Diesel Engine में Petrol से ज़्यादा Torque क्यों? | ICN Explains

- We all know that diesel engines produce more torque than petrol engines, and thus are used in bigger and heavier vehicles. In this video we explain two main reasons (compression ratio and faster combustion) behind this. Do let us know in case we missed out on anything, we'll try and answer that asap.

Turbo vs Non Turbo engines - • Turbo vs Normal (NA) P...

Khamma Ghani. 🙏 Hope it clears all your confusion about why Diesel Engines offer more torque. Please share karna na bhuliye. 🙂🙏
Yogi jeeeeeeeee....... going rocks
great explanation power 👍
Always looking forward for your #icnexplains videos 🙂
Khammagani 🙏
As expected.... Best explanation.....
The way of explaination is so good. Your voice and actions keeps the viewers engaged.
But I expected more technicality as I am an Automotive Engineering grad.
The first point you mentioned is absolutely true but it should have been carry forwarded. Due to high compression ratio, the piston in Diesel engine has to move more as compared to Petrol engine of same capacity.
This movement is compensated by a longer arm which connects the Piston and crankshaft.
And as you know Torque= Force * Arm length.
Even if you generate same force, The diesel has longer arm which accounts for more Torque.
Also , due to more energy density the force produced by burning of Diesel is also more than Petrol.
In short.
Torque produced is more in Diesel engine of same capacity.
But the Power is more in Petrol Engine. Because of shorter arm length which makes the Crankshaft to complete one rotation much faster than in longer armed Diesel Engine.
Power = T * Rpm
Since Rpm is higher in petrol it gives more power.
So, if a petrol car is producing 82 bhp and diesel producing 100 bhp, should it be equal in performance? Please guide
Your way of explaining is perfect, even a non technical person will also get it easily.
Very easy to understand . My dad has been a truck driver for 30 years and i showed this video and several other videos of icn to him and he was able to understand it very easily.
Bhai aap automobile ke concepts itne effectively batate ho ki samnewala jaldi se aap ki baat ko capture kar leta hai.
I like the way you explain concepts.
Aap ne mere bahot se doubts clear kar diye hai.
Aap bahot acche video banate ho.
Great video 👍
One more reason for more torque is that diesel has more complex hydrocarbon compounds per unit volume as compared to petrol, because of which on combustion it produces more volume of combustion gases, resulting in more thrust.
Right. This is called higher calorific value
Sir , I first congratulate you for such a wonderful information.
I love the ease of way you are explaining the things.
I am basically very much interested in Automobile engineering from childhood.
You have got great convincing ability.
Thanks
Excellent!! Just d way u r explain it in a simplified manner makes it so attention grabbing. I like the fact that you always interrelate your previous episodes and also re-explain them for newbies to catch up quickly. Great Work Bro👍🏻
Hey, thanks a lot for the encouraging words. Really means a lot. 🙂🙏
Whatever the subject is,the way you explain is very interesting!
Ye Series bohat mast & Knowledgeable he, Keep it up bro 👍
Gazab bhai...maza aa gaya bahot knowledge mili aaj engine ke baare main...aise informative vidoes ki series ko please continue rakhna😊🙏...it's a request
Excellent Explanation! Great Work Sir! Keep It Up!
Another point : Calorific value of diesel is more than petrol, that is more energy is produced by burning diesel as compared to energy produced by burning same amount of petrol.
Did you get 1st reason in video?
Excellent information, Sirji 🎉🎉
Very informative, thanx a lot
Jabardast video Bhai..love your explaining style..👏👏👏
Thanks a lot bhai. 🙂🙏
Bohot informative video tha ty sir..👌👍🙏

Very well explained, thank you.....
Crystal clear. Thanks sir
Such an awesome & eloquently simplified Explanation 👌👌
Your vlog was too informative.
Please explain why diesel engine sounds more at low rpm than higher rpm.
Regards
Harish
Aapke samjhne ka tarika h vo bahut acha hai।।Good Job
That's simpless way to explain... Thx u sir
