Just for everyone who sees this, most lures work under the assumption that you are anti-luring them, they purposefully make it obvious to make you think you are smarter than them, you are not. Swede got lucky and now that people have seen this video they will expect others to try this exact anti-lure, they will change it to make sure this doesn't work, and that what Swede did is quite psosibly the lure itself. Be careful and don't do anything lurers say because you are not smarter than them.

The actual lure and what will happen if ppl attempt this is that at the part at 10:35 when you traded, they use an animation stall that drags you. People who see this vid will assume the lure goes as deep as your steps, but it's shorter. Then they get killed 1 shot due to HP low.

How do these video makers NOT know this. I’ve seen other videos like this one where they unintentionally make the viewers think that there is another step but it’s the trading part that will get you killed.

It wouldn't happen because he clicked the character model. You only get dragged out if you hit the trade in the chatbox. They usually use a similar named account to trade u then tele away somewhere close and run back close enough so if you click trade you will path to them.
@@broscapers wrong. the character model is stalled and it doesn't represent their actual tile they're on. clicking them and then trade, or clicking trade in the chatbox will get you dragged regardless
@@broscapers That is objectively false, the clickbox on a playermodel can 100% be completely disjointed from their actual position in the world. It is not safe to trade anybody in a PvP world, animation stalls work nomatter how you trade the other player, it will still path you to their location.

I went along with a lure exactly like this. When I was too smart to fall for the trade animation stalling, they told me (while I was in the trade window), to prove how fast I could click by removing all my expensive items from the trade window.
The ego in me that wanted to show how fast i could gear swap went along with it, and then as I was mid-clicking my items in the trade window they exited out so my clicks were registering on the ground outside the bank - thankfully I clicked back inside fast enough that I survived, but they genuinely had so many alternatives prepared beyond what I would’ve thought of initially.

3:09 you're supposed to see the rarer item and notice you didn't get it, then the lurer is supposed to be angry you didn't get more. That feeling you felt "I could've gotten an arcane too" no, they intended for you to see it but not get it. That's 100% part of the scam, and now you feel like you need to "make it up" to the original guy.

for everyone watching this, the real lure is a trade stall, they want to see all the items in your inv then they decline and use a stall to get you to trade again.
when you trade with them for the 2nd time you will be dragged out into the dangerous area and killed.

Don’t ever think you can anti these guys because that’s exactly what they want you to think. Also these exact lurers in this video will see this and won’t fall for it again, not to mention Swede was in max gear (1B+) gear and got the right RNG to hit that guy. The risk isn’t worth it :)

There are a few widely known animations that freeze your player model in place while you are able to change your actual tile location. Should you click trade it will drag you to that player. Thats one single variation of like 100 that these lurers could have been doing. Notice it took Swede a long time to find a scammer willing to approach him, maybe Swede expressed his disappointment to someone off hand and somehow that was repeated in the company of a lurer. The lurers now formulate an OBVIOUSLY SHIT version of a lure to make a great video (read as: advertisement) about how easy it is to scam a lurer. This game isnt as big as everyone likes to pretend the communities are tightly connected and small. The lurers that exist now have been here for 10+ years doing this shit, they know the game better than you or I do.

They said they gotta bring my health really low and I don’t need to skull so felt safe. I think the way they drag you out of bank is by trading you on an account that has similar name and then running out to PVP while the "ORIGINAL ACCOUNT" is still at the bank in front of you, so you would think you're trading him by pressing trade in chatbox and then you run outside towards the other person that had similar name.

they will also trade you a bunch of junk items, and ask you to trade back, then decline while you are putting items in trade window, hoping you will click outside bank when they decline. or they will just try to get you to hop in a dangerous bank like dig site bank, thinking all banks are safe
They don't run, they teleport. Thats why they choose places like canifis. They trade you and tele to the pub so you never see anyone run. But when you trade you will run towards the pub.

They animation stall or log in with an identical name that’s outside the bank. The animation stall drags their character outside the bank, so when you trade them it drags you out. Usually they do this after they’ve confirmed you have items, so the first trade you did was to confirm the items, they’ll fake decline or say oops or show again and that’s when they drag you.
I got done by that lure too, legit befriended me for months for 2b. Was gonna teach him TOA for him to show me COX, so props for you to for getting them back!

I tried anti lure once knowing full well I was being lured, and they still got me. Most of these people are social savvy and work in teams too. I got animation stalled and dragged in a trade. Was my own fault for entertaining their lure. But it goes to show that it's best to just ignore the people. Runescape is one of the only mmo games where you are better off not interacting with others lol.
Their lure involved the varrock upper castle. The 3 other players were using a 3rd age ring or whatever it was to disguise themselves as objects on the jail cell floor. I was standing behind a door and told to drop my items and trade. When the guy accepted my trade, in the same tick, he walked a space away, pulling me from the spot. The other 3 quickly went over to the spot, dropped a box trap while one person spammed the door to keep it open, blocking any chance to get to that tile. It was clever and they were proud of themselves. Lost 300m in that one and gained a valuable lesson.

I got physically nauseous while watching your video, as I have fallen victim to a very long-term scheme/lure myself just over a month ago. Long story short, it started three months earlier when I was doing group ToAs while learning, at that time I was a small fish to fry, but throughout the time my bank was going up significantly. That guy added me after doing a few runs and we stayed in contact both on Discord and in-game. We'd occasionally do some runs, have long talks on Discord and share screenshots of our extremely poor RNG and overall progress. Simply said, he earned my trust to the point where I'd consider him a RuneScape friend. Never in my wildest dreams would I have guessed that this was all a plan for me to let my guard down and get lured, but it happened. I lost 827M worth of items while I thought I'm about to go do some more raids with him. It left my bank at 20M, so I was left with nothing. It was devastating and it had a severe impact on my mental health and even though I keep trying to get back to where I was, it has been very difficult. I wish they would realize this is not just taking "pixels" off of people, this is stealing property that has both physical and mental value. This can hurt someone more than they would ever imagine. Stay safe guys and good luck on your rebuilds whoever has also fallen victim to this.
I kinda get how you feel. I lost 75% of my bank. Logged off after a task one night, logged in the next morning and my toon was naked in lumbridge. Got hacked. Took everything my toon was wearing (my most expensive gear). Actively trying to find a way back now

I tried to outsmart a lure like this… but they were actually doing something slightly different than I thought.. they stalled when trading and it pulled me out of the bank. I had my other account ready to log in and attack, but they got away.

Haha nice gg, I did get lured for around 500m but it could've been more lol. Same stuff happened and the way they got me out of bank was because I had to take my items out of the trade and while doing he declined, I clicked next to bank by accident and got specced out by claws. But that's not the end, he was like our boss is sorry or whatever and wanted me to meet in another place where "he" would give back some stuff. I just had to take items out of the bank and equip, trick was that it was not a safe bank so I was just gonna be specced out again and lose even more (luckily noticed in time lol, was just curious to the next scam). I did also have a guy who was talking in the beginning saying be careful got scammed but it felt like he was part of the scam trying to put my focus on the wrong lure-style. So idk I kinda feel like you maybe gave the gp back to one of the lurers but if not you did a great thing :p Anyways great vid and end of my story lol

Just wanted to find out what the lure was and see if I could anti-lure (like most people try probably :p) and I found out the way most people probably do :p Was nice to see because afterwards I realized they were never risking anything besides the ACC who was ready to PK me. They never gave me anything like an elder maul or anything, they just got me from the start because I was too curious :p GG WP to them like I also told them before never talking to them again :p Now I know not to fuck around anymore cause I don't wanna find out anymore :p CBA the possible reward cause if they good then you can never really gain anything, only lose :p

That first clip by the Enclave was exactly where someone tried luring me once - I clocked it long before the attempt happened. Went along with it - Did the whole "loot this stuff naked" and walked away with a free 4m for 10 minutes of work - Then I just told him "You'll need to do better than that". He then tried to play stupid in the voice chat and spent the next 15 minutes saying everything he could think of to convince me to help him "Anti lure" before giving up and blocking me in game and on Discord LOL! That 4m went straight into Slayer supplies, so thanks mate 🤣

THIS IS A PART OF THE LURE.
People make videos to try and make it seem like they can get away with anti-luring, like how the person pretending to be his friend in the video is showing him how to anti-lure, but it's actually a part of the lure, and this video is just another layer in that same scam.
You will not ever out smart lurers, they literally do this as a full time "job". Anything you can think of to attempt to anti-lure them, they've seen a thousand times over and is literally just a part of the lure, they are always 10 steps ahead of you. Lures work under the assumption that you are anti-luring them, they purposefully make it obvious to make you think you can outsmart them, and that's how they catch you.
Near the end at 10:35 when he trades him in the bank, they will use an animation stall that drags you out, which obviously doesn't happen in the video, because he's in on it. He then logs into his main in max to PK the lurer, which is what they are hoping for, bringing them even more loot, and they will double venge and spec you out in the blink of an eye. Either way they'll get you in the bank, or they'll get you trying to PK their luring account.
This video needs to get taken down, this dude is assisting scammers by tricking players into thinking they can actually anti-lure when it's literally what the scammers are hoping for and he is trying to get you to play into their hands.
