It does sound like that’s what he said. Despite having multiple health issues, his voice remained strong as you can tell from this performance. Thank you so much for keeping the memory of Elvis prominent in our hearts, and for always being respectful to the King. Your channel is the one true Elvis channel for me. Appreciate all you do. 👏👏👏🥰🇨🇦
That’s definitely what he is saying, “Hit me with it!”
One of the genuinely true solid gold performers. And one that must have been in a class all of his very own. And one of a very select group that really did change everything. Before Elvis we had frank Sinatra dean,Martin and all those good old fashioned middle class values, I say old chap boys men girls and ladies wearing the same black white and Gray's and listening to the same black white and gray, a Mery month in June and wonderful day dreamer music to commit suicide to that had been there since Moses himself was a young man. After Elvis arrived EVERYTHING was is in loud brilliant tecnecoulour would never EVER be the same again. And despite the sad terrible way it may have ended, and what ever you may or may not think of that last tragic chapter, he really had become the nightmare b side of the great American rock n roll dream. But his magic and influence now seems stronger and to burn more brightly than ever. Legends after all surely take a long long time to die. By,reg symes of sirhowy south, wales
@@lindasuarez1050help me with it
Without ever really giving this an extreme amount of thought, I'd always thought he said "Help me with it"
He use to say that all the time to the band,. & JD Sumner,. He loved it when the band would come in or when Ronnie would come in or JD with that deep voice,. He always said hit me,. Or hit me with it,. Like,. Let’s hear it,. Let’s Go! Hahaha! That was E
You are probably right. Makes more sense.

Everyone, listen carefully I know for a fact, a fact that Elvis said ‘help me with it’. If you would have listened to him earlier taliking with Charlie, he said that to him. I have a connection to this concert, that’s all I’ll say. So now you can lay that to rest Elvis the man!
Hi David, I think you are right about ‘hit me with it’. What a voice Elvis had.
I also always heard "Hit me with it"."
In the earlier years, like the 50's, if you listen to his studio recoordings, like the recordings from the first take to the master, he often said to the band "Let's hit it", or just "Hit it" in that very heavy Southern accent he had.
Right, exactly. 👍🏻
Until the very end his incredible voice never failed him
This hurts my soul and makes me cry - God Bless him and keep him.
He defiantly said "Hit me with it". Also I gotta point out kudos to him for pushing through this performance despite his poor health, I never watch his last performance cuz I didn't like seeing him like that but now as I was watching I see what a trooper he was being even though I could see in his eyes that he wasn't doing too well. His voice never failed him through.
Always thought it was "help me with it".
I hear "Keep with it" telling himself to indeed keep with it, as the highs and low notes were sang.
Elvis said "Hit me with it." Thanks for listening and letting us know. Lovely day.❤🎉😊
No.
Rediculas!!!! In a slow emotional ballot he is going to say, hit me with it??!! To whom??? The band was letting Elvis have this one and only provided minimal backing. On another point, at the very end of the song, Elvis' fingers left the key board for a second or two, but the piano was still playing!!!!!!! Tony Brown must have been shadowing Elvis on his piano and helped Elvis along. He could have been telling Tony Brown to help him with it???!!!
Sounds like that's what he said.
He gave everything right up to the end.
Did you hear the moment before he sings "are you lonesome tonight" and he mutters "....I am.... I was....anyway, excuse me" poor elvis :(
Yeah, and he looks at his finger, or fingernail and says "Damn, I mean darn, excuse me."
Yeah…
Yes
Yep I agree! Great performance even in his physical shape!! GREATEST ENTERTAINER EVER AND EVER!❤❤❤❤
Absolutely that’s what he said 💯💕💕💕💕
Alright!!
He did indeed say it and his voice never failed no matter how sick and tired he was, something that always astonish me
I’m in Nashville this weekend for my younger son’s baseball tournament. He saw the Elvis movie and has wanted to go to Graceland since then.
We are going to drive over to Memphis
Sunday after the last game and going to Graceland Monday morning.
Good luck on solidifying a new Elvis fan! 🔥
@@ElvisistheMan_ thanks!
I read somewhere that Charlie said to Elvis , "stay with it" and Elvis replied "I'm with it" since he was struggling with his breathing . No matter what was said , Elvis gave a masterful performance ! TCB forever !
Always sounded like “I’m with it” to me
@@ericbiddle3369 Agree!
Hit me with it and there's something else that I've been wanting to say Dave you know the song where he's saying no one will care no one would cry no one would care if I live or die he was so wrong I wish we could tell him he was wrong that we miss him so much everyday
I was thinking about that when I posted that intro to this video
@@ElvisistheMan_ you know Dave I've always heard great minds think alike take care and God bless
Oh Sherron, my eyes filled with tears reading your comment...nearly 50 years without Elvis in person, and we still grieve the loss of that great man😢😢
@@Patracat yes we do
Sounds like he says heck with it
I also want to tell you, thank you for all that you do on here for the king. It always makes me happy when I find a younger person who knows who Elvis was, and believe it or not everyone I asked no matter what age even a six-year-old and he said “of course I know who Elvis is “ it made my heart sing.
He is the man! Greatest of all time
@@ElvisistheMan_you are 100% correct...thank you David for all you do to honor and respect this human being with the enormous heart. We miss him so much.❤😢
G.O.A.T!!!!!!
Hi David ♥
I always thought he said "stick with it" but after you have said "hit me with it" I think your right, it makes more sense. Thank you David xxx 💝
He was asking Charlie Hodge to ‘ help me with it”….. that’s what I always thought he said.
Definitely “ Hit me with it”. Wow! Powerful! 😢😢such an amazing beautiful soul. I miss him daily. There’s not a day goes by that I don’t think of Elvis. My mother was pregnant with me when she came to Shreveport, Louisiana, Dec. 15, 1956 to see Elvis at the Louisiana Hayride. That concert most definitely marked me in some supernatural way. 😂I was born a month later on January 27, 1957. I have loved him ever since.
I think he was telling Charlie, help me with it. In his southern accent, it might be confused for something else. He already to Charlie to hold his rings, show him the right chords, show him the right keys, as Elvis didn't know already!!!! He just wanted Charlie to help him with this song. That's my take.
I always thought he was saying to Charlie ‘help me with it’.
Sounds like it. What an incredibly powerful performance that was, it moves me to tears sometimes 🥲👑
Never even knew it was up for debate. He definitely says hit me with it. Have also heard him using "lay it on me" in the same vein at this point.
👍🏻
Definitely “HIT ME WITH IT”. I also want to THANK
YOU FOR ALL YOU DO TO KEEP ELVIS ALIVE FOREVER WITH US AND HELPING YOUNG PEOPLE TO KNOW ELVIS PRESLEY AND HOW UNIQUE AND GREAT HE WAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE❣️.
I truly appreciate what you do.
Thank you with all my heart❣️❣️❣️
I always thought he said, "Help me with it."
I feel Elvis's voice was amazing here in this song . Opera quality!!!
I always thought he said “Help me with it”. I’ve been a touring and studio musician for 30 years, and toured with some of the biggest icons in country music. I do know that at other times Sherrill Nielsen would help him with the high notes at the end if he was having an off night. I figured it was that he was asking Sherrill to cover him, and/or for the band to build that ending.
I thought that he always said; "Help me with it"!
Always thought he was saying help me with it
Yes. He always wanted to be sure he gave his audience the most wonderous performance. He was and is so amazing. Elvis lives through his beautiful performances and through his grandbabies.
I always thought: sing me with it. But hit me with it sound even better
Alright 👍🏻
I know what I am saying….he was GREAT!
That's what he said, "hit me with it," meaning crank up.
Absolutely what he said.
Right on!
To me hearing this song over and over it sounds like he’s saying help me with it
'help me with it"
Yes David I’ll say that he said hit me with it! Sounds good to me I’ll agree! Thanks for this video! Never get tired ifxx vs Elvis’s performances👍⚡️
Sound like “hit me with it” for the win!
Yes that's what he said Love Elvis THANK YOU ❤❤❤
No thank YOU for watching
He says "Help me with it." The band didn't help him with it. They didn't play, probably because they didn't catch his request.
Any backing vocals or music other than Elvis's piano heard on various other versions of this performance were later overdubbed.
The band actually did play but it was removed in some movie releases. The official release from Moody Blue on the other hand was overdubbed with additional instruments.
100% "Hit me with it". I've never even questioned this, because you can hear the orchestra begin to play strongly right after this.
I've always felt he was saying "keep with it", to himself, because he was struggling a bit with his breath but overall, was pleased with how he felt he was doing and wanted a Great Live Version of Unchained Melody on film for the Concert Special they were filming. ❤
He was telling Charlie help me with it.
Either way, its a tear jerking performance for me. Thank you Dave for sharing some of these special clips that not all fans have the ability to hear. 🕺🏼👑❤️🔥⚡🎶
He will always be the King and the most talented, hottest performer/artist in the history of forever!! 🔥😍
And it does sound like that’s what he said.
J'ai toujours les frissons ❤quand je l'écoute
You’re right bro!!You changed my mind because I always thought he asked Charlie Hodge to help him.Great job!
😎
I always thought the same thing I thought he was asking Charlie to help me with it.
Pienso como tu, parece obvio que quiso decir eso.
Elvis en esta actuación lo dio todo, puso su alma ha pesar de estar tan enfermo, como siempre no defraudó a sus fans ELVIS FOREVER ❤
Love the simple topic…I always interpreted over the years as Elvis asking Charlie to “help me with it”.. thoughts??
I feel like he said “hit”rather than “help.” Like “everyone come together for the ending.” IMO
I too think he was looking at Charlie and asking him to help me with it. Knowing that The big note and the ending was coming up.
HIT ME WITH IT !!!!!!
!!
That was my favorite part of the song. “Hit me with it.” Then everyone else joining in.
He is saying "Help me with it." referring to the piano playing..
I believe it is indeed help me with it but for the last note coming up because he didn’t hold it long
Definitely “hit me with it,” cueing the band & singers to come in.
Absolutely, great ear.thank you yes very beautiful and amazing powerful voice
THANKS MAN LOVE WHAT YOU DO KEEP DOING IT GREAT MAN PEACE
Right on! Thank for watching
@@ElvisistheMan_ YESSIR I ENJOY YOUR VIDEOZ I AM A LIFELONG ELVIS FAN BEEN A FAN BEFORE ELVIS PASSED NOBODY LIKE ELVIS PRESLEY MAN HES FOR SURE STILL AFTER ALL THESE YEARS A 1 OF A KIND PERSON ENTERTAINER MAN I CANT PUT IT INTO WORDS BUT THANKS MAN TAKE CARE.
Yes That Is What Elvis Said Hit Me With It As In Saying Take It On Home Baby As He Would Sometime Say Dave You Are Always On Point💯
Right on! Thanks
😅I think you nailed it David..whoa, now I CAN sleep tonight 😂 Thank you!!!
Goood!!! 😆
It does sound like “ Hit Me With It “ strong voice even then !
Thats what HE said "Hit me with it" ❤ ❤ ❤
There’s also a part after he sings” lonely time”
And glances
Up at Charlie, where I believe he momentarily forget where he is in the song,if you listen he holds on the last part of the word time,as he looks at Charlie
He definitely says Hit me with it.
I have always thought he was saying to the band, “help me with it.” I still believe that.
Definitely he says "Hit me with it" Absolutely right.
Alway thought it’s either stick with it or get with it . Makes sense telling himself to stick with it as he’s about to go for the big notes
I agree that is what he said. I forget what some of the other thoughts on this were. Elvis talked like this a lot during performances, and I never really understood the issue. Other than the falsetto, I felt his voice was amazing. I’m sure he would have done it differently earlier in his career. Thank you for sharing!
A very important topic to both the history and the man! This was good!
Right on!
"Hit me with it". Kind of similar to how he said "Aw, get on it!" at the beginning of the studio version of "Promised Land".
Yeah, right!
I have listened to it a few times, and I think a stand corrected,I have always thought that he was saying stick w/it ,but listening now I keep hearing hit me w/it after all theses years thinking he is saying one thing but now I do think he was talking to the band..hit me with it. 😊
Yep I can definitely clearly hear “….. with it “ !and I’ve listened to loads of his old songs and there is always a part in them where he says to the band “ hit me “ and that’s the part where they all up it a notch ! So it makes sense that’s what he is saying. At least I can sleep easy now that that has been cleared up 😆… thankyou xx
it would be great if you could do the whole song a cappella for us. I think you are spot on with what he says. I always thought the same. COME ON LADS LETS DO THIS!
Never thought it was anything else. Totally Elvis' style
I think he says « help me with it » because Charlie would often give him the name of the chords for the song or the lyrics
He is saying “hit me with it”
You can her the “T” very clearly.
He wanted the band to know he was ready to go to the next level
❤❤❤
Yes, I think you’re right!😊😊
I think you’re right. I’ve always thought he said Help me with it, but now you’ve focused on it I believe it’s Hit me with it. Love your videos, they are the best.
Yes that's what he said hit me with it.
Yep absolutely. Hit me with it. Easy.
I just wanted to thank you for all the contents you bring on your channel it is well appreciated yes that is what he said
Sounded like hit me with it
I always used to think he was saying ‘get with it ‘ to himself, but I think you’re right.
👌🏻
Hit me with it yes your right definitely
"Hit me with it" did I already hear he said back in the eighties when I heard that version.
❤ thanks for clearing that up… No doubt in my mind that that IS what he’s saying
Wow. I always thought he said “Hang with it”. I thought he was talking to himself trying to encourage himself to keep going. Thanks for clearing that up.
Yeah that’s what I think
Yes yes ! Hit me with it !!
Although we did not like Pricilla and we’re not going to watch her movie! I finally started watching the episodes and l really changed my mind about Pricilla. She truly loved him. Has not changed my mind about Elvis at all. I still Adore him and he was the greatest singer performer and dearest man ever! The most handsomest man in the world always and forever! Most giving and loving man ever….❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yeah, I think he says Hit me with it 👍
I thought he said “im gonna do this” and that when he he went on to take a very deep breathe and sang are you still mine. He sang the same chorus twice when he should have been singing are you still mine. I’ve always loved this version. The one and only Elvis! ❤
It sounds like hit me with it.
Those vocals only are awesome
I have played that over and over trying to understand what he said. Funny you knew what i was wondering and answered my question. I never could figure it out. thank you.
For the longest time, I thought he was saying get with it. Thanks Dave for correcting this. Good 👍 catch as usual. TCB
This mystery solved. ❤
😓
It does sound like he says hit me with it.😊💖
I knew it was, "Hit me with it." I just didn't know why. Good answer!!
Always thought he said ‘Hang with it’. Never really gave it a second thought, but really paying attention to it definitely sounds like ‘hit me with it’
David, I believe you are correct.
Agreed! I said that the second I heard it right before you said what it was. That’s 100% what he’s saying.
I heard "hit me with it".
I always thought he said hang with it. You have a great channel and do a wonderful job. Keep up the good work. Thank you
That's Exactly what he says Brother! I've always thought that, great job, thanks for the vid T⚡C⚡B⚡👍
I always thought it was help me with it cause he was sick
He was telling Charlie "Help me with it" cause Charlie would always do highlights live
Listening to the "Elvis Live On Stage" album from 1977 reveals Elvis's exact words here are "Hit Me With It."
