i was at this concert...i was up a tree on the left facing the stage...i was up there by myself shaking the tree when brucie came running down the right of the stage to the end of the run off and shouted "hey you guys be careful up there" i went berserk i shook that tree sooo hard looked to my right and saw 111.000 people looking at me..........i will never forget that wonderful day of my life ....i was 20 yeeeee haaaaaa....
Best gig I ever been too - near the front and 3 hours of solid music... He was at his ultimate on that day and 17 years later I still get chills when I remember him singing 'Glory Days'...
I was 10 in 1985 and my teacher went to see Springsteen here. She told us all about it (even though we didn't know who the hell he was, lol). Ms Bell (from the now-defunct Drummond Middle School in Bradford), if you're reading this, say 'Hi' :)
This was my first Bruce concert..i cannot wait to see him again. The way up was pretty quick, but after the motorway it was a 2 hour crawl to the park. Then we couldn't find the entrance so missed the very start..but so worth it. we were up on the hill and had a great view.I'd love to have this on dvd.
I remember this one, I should have been way up on the hill, but the guys trying to check tickets just gave up and let everyone in. We ended up right near the front, brilliant concert. So hot!!
Was great to find this footage. I still have my ticket and programme up in the attic! Went up by coach from s Wales and had a fantastic day. Actually quite emotional thinking back to those sunny days and wonder where the last 27 years have gone.
Was there with my then pregnant wife,my daughter was born 15th february 1986(so she was 30 yesterday),This was my 1st Bruce gig,i`ve now seen him 30 times, and been on front row for his secret intimate St lukes church, london gig for the BBC.
Well done for putting is up, a great memory. I was there with my sister and girlfriend and it was unforgettable. I remember tickets being resold outside the gates and there must have been thousands more people inside than there should have been. We were on a path miles back alonside the hill, but what a day.
I found my t shirt from this gig the other day which prompted me to look up this video. Brilliant memories of an unforgettable day. He shook my world that day.
Tickets £14.50 each-shocking :-) great vid.i remember seeing this on tv,i was gutted because i wasn't alowed to go because i was too young my parents said-i was 13!
@duderino1969 This was my first gig. I was 5 but I remember it. We weren't near the front, but I loved it and couldn't care. Every long hot summer of my life takes me back to this one. Weid watching the video, everything seems so antiquated and colourless, but in my memory its so sharp and gleaming. Must have been the atmosphere.
this was the first gig i ever went to. amazing experience. second gig i went to was the jesus and mary chain, who played for about 15 mins under a hail of plastic pint pots before walking off. both gigs were formative moments in their own way.
I was one of the "hundreds" who sneaked over the fence. There were thousands of people just walking in by the finish, no need for a ticket at all. We were stuck on the road between Leeds and Wetherby for hours on the way back up to Durham. The trafiic ground to a complete standstill and people were wandering about on the road all night, nothing moved. If my memory serves me right this was the same day that Boris Becker beat Kevin Curran to win his first Wimbledon singles title.
brings back memories, i was one of the gatecrashers, never heard of him til that day i drove past, wondered what goin on and bust in, tho i mind it was hells angels doing the security..i remember havin to run to second fence dodging them....bought his albums after this tho.
The corrugated sheets were held on by roofing bolts, there was a guy on the road selling 13mm spanners for a fiver. I'm proud to say I didn't buy one as I brought one from my car toolkit. Security were trying to put the sheets back up but to no avail. There were more than hundreds got in free, probably a couple of thousand. Very memorable, great gig
saw bruce & the e street band @ newcastle the week before where i had a ticket, paid 3 times face value to see the one @ leeds robbing cockney tout b@stards but worth every penny :-))
I was there near the front, blew my mind!!! 4 hours of high energy vibes and one of the best days of my life
