Thanks! I enjoyed your video & learned good info! I wonder if the metal mesh thing you put on the spicket will cause a problem for the grains? Will be interesting to see as you go along. Thank you for your video.

No.. that is why I put it on there.. The spout is unusable because of the grains getting stuck in the spout.. I use more than just sugar, so the grains grew like mad and it is/was the only way to keep them out of the spout.. The strainer works great.. It was a lot more work to do the water kefir, and it was not as forgiving if you let it go a day or two or more longer, so, I just switched over to Two Kombuchas and we still do our Kefir milk in two quart jars..
It works great for the kombucha too.. I have had zero problems with it and I have problems every time with the other.. I have ordered two more screens already for my other jug, plus one I still have in the box..

Your ideas is clever, I like it. People say that metal can hurt the grains? It's so little metal compared to how much water kefir you're making so I imagine it wouldn't make a difference. Just curious.

Thanks for answering. I realized I didn't see your full answer the first time. I am going to try the same thing. Thanks again.
