half-way raised. Did you get that as, well. If so, how did you stop that?

    • @dittok3903
      @dittok3903  Před 4 lety +1

      The flaps inside? I just pulled away the inside cover that is attached by velcro and inserted the tool in, unlocked the hinges. Regarding the alert. Yep... The only answer I had was to pull the fuse. My radio was going out anyways because of the amp. So, I just used a bluetooth speaker with my phone.

      @@classicfilmsfan yes the rods are only attached to the middle,with the single screw in the center on the little alloy bit.to unlock the roof manually to start with there are videos on here that show that process,and once you’ve opened it you can leave the back cover up whilst you remove the trim from the front ,you can then manually close the roof without that trim and can access everything from inside the car

First red flag, gas was half gone, and some things missing plus, every time now when it excels into orange the turbo, it starts to putter out, and they say I have oil leaks when I didn't before, all I asked for was oil change and to fix the loud exhaust, they said they couldn't, and I offered to order part they said they wouldn't, over all inspection oil change cost me 600$

      Can't edit my comment for some reason. I meant to start it saying, "Great job. My only critique would be to show people how to get behind the flaps on each side of the top" I tried prying mine which was a mistake on my part. You simply stretch it (pull it) towards the front of the car and it can be lifted out of its slot.. Best way I can describe it.. But yeah, wondering if I need to lock something down after I put the top down because the cover that is over the hidden top is the slightest bit raised and my trunk won't pop open with the button.. as if it's recognizing it ain't fully locked down or something.
